PRE-OPERATIONANDDAILYSAFETYCHECKLIST
EachClubCarvehiclehasbeenthoroughlyinspectedandadjustedatthefactory;however,uponreceivingyournew
vehicle(s),youshouldbecomefamiliarwithitscontrols,indicators,andoperation.Carefullyinspecteachvehicleto
ensurethatitisinproperworkingconditionbeforeacceptingdelivery.
Usethefollowingchecklistasaguidetoinspectthevehicle.Thislistshouldbeuseddailyandinconjunctionwiththe
PerformanceInspectiononpage18andthePeriodicServiceScheduleonpage30toensurethatthevehicleisin
properworkingcondition.AnyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyaClubCardistributor/dealeroratrainedtechnician.
Donotoperatethevehicleuntiltheuppercabinet,canopy,andwindshieldhavebeeninstalled.SeeCafeExpress
RefreshmentCenterInstallationonpage42.
•SafetyVideo:Havealloperatorsviewthesafetyvideothatwasprovidedwiththevehicleandunderstandthe
safetywarningsitillustratesbeforeoperatingthevehicle.
•General:Allthepartsshouldbeinplaceandproperlyinstalled.Besurethatallnuts,bolts,andscrewsaretight.
Ongasolinevehicles,checkallhoseclampsfortighttaswellasthestarterbeltfortightness.
•Windshield:Ensurethatthewindshieldisinstalledbeforedrivingthevehicle.
•Safetyandinformationdecals:Checktoensurethatallsafetyandinformationdecalsareinplace.SeeSafety

•Tires:Checkforpropertirepressureupondeliveryandonadailybasiswhenthevehicleisinservice.See

•Loading:Beforedrivingthevehicle,ensurethattheloadweightisevenlydistributedintheCafeExpress
refreshmentcenter.Also,makesurethedrainvalvesareopeniftherefreshmentcenterisloadedwithice.
•Battery:Checkelectrolytetoensurethatitisatitsproperlevel(Figure16).Checkbatteryposts.Wiresshould
betightandfreeofcorrosion.
•Engine:Checkforproperengineoillevel.SeeEngineOilonpage34.
•Fuel:Checkfuellevel.SeeFuelingInstructionsonpage36.Checkfueltank,lines,cap,pump,fuellters,and
carburetorforfuelleakageonadailybasis.
•Exhaustsystem:Checkforleaks.

•Besuretheplastichasbeenremovedfromtheseatbottombeforeoperatingthevehicle.Failuretodo
somayresultinare,propertydamage,personalinjury,ordeath.
•PerformanceInspection:Inspectasinstructed.SeePerformanceInspectiononpage18.
PERFORMANCEINSPECTION
Afteryouhavefamiliarizedyourselfwiththevehiclecontrolsandhavereadandunderstoodthedrivinginstructions,
takethevehicleforatestdrive.Usethefollowinglist,inadditiontothePre-OperationandDailySafetyCheckliston
page18,asaguidetoinspectthevehicledailyforproperoperation.AnyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyaClubCar
distributor/dealeroratrainedtechnician.
•Governor:Checkmaximumspeedofthevehicle.Thevehicleshouldoperateat14mph(23km/h)orlesson
alevelsurface.WiththeneutrallockoutintheSERVICEposition,checktheengineRPMwithatachometer.
Thecorrectsettingforsafeoperationis3050±30.
•Forward/Reversecontrol:Checkforproperoperation.SeeControlsandIndicatorsonpage13.
