INTRODUCTION

The PAE 2 is intended for the remote control of current and voltage. The remote con -

trol unit is connected to the remote control socket on the wire feed unit. In order to

regulate the voltage the power source must be of the thyristor or inverter type.

Thanks to planetary gear setting knobs it is possible to make accurate remote ad-

justments of the current and voltage easily.

READ AND UNDERSTAND THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE INSTALLING OR OPERATING.

ARC WELDING AND CUTTING CAN BE INJURIOUS TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS. TAKE PRECAU -

TIONS WHEN WELDING. ASK FOR YOUR EMPLOYER’S SAFETY PRACTICES WHICH SHOULD BE

BASED ON MANUFACTURERS’ HAZARD DATA.

ELECTRIC SHOCK -- Can kill

S Install and earth the welding unit in accordance with applicable standards.

S Do not touch live electrical parts or electrodes with bare skin, wet gloves or wet clothing.

S Insulate yourself from earth and the workpiece.

S Ensure your working stance is safe.

FUMES AND GASES -- Can be dangerous to health

S Keep your head out of the fumes.

S Use ventilation, extraction at the arc, or both, to keep fumes and gases from your breathing zone and

the general area.

ARC RAYS -- Can injure eyes and burn skin.

S Protect your eyes and body. Use the correct welding screen and filter lens and wear protective

clothing.

S Protect bystanders with suitable screens or curtains.

FIRE HAZARD

S Sparks (spatter) can cause fire. Make sure therefore that there are no inflammable materials nearby.

NOISE -- Excessive noise can damage hearing

S Protect your ears. Use ear defenders or other hearing protection.

S Warn bystanders of the risk.

MALFUNCTION -- Call for expert assistance in the event of malfunction.

PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS!

INSTALLATION

Connect the 12 pole plug to the remote socket on the wire feed unit and set the

switch on the wire feed unit to the remote position.

VERSION

Two versions of the PAE 2 are available. One with the potentiometers enclosed in a

box surrounded by a protective bar and the second with the potentiometers enclosed

in a handgrip. Both versions are supplied witha5meterlongconnecting cable.

Orderin g spare parts

When ordering spare parts please state the machine model, designation, serial

number and the name and number of the spare part as shown in the list of spare

parts.

This will simplify dispatch and ensure correct delivery.
