2.4: INSTALLING AND FIXING THE APPLIANCE
For all the instructions about product fi tting, ventilation, product fi xing to the cabinet, electrical connection, etc., refer
to the handbook you can fi nd inside of the product package.
2.5.1: Operative voltage:
Voltage values assuring the correct operation of the appliance are the following ones listed below:
230 Volts, with a range of +/-10 % and 50 Hz.
2.5.2: Operative feature: Power
It allows reaching the temperature set by the user rapidly, then the function quits automatically
and the hob starts working again at the power previously set by the user.
2.5: OPERATIVE FEATURES
CHAPTER 3: COMPONENTS
Display board
The display board consists of other boards (a Touch board, a Visual board and a Power board) and it controls
the radiant hob operation (it is managed as only one spare-part code in the warehouse).
The Touch board, located in the upper part, detects user instructions. These instructions are displayed by
the Visual board (located between the other two boards), in order to give a feedback of the setting the user
has selected.
The last one, the Power Board, located in the lower part, energizes and controls the electric loads, according
to the setting of the user, energizes the hotplate chosen, controls the operative temperature of the plate,
etc. These actions are carried out by means of general relays (which control the safety of the appliance),
and other relays controlling each hotplate (switching them on/off) and their special zones (if available).
Hotplates
Hotplates, which belong to this platform, are controlled by “Highlight” heaters. Their main features are the
capacity to become incandescent and to reach high temperatures rapidly.
The hotplates can be a single type, having only a “Highlight” heater. There may be also fi tted with a special
zone, that is, a single hotplate with an additional circular zone around the plate; it can also be half-moon
shaped, in “fi sh-kettle” hotplates, etc. Another type of hotplate is the mixed one, which consists of a Highlight
heater and a halogen lamp; this confi guration permits to reduce the time to reach the temperature, because
of the halogen lamp radiation, which optimizes the operation of the hotplate. Lastly, we have the halogen
mixed lamps with a special zone, which is a mix between the single hotplate, fi tted with a halogen lamp,
and the special zone added to it.

Sensor
Display Board NTC: It is located on the Visual Board, the one between the two other boards which the
Display Board consists of. The main function is to check the temperature on the
zone where controls are located, stopping the appliance operation if it rises (when
temperature reaches 105 °C)
Residual Heat Indicator
In Radiant Hobs, the residual heat indicator light is not controlled by sensors like NTC or PTC, but by sof-
tware.
According to the power set by the user and the time in which the hotplate has been energized, the Display
Board switches on the residual heat indicator light in two different ways: it displays the symbol “H” (capital
letter) to indicate that the temperature on the inductor is very high (over 60°C), and “h” (small letter) to in-
dicate that the temperature of the hotplate is not very high (it is included between 40°C and 60°C).

CHAPTER 4: TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
4.1: DEMO MODE:
Getting ready to use Demo Mode:
1. the hob is on
2. all the inductors are off
To select DEMO function, press and hold for 6 seconds TIMER “+” and “-” buttons simultaneously; then
POWER ON and BUTTON LOCK LED will fl ash for 1 second, now press the CLOCK button. The message
“dE MO” will appear on the display every 5 seconds for 1 second.
To quit the function, follow the same procedure you have followed to enter it.
Remark: Demo Mode is available only in hobs fi tted with a TIMER.
If Demo Mode is on, the TIMER indicates the minutes elapsed displaying the seconds.
4.2. AUTOTEST:
4.2.1: Autotest activation sequence:
Getting ready to use Autotest: the hob is off.
Press all the buttons from left to right and from the upper side to the lower side of the interface, without lea-
ving anyone of them. As you touch the icons with your fi nger, the appliance will emit a beep to confi rm it.
4.2.2: Sequence executed by the appliance
During the Autotest, all the inductors are energized beginning from the left-hand one on the lower part (the
rst one) up to the right-hand one on the lower part (the last one), in a clockwise order. Every inductor will
be energized at the maximum power for 15 seconds, then in Booster modality for the remaining 15 minutes,
even if the normal operation does not provide for it.
Between the ignition of one inductor and the next one, there is a pause of 30 seconds, to give the engineer
time for changing water contained in the pan during the Autotest.
Inductor Normal operation Booster
Large approx. 9,6 amp approx. 13,0 amp
Smal approx. 6,1 amp approx. 8,7 amp
4.2.3: How Fault are displayed.
If the hob does not indicate a Last Fault, the Autotest sequence will start immediately.
In case the appliance signals a Last Fault, before starting up the Autotest, the Last Fault will be displayed
for 20 seconds, and then, the Autotest sequence starts.
The Last Fault will be deleted from the memory at the end of the whole Autotest sequence.
If the Autotest is interrupted during the execution (because of the hob being turned off or powered off), the
Last Fault is not memorized as statistics, but it will be displayed by the appliance the next time the Autotest
function will start.
Important: The Fault will be displayed in all 7-segment if it affects the whole hob. It will be displayed
by two of the Power Board 7-segment, if the fault is due to one of these two Boards.
If the fault is due to only one Inductor, the Fault will be displayed only in the 7-segment
connected to the Inductor damaged, for example, a Fault to the NTC
4.2.4: Main board programming
There are three ways of programming the Display Board:
1 Using an hand-held/FFA (by means of MemWriter)
2 Using a PC (in UK)
3 Using the Smart Reader and the Smart Card.
At any case, refer to the document about each particular device.
