IKEA GUARANTEE
How long is the IKEA guarantee valid?
Thisguaranteeisvalidforve(5)yearsfrom
the original date of purchase of your appliance
atIKEA,unlesstheapplianceisnamedLAGAN
in which case two (2) years of guarantee
apply.Theoriginalsalesreceipt,isrequired
asproofofpurchase.Ifserviceworkiscarried
outunderguarantee,thiswillnotextendthe
guarantee period for the appliance.
Which appliances are not covered by the
IKEA ve (5) years guarantee?
TherangeofappliancesnamedLAGANand
allappliancespurchasedinIKEAbefore1stof
August 2007.
Who will execute the service?
IKEAserviceproviderwillprovidethe
servicethroughitsownserviceoperationsor
authorizedservicepartnernetwork.
What does this guarantee cover?
Theguaranteecoversfaultsoftheappliance,
whichhavebeencausedbyfaultyconstruction
or material faults from the date of purchase
fromIKEA.Thisguaranteeappliestodomestic
useonly.Theexceptionsarespeciedunder
theheadline“Whatisnotcoveredunderthis
guarantee?”Withintheguaranteeperiod,
the costs to remedy the fault e.g. repairs,
parts,labourandtravelwillbecovered,
providedthattheapplianceisaccessiblefor
repairwithoutspecialexpenditure.Onthese
conditionstheEUguidelines(Nr.99/44/
EG)andtherespectivelocalregulations
are applicable. Replaced parts become the
propertyofIKEA.
What will IKEA do to correct the problem?
IKEAappointedServiceProviderwillexamine
the product and decide, at its sole discretion,
ifitiscoveredunderthisguarantee.If
consideredcovered,IKEAServiceProvider
oritsauthorizedservicepartnerthroughits
ownserviceoperations,willthen,atitssole
discretion,eitherrepairthedefectiveproduct
or replace it with the same or a comparable
product.
What is not covered under this guarantee?
Normalwearandtear.•
Deliberateornegligentdamage,damage•
causedbyfailuretoobserveoperating
instructions, incorrect installation or by
connectiontothewrongvoltage,damage
caused by chemical or electrochemical
reaction, rust, corrosion or water damage
including but not limited to damage
causedbyexcessivelimeinthewater
supply, damage caused by abnormal
environmentalconditions.
Consumablepartsincludingbatteriesand•
lamps.
Non-functionalanddecorativepartswhich•
do not affect normal use of the appliance,
including any scratches and possible color
differences.
Accidental damage caused by foreign •
objects or substances and cleaning or
unblockingoflters,drainagesystemsor
soap drawers.
Damagetothefollowingparts:ceramic•
glass,accessories,crockeryandcutlery
baskets,feedanddrainagepipes,seals,
lampsandlampcovers,screens,knobs,
casingsandpartsofcasings.Unlesssuch
damagescanbeprovedtohavebeen
caused by production faults.
Caseswherenofaultcouldbefound•
duringatechnician’svisit.
Repairs not carried out by our appointed •
serviceprovidersand/oranauthorized
servicecontractualpartnerorwherenon-
originalpartshavebeenused.
Repairs caused by installation which is •
faultyornotaccordingtospecication.
The use of the appliance in a non-domestic •
environmenti.e.professionaluse.
