What’s the OEM Activation
The OEM Activation (previously known as System-Locked Pre-installation 2.0 or
SLP 2.0) is the mechanism used by the OEM computer manufacturers to factory
activate preinstalled Windows operating system on branded notebook so that activate
process of Windows Vista is done transparently and automatically once end-user first
starts the computer. The BIOS and OS have key and some secure information
respectively. OS will check the information and key via special security protocol, OS
is activated if they match each other
OS Windows is inactivation
The operating system Windows Vista / Windows 7 is from HDI or pre-installation OS.
You may meet the Windows Vista / Windows 7 is changed to inactivation and OS
Windows request you activate now. Please DO NOT change product key and follow
the procedure to re-activate OS again.
Step 1: To shutdown the system. Then, to power on the system.
Step 2: To run BIOS Setup Utility, press the F2 key when the prompt appears on the
screen during the system startup. The prompt shows up on the screen for only a few
seconds. You must press the F2 key quickly. The BIOS Setup Utility main screen
appears as shown next.
Step 3: Choose “Advanced” Menu, then choose “OEM Activation 2.x version” item,
the screen appear as show next:
If the original setting of OEM Activation 2.x version is OA 2.1, please select another
selection OA 2.0. Contrarily, if the original setting is OA 2.0, please select OA 2.1.
Step 4: To save the setting in BIOS Setup Utility.
Step 5: Reboot the system and enter the OS Windows.
