Installation
NOTE: The fan housing exhaust outlet is 163mm in
diameter. Use duct transition or flexible pipe supplied
with the rangehood as a reducer if using 150mm
optional ducting accessories.
NOTE: For ducted mode, we recommend extending flue
pipe through the roof to external “china hat” to vent
exhaust externally. We do not recommend venting
into ceiling cavity.
NOTE: To ensure optimum performance of the rangehood,
the use of rigid ducting is recommended. The use
of bends should be avoided. Rigid flexible ducting
is suitable, although loose flexible ducting is
unacceptable. All ducting must be fire retardant.
Installation of telescopic exhaust covers
Separate the inner and outer exhaust covers, and carefully
remove the protective coating from both. Carefully
reassemble the inner and outer exhaust covers sections by
sliding the inner into the outer exhaust cover. Carefully lower
the assembled inner and outer exhaust covers onto the
top of the cooker hood body, and insert the exhaust cover
intotherangehoodbodyapproximately5mm.Fixinner
(top) exhaust cover to the mounting bracket with screws
supplied. Ensure that the inner (top) section is extended.
important
Care must be taken to ensure the screws are not cross
threadedwhenattachingtheouteruecover.
If installed in recirculating mode, insert the carbon filter.
To complete the rangehood installation, replace the filter.
Placebackedgeoflterintopositionandpushupfront
edge so that the filter clips into place.
Your Electrolux rangehood is now ready to use.

Installation sequence
1 Using a spirit level mark a vertical centre line on the wall
where the hood is to be positioned, and a horizontal line
at the hood base position (refer diagram bottom left).
NOTE: The height of the underside of the hood body must
be a minimum of 550mm above an electric cooktop
& gas cook top and a maximum height of 750mm
(refer to table).
* I
f the instructions of the hob specify a greater distance than the minimum
above, then that shall be the minimum height for installation.

reference point.
3 Install wall and ceiling mounting with suitable screws
(to support a total weight of 30kg) to the wall at the
positions marked in diagram.
4 Remove the protective plastic film from the hood body
and hang hood on the mounting points then secure at
the anti-tilt locations as indicated in diagram.
Dependingonthepreferredinstallation/ductingmode,
follow step 5a or 5b below.
5a Recirculating mode(Fig.A,previouspage).Usingthe
centre line, secure the mount bracket to the wall using
suitable screws. Attach the recirculating T-piece. Use
cable ties or suitable duct tape to secure the T-piece.
NOTE: When installed in recirculation mode, it is
recommended to use a carbon filter (included as
standard equipment with EFC9588X).

electrolux canopy rangehood maintenance and cleaning 7
caution
• Before maintenance or cleaning is carried out,
the rangehood should be disconnected from the
main power supply. Ensure that the rangehood is
switched off at the wall socket
and the plug removed.
• External surfaces are susceptible to scratches
and abrasions, so please follow the cleaning
instructions to ensure the best possible result is
achieved without damage.
Glass Surfaces
Glass surfaces are best cleaned immediately after soiling
using warm soapy water.
Use a dry soft cloth to remove any excessive moisture left
after cleaning.
Donotuseharshabrasivecleanersormetalscrapers
Stainless Steel Surface
Clean stainless steel surfaces using non-abrasive cleaning
products that are specifically for use on stainless steel.
To ensure best results also use an even pressure and follow
the grain of the stainless steel. Use of a soft cloth reduces
the risk of scratching. If the cloth is wet ensure that a dry
soft cloth is used to wipe down the surface again reducing
the risk of any surface rust appearing.
Control panel surface
The control panel can be cleaned using warm soapy water.
Ensure the cloth is well wrung before cleaning. Use a dry
soft cloth to remove any excess moisture left after cleaning.
Use the “lock” button before cleaning the control panel.
Cleaning grease lters
The filters can be cleaned by hand or dishwasher in warm
soapy water.
By hand –Soakinwarmwaterandsome
washingupliquid.Forstubborngrease
stains use a soft nylon brush to help
remove these stains. After cleaning
ensure that the filters are completely
dry before refitting.
In a dishwasher–Ensurethatplacementoftheltersis
made so as to not impede the function
ofthesprayarm.Filtersshouldbe
washed separately to crockery and
other kitchen utensils. After cleaning
ensure that the filters are completely
dry before refitting.
Changing the halogen lamps
Ensure lamp is cool before removing.
Usingasmallatbladescrewdriverremovetheinner
stainless steel ring to obtain access to the halogen globe.
When removing the inner ring, do so carefully, as the glass
lense could easily fall out of the inner ring. Remove the
halogen globe, whilst cool, and replace carefully with a
new globe.
The rangehood takes 2 x 20W, 12 volt halogen globes
important
When handling globes hold with a cloth or gloves to ensure
perspiration does not come into contact with a globe as this
can reduce the life of the globe.

The Thoughtful Design Innovator.
Doyourememberthelasttimeyouopenedagiftthatmadeyousay“Oh!Howdid
youknow?That’sexactlywhatIwanted!”That’sthekindoffeelingthatthedesigners
at Electrolux seek to evoke in everyone who chooses or uses one of our products. We
devote time, knowledge, and a great deal of thought to anticipating and creating the
kind of appliances that our customers really need and want.
Thiskindofthoughtfulcaremeansinnovatingwithinsight.Notdesignfordesign’ssake,
butdesignfortheuser’ssake.Forus,thoughtfuldesignmeansmakingapplianceseasier
to use and tasks more enjoyable to perform, freeing our customers to experience that
ultimate21stcenturyluxury,easeofmind.Ouraimistomakethiseaseofmindmore
available to more people in more parts of their everyday lives, all over the world. So when
wesaywe’rethinkingofyou,youknowwemeanjustthat.
The “Thinking of you” promise from Electrolux goes beyond meeting the needs of
today’sconsumers.Italsomeanswe’recommittedtomakingappliancessafeforthe
environment—now and for future generations.
Electrolux. Thinking of you.
