SETTING UP YOUR MICROPHONE
Connecting to your computer
Connect the USB cable (included) from your microphone to your
computer. For the best performance, do not connect it to a USB hub.
Windows:
1 Open the Control Panel.
2 In the upper-right corner, change “View by to Small icons.
3 Click Sound, then click Recordings.
4 Select NS-PAUBMD8, then click Set Default. Make sure that there is a
green check mark next to NS-PAUBMD8.
5 Click Congure.
6 Click Set up Microphone, then follow the on-screen instructions.
7 (Optional) To adjust the computer’s microphone volume, click
Properties.
8 When nished, close the Control Panel.
Mac:
1 Open the Finder, then select Applications.
2 Open System Preferences, then click Sound.
3 Select the Input tab, then select NS-PAUBMD8. Make sure that the
mute button isn’t selected.
4 Select the Output tab, then select NS-PAUBMD8. Make sure that the
mute button isn’t selected.
5 When nished, close System Preferences.
Adjusting your microphones angle
Loosen the adjustment knobs to move the microphone to the position
you want, then retighten the knobs to secure.
Before using your new product, please read these instructions to prevent any damage.

Headphone jack: Connect 3.5 mm headphones to monitor your recording

Stereo recording button: Press to record in stereo sound. Overrides
the polar pattern knob.
Polar pattern knob: Rotate to select a recording pattern.

Attaching your pop lter
Slide the pop lter over your microphone until it is secure at the base
of the microphone.
Attaching to a microphone stand
Unscrew the desk stand’s adjustment knobs to remove the
microphone, then screw the microphone onto a stand that has a 1/4”
threaded adapter.
USING YOUR MICROPHONE
Adjusting the volume
Selecting a recording pattern
Raise or lower the headphone volume slider to
adjust your headphone volume.
Raise or lower the microphone volume slider to
adjust your recording volume. The lowest position
mutes your microphone.
Press the stereo recording button to record in stereo
sound. This overrides the polar pattern knob.
Turn the polar pattern knob to select a bidirectional,
omnidirectional, or cardioid recording pattern.
Make sure that the stereo recording button is not
turned on.
