General information
The aspiration hoods allow eliminating fumes and the odours of cooking from the
kitchen through a dedicated disposal conduit, drawing in clean air, substituting the
expelled air by opening the kitchen air replacement unit.
This action is generated by the aspiration group in the hood that removes the air under
the hood and conducts it outside through the disposal conduit. Moreover, the hood
includes the aspiration function commands and a functional system of illumination of the
cooking top. Expert installation of the hood and timely maintenance allows greater
maintenance, over time, of the services while fully respecting safety regulations.

Verifications
Before proceeding with interventions considered “Repairs”, check that the
“Verification” operations of small faults or disturbances have been carried
out.
Unusual noise or vibrations
Check the tightness of the installation screws
Check the correct closure of the perimeter panel
The hood does not start
Check the insertion of the supply plug
Check that there has not been interruptions in the power supply
Check the position of the motor command
Scarce aspiration
Wash the metal filters or change the active carbon filters in the hood in the
filtering version
Check that the air exit tubing is not obstructed and that it is of the correct
dimension

9 1. Light fixture: available and different in form and dimension in all F-Light
models with the exception of the Zoom model. The 6 lamps must be powered
separately from the hood and driven by the wall light switch of the kitchen.
9 2. Lighting group: it lights the hob with 4 X 20W halogen spotlights, operated
by the control group on board or by the remote control.
9 3. Control group: it turns on and off the lights, drives the hood motor and the
up&down movement of the hood body.
9 4. Suction area: the hood uses the perimetric aspiration principle, defined by the
lighting group. Inside there is the self supporting metal grease filter.
9 5. Fumes exit hole: it can be used both for the recirculating and the exhausting
installations.

Procedure for repair interventions
We advise following this intervention schedule:
Visual analysis of the product and evaluation of its installation.
Identifying the problem and changing eventual defective parts.
Performing functional tests designed to evaluate the correctness of the
intervention carried out.
Issuing a document that, other than the details of the client, shows the type of
intervention carried out and the eventual list of spare parts used.
Preliminary operations
Disconnect the hood

Remove the perimeter aspiration panel
To make the internal parts of the hood accessible

To access to the functional parts of the hood

Interventions on the appliance
The interventions on the appliance, whenever possible, can be executed both on the
installed hood or after dismounting it from the roof fixed support plate. The technician
will choose the operating way.
In order to dismount the hood body it is convenient to place a proper support (i.e.:
carton box, chair,...) over the cooking area: after releasing the four steel ropes the hood
body could be placed on this support, providing easy access to its top panel and proper
protection to the cooking area.
Here below we describe the procedure to disassemble each steel rope:
It is not needed to remove the hood body from the roof fixed support plate in order to
operate on the halogen lights, the fuse, the lighting group and the control group.
The hood body might be removed from the support plate in order to operate on the
motor group, electronic main board, up&down motion group, halogen lights
transformer, up&down motor transformer.

9 Unscrew the safety nut “1”
9 Push up the threaded pin “2” inside the
cylinder “3” and keep it in position, to
unlock the rope
9 Pull the rope “4” in order to extract it
completely from the locking system
9 Note that normally the cylinder “3” is
completely screwed in the support and
there is no need to unscrew it in order to
remove the rope
9 WARNING: after the installation, tighten
very well the safety nut “1” in order to
avoid, for the future, the misalignment of
the hood, hence the fault of the up/down
movement

In order to open the top cover of the hood body, remove the 4 screws and the power
supply cable holder:

The picture shows the inside of the hood body after the removal of the top cover:
GEAR MOTOR: it operates the winding and unwinding of the pulleys hosting the steel
ropes that support the hood body . The 12 Volts toroidal transformer hosted in the
electronic mother board group provides the power supply to the gear motor.
LOWER POSITION MICRO SWITCH: controls the down movement and it is
activated when the hood reaches the height set at installation.
UPPER POSITION MICRO SWITCH: controls the rise of the hood and it is
activated when the hood reaches the pin fixed on the roof support plate.
HORIZONTAL POSITION MICRO SWITCH: monitor the correct horizontal
position of the hood body: it disables the up&down movement in case of significant tilt
of the hood body itself. In this case the hood is kept in fixed position, seemingly unable
to receive input from the remote controls, while other controls, i.e.: lights and airflow
motor, are normally drivable. The malfunction is highlighted by the fast flashing of the
led on the control group.

remove the 5 screws to release the whole group which
includes the main board, the electronic transformer for the 4 halogen lights and the
toroidal transformer for the up&down movement gear motor.

Motion Group:
remove the 10 screws to release the up&down motion group from the
hood body. Disconnect the 12V supply connector and remove the 4 ropes from the
pulleys. The motion group is supplied as a completed assembled spare part in order to
avoid misalignments of the pulleys and chains on the zinc supports.

Motor:
the motor group is fixed on the hood body top with the 4 screws shown below.
However it must be removed from the lower part; hence it is necessary to open the
lighting group, remove the metal filter and disconnect the power supply connector on the
left and the main board wiring connector on the right of the motor group.

After the opening of the lighting group panel it is necessary to remove the stainless steel
cover to reach the controls and the lighting:
Note that this stainless steel cover was introduced in production on January 2011 (Prod.
1102). Hence it will not be found on the hoods produced before the end of 2010.

In order to replace the lamp, remove the external frame which holds the glass
Fuse
: it protects the mother board in relation to the up&down movement. Open the
lighting group to reach the fuse holder, which is located on the left for productions
within 1031 and on the right for productions from 1032. Unscrew the fuse holder to
reach the fuse.

In the models equipped with light fixture (all except “Zoom” model) the lamps (halogen
or energy saving) are mounted on the roof fixed support plate.
It is needed a 220V power supply separated from the hood one. Hence for these models
two separated 220V power supply are needed.
