How to Use This Guide
This manual is attended for users of the NuPRO-840 SBC as a source of
information to setup and maintain a working system. This manual gives
the user information on specifications, connector types and how to install
the different drivers to keep the system running at its optimum level. The
manual is divided into 8 chapters with appendixes:
Chapter 1, “Introduction”, introduces the key features of the NuPRO-
840. This chapter includes a product definition, a list of
product features, and a functional block diagram with a
brief description of each block
Chapter 2, “Getting Started”, provides setup information for the
NuPRO-840. This chapter summarizes what you need to
know in order to configure your system and should be read
before attempting to use the board.
Chapter 3, “Configuration”, discusses the configurable jumpers on
the NuPRO-840. This chapter details factory default
settings and provides information about tailoring the board
to the needs of specific applications.
Chapter 4, “Reset”, discusses the reset types and reset sources on
the NuPRO-840.
Chapter 5, “System Monitoring and Alarms”, explains how to
access various system-monitoring devices and alarming
functions on the NuPRO-840.
Chapter 6, “IDE Controller”, provides an introduction to the cPCI-
NuPRO-840's IDE Controller. This chapter covers drive
configuration, IDE I/O mapping, device drivers, and the
NuPRO-840's support for internal and external disk drives.
Chapter 7, “Watchdog Timer”, explains the operation of the NuPRO-
840's watchdog timer. A sample code is provided to
illustrate how the watchdog’s functions are used in an
application.
Chapter 8, “Driver Installation”, provides step-by-step instructions
how to install the software drivers successfully.
Appendix A, “Specifications”, contains electrical, environmental, and
mechanical specifications for the NuPRO-840.
Appendix B, "Jumpers & Connectors," outlines all the jumpers and
connectors on the NuPRO-840 and it pin definition
Appendix C, “NuPRO-840 Comparison Table”, lists the differences
between the different models of the NuPRO-840.
