This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no
odor.
Using it in an enclosed space can kill you.
Never use this appliance in an enclosed space such as a
camper, tent, car or home.
• EXPLOSION - FIRE HAZARD
WARNING
This product is fueled by propane gas. Propane gas is
invisible, odorless, and ammable. An odorant is normally
added to help detect leaks and can be described as a
“rotten egg” smell. The odorant can fade over time so
leaking gas is not always detectable by smell alone.
Propane gas is heavier than air and leaking propane will
sink to the lowest level possible. It can ignite by ignition
sources includingmatches, lighters, sparks or open ames
of any kind many feet away from the original leak. Use
only propane gas set up for vapor withdrawal.
Propane gas should be stored or used in compliance with
local ordinances and codes or with ANSI/NFPA 58. Turn off

model or by itself as a stand-alone product.
Safety Guidelines
The Hydro Hammock
TM
Portable Water Heating System operates using propane gas, electricity and functions to
heat water ranging from lukewarm to scalding hot temperatures. Please use caution when operating the system
and review and follow all instructions carefully. Before powering on your system you'll want to make sure you
choose a location that is clear of ammable vapors. In addition, the system is not 100% waterproof, so avoid
submerging the system in water. The system is highly water resistent.
Operate ONLY in Upright position The system is designed to operate standing upright. Failure to
follow these instruction can result in serious injury or re.
What you’ll need
There are a few things you'll need to operate the system including a water source, which can be water from your
home and a garden hose or a natural body of water such as a lake or river that's safe. The system requires fuel to
operate and uses propane.
Quick set-up guide
1. ***Stand the system up on its wheels with all Warning Label Arrows pointed up.
2. ***Remove BOTH (2) circular vent port covers from the top and side of the case.
3. Attach Propane Tank to hose regulator and fully open propane tank valve.
4. Check Gas Hose and connections for leaks as instructed. (See Service Safety)

Storage and Winterization Important: (Failure Will Void Warranty)
Due to the integrated mechanical and electrical over-temperature shut-off devices, Hydro Heater
TM
unit will not
produce water that continuously exceeds 145°F. The burner will simply cycle off while the water keeps owing for your
convenience. The burner will cycle back on when internal water temperatures reach about 140°F.
Hydro Heater
TM
unit is ideal for many outdoor activities. Savu supports the Leave No Trace Principles that encourage
minimal impact to the environment while camping. You’ll nd that less soap is necessary with warm water than with
cool or cold water, so use small amounts of biodegradable soap. Please dispose of your gray water responsibly. Wash
yourself 200 feet away from streams or lakes to avoid soap run-off nding its way to a natural water source. Contact your
campground or park to learn about their specic gray water disposal policy.
Hydro Heater
TM
unit will typically run continuously on one full battery charge for 2-3 hours. Make sure to pack sufcient
propane fuel for the duration of your outing. Maintaining your battery at or near full levels will increase the life of your
battery.
Continuous operation of water heater at warm setting for 20 minutes may cause the propane cylinder to freeze up. Let
the cylinder thaw or replace with a fresh propane cylinder.
Helpful Hints
Maintenance
CAUTION: WARNING: If the outside temperature is around or below freezing (32 degrees F, 0 degrees C), ensure
that the drain valve is opened and water drained from the portable tankless water heater after each use to avoid internal
damage to the water regulator. You will also need to unhook the outgoing and incoming water lines to ensure that any
water in the heat exchanger is drained. Failure to properly drain your portable tankless water heater will cause water
damage which may or may not be reparable. Please check the warranty information

Maintaining Flow The number one reason that the portable tankless water heater does not ignite is that there is not enough water
pressure. You need a minimum of 20 PSI. which the pump will provide with a charged battery.
If heater shuts down it is most likely that the system has lost sufcient water pressure which will shut down the heater.
Check that the Green hose is submerged in the water fully and is not restricted or blocked by fabric or objects.
Check that the inline strainer is clear (located on the end of the green hose.) Stop the pump (red button on case) and
open the strainer, clean debris, re-insert the wire strainer and screw back on strainer cover.)
Battery
If the pump doesn’t run, heater doesn’t ignite and the hoses are NOT obstructed check that the battery is charged by
reading the battery indicator level on the charging port.
Pump not running
Is the battery fully charged and connected?
Is the switch on?
Does the switch light up? If not check the fuse then check for possible unconnected connections points (in switch, at
battery or hardest to get to, on the hidden side of the pump.
No ow of water (pump running)
Are the hoses attached and tightly fastened?
Are water valves open on the shower hose? Is one or are both strainers clogged?
Is the draw hose(w/strainer) submerged?
Is air going through the system (bubbling?) Check above note then see at there is an O-ring on the strainer by the
pump. Other ttings before pump could need tightening. If water is leaking from other ttings tighten and or add an
extra O-ring.
You can also reverse the hookup by taking your water source and hooking it up to the water outlet side and back
ushing the system.
Water owing but propane not turning on.
Turn off pump to check and clean strainers.
Is the battery sufciently charged? Note: With clean strainers and fully charged battery shower head spray should
shoot 3-4ft straight vertically. (If the unit has been run in sea or with silty water the shower head may get fouled,
remove unscrew cap by spray, back ush and clean spray holes and possibly remove LED component.
Is the D-battery compartment on the bottom of component unlatched or are these batteries dead? Replace with 2
fresh D batteries.
High Wind. For safety reasons the heater will not start in sustained wind, nd an alternate
Location for the water heater.
Heater only runs for 30 seconds
Are the Strainers clean and is the O-ring in place on strainer near water pump? Or other attachment loose on pre-
pump side? Tighten if sucking air somewhere.
Be certain that the Water Heater Case is upright.
Exhaust Port uncapped and exhaust without hindrance.
Is propane properly attached?
Is propane valve fully open?
Adequate propane (not empty)?
Valves fully open? No kinks?
Propane gas cylinders sometimes are contaminated with air, especially new tanks upon their rst lling. Cycle the
portable tankless water heater on and off by using the shower head switch several times (5) to purge the air from
the gas.
Running loud
Open close valve to burst through air pockets.
Check if something is rattling in case.
