WARNING:
Failure to properly and safely operate a remote starter in
a manual transmission vehicle can result in serious injury,
death, or property damage.
Thank you for purchasing a remote starter module for manual transmissions from Directed Electronics. Directed is committed
to your safety and therefore is providing you important instructions and safety precautions that you must follow when using
this remote starter.
Remote starters on manual transmission vehicles operate differently than those with automatic transmissions because you
must leave your car in neutral. In addition, there are other differences that you must be familiar with. Therefore, you must
read the rest of this document and the Owner’s Guide for your remote starter. If you have any questions, ask your installer or
contact Directed at 1-800-753-0600.
1.) Be sure that the installer has attached the warning label on the inside windshield and under the hood to remind you
and others about the existence of this remote starter.
2.) Before remote starting the vehicle:
Leave the vehicle in neutral and be sure that neither you nor anyone else is standing in front of or behind the
vehicle.
Only remote start on a flat surface with the parking brake fully raised. The parking brake must be functional and
properly adjusted at all times.
3.) Do not remote start the vehicle if any person, children or pets are in the vehicle.
4.) Do not remote start the vehicle with your windows open.
5.) If your vehicle is sold, given away, or used by anyone else, it is important that they be given a copy of these instruc
-
tions and the remote starters instructions and told about the operating characteristics of a remote starter on a man-
ual transmission vehicle. Be sure that the Owner’s/User’s Guide for the remote starter and for this module, respec-
tively, remains in the vehicle in which the product is installed.
6.) When this vehicle is being serviced by a third party, you should disengage the remote start system (see Owner’s Guide
for remote starter on how to do this) and advise the servicing party of the presence of the remote start system.

Setting up Ready-Mode for remote starting.
1) All doors must be closed
2) Key start the engine
3) Fully apply the parking brake
4) Put the transmission in neutral and release the clutch pedal
5) Engage remote start. The parking lights will flash or illuminate depending on the model of remote start.
6) Remove key from ignition cylinder
7) Exit vehicle without pressing the brake pedal
8) Shut all doors to vehicle. The engine will shut off automatically.
The remote starter is now ready for remote start. If the vehicle does not shut down after closing all the doors you are NOT in
ready-mode. You will need to re-enter the vehicle and repeat the process.
Once the vehicle has been set up in ready-mode and the engine has shut off, the remote starter can be used to start the vehicle
at any time.
If any of the doors are opened when the vehicle is not running with the remote starter, the ready-mode will be canceled and
the module will prevent the remote start from starting the vehicle. In this case the module will need to be re-setup for ready-
mode.
