Traceable 4149 is a digital thermometer designed to measure temperature accurately. It features a ¼” LCD display, an 8” stainless steel probe, and a wide temperature range of –58.0 to 536.0°F (–50.0 to 280.0°C). It has a resolution of 0.1° above –20.0° and below 200.0° and 1.0° below –20.0° and above 200.0°. The thermometer is accurate to ±1°C between –20 to 100°C and ±0.4°C –20.0 to 100.0°C at tested points. It has a sampling rate of 1 second and can toggle between displaying the temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius.

CONTROLS/INDICATORS
°F/°C button and ON/OFF button.
ULTRA™ THERMOMETER ACCURACY
Ultra™ thermometers are tested at selected test
points to be within tighter than normal tolerances to
assist in providing improved accuracy. Other points
will not necessarily fall within the same accuracy
as those found at the selected test points, but will
be within an accuracy of ±1° between –20.0 and
100.0°C.
OPERATION
1. Press the “ON/OFF” button to turn the ther-
mometer on.
2. Press the “°F/°C” button to toggle between
the battery with a new fresh battery will solve most
difculties.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Erratic readings, a faint display, or no display are
all indicators that the battery must be replaced.
Remove the battery cap by turning ¼ turn counter
clockwise. Replace exhausted battery with a new
1.5 volt battery. Make certain that positive (+) side
is face up. Replace battery cap. Do not overtight-
en the cap. Replacement battery Cat. No. 1039.

3. Remove the thermometer from the protective
plastic sleeve and insert the probe into the
material to be measured.
4. The head of the thermometer rotates 180
degrees in order to read the display at various
angles.
5. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit off.
ALL OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES
If this unit does not function properly for any
reason, replace the battery with a new high-quality
battery (see “Battery Replacement” section). Low
battery power can occasionally cause any number
of “apparent” operational difculties. Replacing
