Installing Batteries in the Thunder Fox
You will need...
One 9V batteryfor theTransmitter
One AA battery for theQuad
Four AAbatteries for the PickUp
Put 9V Battery in the Transmitter
Loosenthescrew onthebattery compartmentcover witha Phillipsscrewdriver andremove the cover.
Insert one 9V battery and match the + and - signs with the product.
Replace the battery cover and secure with thescrew.
Put AA Batteries in the Pick Up
•SlidetheON/OFF swtichon the bottom rightsideofthePick Up to OFF.
Loosenthe screw onthebatterycompartment cover andremove the cover.
Insert fourAA batteriesandmatch the+ and -signs with theproduct.
Replace the battery cover andsecure it with the screw.
Put Batteries in the Quad
Use a coin to flipopen therear oftheseatto reveal the battery compartment.
Install one AA battery and match the +and-signs with theproduct.
Replacethe seat cover.

Driving the Thunder Fox
Driving the Pick Up
Snap the traileronto theback ofthePick Up.
Pull back the two slides to let the Quad ride
along.
•SlidetheOFF/ON switch onthebottom right
sideof the Pick Up toON.
Pull the triggeron the transmitterback todrive
forward. To drive in a backward circle, push the
triggerforward.
Releasethe trigger to stopthe Pick Up.
Note: Slide theplastic stand back on the trailer
when driving the Thunder Fox.

The Quad cannot be
operated with the
Remote Control.
You can manuallyadjust
the front wheel tomake
the Quadmove right, left
or straight.
Slide the switch to
Z
to let the Quad move for-
ward.

The Pick Upand Quadare not suitablefor childrenunder four years of age.
Never play with them in the street.
Remember to turn the Pick Upand Quad’spower switchesto OFF whenyou
finishplaying withthem.This provides longerbattery life.
Use andstore them only innormal temperature environments.
Checkthe Pick Up and Quad’s wheels frequently for dirt, debris,or lint.
To cleanthe Pick Up,Quad and/or transmitter, simplywipe themwith a damp
cloth.If theyget wet, dry them immediately.
When youdrive thePick Up with thetrailer, be sure topull the slides back.
Neverplay with your Pick Up or Quadin puddles, on a wetfloor, insand, mud,
rainor snow.
IfthePickUpgetsstuckunderanobject,immediatelyreleasethetriggeronthe
transmitter, andthen retrieveyour vehicle.
Modifyingortamperingwiththevehiclesinternalcomponentscancauseamal-
function and invalidatetheir warranty. Ifthey are not performing properly, take
them to your local RadioShackstorefor assistance.

If your PickUp movesslowlyor notat all,or behavior becomes erratic,
replace thebatteries. You maypurchase alkaline batteries at your local
RadioShack store.
If the Pick Upor Quad movesslowly after installing freshbatteries,check the
wheelsfor lint,thread, hair, and/or dust.
When the transmitter’s rangedecreases,replace your batteries.
Neverleave deador weak batteriesin the Pick Up,Quad or transmitter.
Use fresh batteries of the required size andrecommended typeonly.
Do notmix oldand new batteries.
Nevermix alkaline batterieswith othertypes ofbatteries.
If youdo notplanto usethe Pick Up orQuad forseveral days, removeall bat-
teriesfrom thetransmitter, Quad andthe Pick Up. Batteries can leak chemi-
cals that may destroy electronic parts.

Your Pick Up might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating
properly. To determine whether your Pick Up is causing the interference, turn it
off. If the interference goes away, your Pick Up is causing it. Try to eliminate the
interference by:
moving your Pick Up away from the receiver
contacting your local RadioShack store for help
If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC requires that youstop using your
Pick Up.

Running your Pick Upor Quad forlong periods
of time cangenerate high heat levels,which
resultin wear and tear on the motor. Ifthe Pick
Upor Quad’sbatterypowerdies,letthevehicles
cooldown for10 minutes beforeinstalling new
batteries.
If themotor runs,but does not respondto the
transmitter, move thetransmitter closer to the
PickUp andtry again.
Ifsomeoneis usingaCBnearby,thismaycause
interference. Move your Pick Up away from the
CB. You cannot operateyour Pick Up near
devices with transmitters that use the same fre-
quency.
