Installation
• Placetheapplianceona worksurfaceawayfromwater
taps and sinks.
• Check that the voltage of the mains power supply cor-
responds to the value indicated on the appliance rating
plate. Connect the appliance to an eciently earthed
electrical socket with a minimum rating of 6A only.
The manufacturer declines all liability for any accidents
caused by the absence of an ecient earth system.
• Ifthepowersocketdoesnotmatchtheplugontheap-
pliance, have the socket replaced with a suitable type by a
qualied electrician.
Important: the rst time the coee maker is used,
all the accessories and internal components should be
washed with hot water. Then make and throw away a few
batches of coee without drinking.
How to make coee
• Assicurarsichelacaettierasiafreddaesvitarlatenendo
lacaldaia(G)conunamanoeconl’altraruotarelacaraa
(C)insensoantiorario(g.1).
• Removethefunnellter(I)and,tomakeafullpotofcof-
fee, ll the boiler with cold water up to the top drop
(gs.2,3and4),withoutcoveringthesafetyvalve(visible
inside the boiler).
If you want to make just half a pot, ll the boiler with wa-
ter up to the bottom drop (gs.2,3and4).
Please note: we recommend using soft cold water.
Brackish or hard water will weaken the avour. The coee
should ideally be up to lter level.
Important: do not use the coee maker without
water in the boiler. Do not use hot water to speed up coee
making.
• Insertthefunnellter(I)intheboiler(g.5).
To preparehalf a pot,inserttheadapterdisk (H)inthe
funnellter(I).(g.6).
• Fillthefunnellter(I)withgroundcoee,withoutpres-
singdown(g.7).Fillalittleatatimetoavoidtheground
coee overowing.
• Distribute the ground coee uniformly and remove any
excess coee from the edge of the lter.
Please note: Use good quality, medium-ground
coee, for moka coee makers.
• Tighten the coee maker rmly but without exaggera-
ting, holding the boiler with one hand and turning the pot
clockwise with the other, without pushing on the handle.
Danger of burns! To avoid dangerous splashes of
boiling water, never use the coee maker unless the disk
lter(F)iscorrectlyinposition.
• Restthecoeemakeronthebase(g.8).
Closethelid(A).
• PresstheON/OFFswitch(O).
The light in the button shows that the coee maker is on.
• Coeedeliverywillbeginafterafewminutes.
• Attheendofbrewing,mixthecoeetomakeituniform
then serve.
Keep-warm function
Once you have made the coee, you can keep it warm for
about30minutesbysimplyleavingitonthebase.
Todisablethefunction,presstheON/OFFswitch(O).
If you remove the coee maker from the base, the keep warm
functiongoesoautomatically.Rememberthatcoeeloses
its characteristic aroma when warmed up.
Cleaning and maintenance
Danger of burns! Before cleaning the appliance,
wait until it has cooled down after use.
Danger! Unplugthebase(M)fromthemainsso-
cket before cleaning.
• Checkregularlytomakesurethecoeeslitsarenotblo-
cked.Cleanusingapin(g.9).
• Overtime,thegasket(E)andfunnel(I)becomeold.When
signs of wear and deterioration become evident, they
must be replaced. Use only gaskets and funnels available
from authorised customer service centres or identical to
the originals provided.
• Everysooftencheckthattheholesinthedisklterarenot
blocked.Ifnecessary,cleanusingapin(g.10).
• Donotwashthecoeemakerinthedishwasher.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive detergentsto clean the
boilerG),safetyvalve(F)andbase(M).
Cleaning with a damp cloth is sucient, making sure wa-
ter does not penetrate the connector.
Danger of burns! Whenyouremovethedisklter
(D)forcleaningortoreplacethegasket(E),rememberto
replace it correctly before using the coee maker to avoid
dangerous splashes of hot water.
