Oil: R&T 43 (01309-xx)
Grease: Grease Red (00146-xx)
1
Remove the original reservoir, drain the
steering damper from oil and rell it according
to the Öhlins Work shop manual (07620-01).
If the steering damper is almost new, you
may not need to change oil. Be careful when
removing the original reservoir so air will not
enter. Make sure there is oil up to the edge of
the steering damper body before proceeding
to step 3.
2
Disassemble the Piston reservoir by
unscrewing the cap (2212-03), take out the
spring (2215-04) and the two pistons by using
a M4 threaded long screw.
3
Mount the valve housing (2227-04) into the
steering damper body. Use a needle to open
the one way valve (as in the Öhlins Work shop
manual for the original reservoir) and push the
valve housing down into the steering damper
body as far as possible. Remove the needle
and use a 8 mm allen key to screw the valve
housing all the way in.
4
Fill with oil to the edge of the steering damper
body.
