LUBRICATION
OPERATION
Ifthetoolisnotusedwithanin-linelubricationsystemon
theairsupplyitisnecessarytoperiodicallylubricatethe
toolwithairtoollubrication.
USEONLYTHEAIRTOOLLUBRICANTSSUPPLIEDWITH
THETOOL. Donotuseotherlubricantsastheymay
damagethetool.
Donotusedetergentoil,WD-40,transmissionfluid,motor
oil,orotherlubricantsnotspecificallydesignatedasairtool
lubricants.Theselubricantswillcauseacceleratedwearto
theseals,o-rings,andbumpersinthetool,resultingin
poortoolperformanceandfrequentmaintenance.

Neveruseoxygenorotherbottledgasesasapowersource.
Explosionmayoccur.Combustiblegasesandotherbottled
gasesaredangerousandmaycausethetooltoexplode.
Neverconnectthetooltoanairsourcethatiscapableof
producingairpressureexceeding200PSI. Excessive
pressurecancauseabnormaloperationorcausethetoolto
burst,resultinginpersonalinjury.
Donotexceedmaximumrecommendedairpressure
markedonthetool. Verifypriortousingthetoolthattheair
sourcehasbeenadjustedwithintheratedair-pressure
rang.Besuretheairpressuregaugeisoperatingproperly
andcheckitatleasttwiceaday.Toolsoperatedinexcess
oftheirmaximumpressureratingmayoperateabnormally
orburstresultinginpersonalinjury.
Toconnectthetooltothecompressoronlyusepneumatic
airhosesthatmeetthefollowingcriteria:

Beforeactuallybeginningthenailingwork,testthetoolby
usingthechecklistbelow.Conductthetestinthefollowing
order.
Ifabnormaloperationoccurs,stopusingthetooland
performedbyqualifiedrepairpersonnelimmediately.

futurereference.
Installafilter,regulator,lubricatorunitandmoisturetrap
onyourairdeliverysystemperthemanufacturer's
instructionsforthesedevices.Additionally,installa
pressuregaugeascloseaspracticaltothetool,
preferablywithin10feet.
Selecthoseswithaminimuminnerdiameterof1/4
inchesandamaximumlengthof100feet.

Toreducetheriskofinjuryfromahosebursting,select
hosesthatareratedatleast200PSI.
Selectfittingsthatareappropriatelysizedforthe
selectedhoses.Thetoolandairhosemusthaveahose
couplingsuchthatallpressureisremovedfromthetool
whenthecouplingjointisdisconnected.
Neverusenonrelievingcouplersand/orfemalequick
disconnectcouplingsonthetool. Nonrelievingcouplings
andfemalecouplingswilltraphighpressureairinthetool
whentheairlineisdisconnected.Thiswillleavethetool
chargedwithenoughairafterithasbeendisconnectedto
driveanail.OnlyMALEpneumatictypeairconnectors
shouldbefittedtothetool,sothathighpressureairinthe
toolisventedtoatmosphereassoonastheairlineis
disconnected.
SettheregulatorattheairdeliverysystemtoaPSIthat
fallswithinthetool'soperatingrangeof60-100PSI.The
correctpressureisthelowestpressurethatwilldothe
job.

NAILLOADING
Alwaysloadnailsintothetool'smagazinebeforetheair
supplyisconnected. Connectingtheairsupplyafterloading
nailsreducestheriskofunintentionallydrivinganailand
injuringyourselforsomeoneelse.
Whenloadingthetoolsmagazine,checkthatthenailtips
contactthewearrailandslidesmoothlyagainstthesurface
ofthemagazine. Ifthenailsarenotloadedproperly,the
toolwillmisfireandnailscanbedeflected,causingthetool
toreactinanunexpectedmanner,anddamagethetool.
Disconnectairsupply.
Pushmagazinelatchandpullmagazinetoopenposition
(FIG5).
Seetoolspecificationstodetermineappropriatenail
sizes.Insertappropriatenailstrips,withthenailtips
contactingthewearrail(FIG6/FIG7).
Pushthenailstripagainstthenose.
Pushmagazinefullyclosed.Magazinelatchwillmaintain
fullyclosedposition.
