What size Diamond blade do i need?
Selecting the size of the Diamond blade is all dependent on what
tool you are using, as well as the material you are trying to cut.
Every application will vary on the task at hand, as well as the bore
size and segment height of the blade.
There are a lot of variables to consider when selecting your
diamond blade, many of which relate to the saw you are using. First
things first, you will need a blade that is designed specifically for the

angles. This is common when raking mortar and when working is
confined environments.
Angle grinders use blades that have a diameter of 100mm, 115mm
and 125mm, as well as any blade designed for mortar raking. All of
these sized blades will fit an angle grinder, however this will depend
on your actual angle grinder. Some grinders are limited to 115mm
or 125mm. A 125mm blade will not fit a grinder limited to 115mm.
The best way to check this is to check the manual you received with
the tool or online (You will need the manufacturer model number of
the tool to search for this).
Disc Cutter Blade
Disc cutters are hand held tools that are designed for cutting hard
materials. They are similar to angle grinders; however, they are
larger which means they require larger blades. Angle grinders will
suit blades with sizes of 300mm, 350mm and 400mm.
Similarly, to the angle grinder, each disc cutter is designed for one
specific sized blade for example a 350mm blade. This means that
only 350mm blades will fit this tool. If you’d like a 400mm blade,
then you would also need a 400mm tool that is compatible.
Tile Saw Blade
A tile Saw blade is to be used in a tile saw. This is a tool used to cut
through hard tiles, such as ceramics or slate. The blades used in
table saws will most likely need to be cooled with water throughout
use, however some blades are designed with their own cooling
systems built into the blade such as ventilation holes.
Tile saws will fit blades with a diameter between 150mm and
350mm. This means that a lot of blades can be used with a tile saw.
However, it all depends on the material you are wanting to cut. A
tile saw will cut more than just tiles; however, tiles are what it is
designed for so it is most likely that you will require a blade that will
cut through ceramics and slate.

Search for a blade by material
There is a diamond blade for any material! This means that it can
sometimes be difficult to find the correct blade for the job. A
common mistake is to purchase a blade for the wrong material,
which will result in the material breaking, the blade breaking or the
blade simply not functioning.
