1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
Indicates a potentially or imminently
hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
For the air conditioner to operate satisfactorily, install as outlined
in this installation manual.
Installation work must be performed in accordance with national
wiring standards by authorized personnel only.
Before installation, be sure that all sources of power have been
shut off. There is a danger of electric shock.
Never touch electrical components immediately after the power
supply has been turned off. Electrical shock may occur. After
turning off the power, always wait 5 minutes or more before
touching electrical components.
For installation purposes, be sure to use the parts supplied by
the manufacturer or other prescribed parts. The use of non-
prescribed parts can cause serious accidents such as the unit
falling, water leakage, electric shock, or re.
CAUTION
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation
that may result in minor or moderate injury or
damage to property.
Do not pull on the connectors with too much force.
Do not touch the aluminum n in the indoor unit.
When installing, do not cut or pinch the wires with the frames
or control box cover. An electric shock may occur if wires are
damaged.

2. ABOUT THE UNIT
2.1. General
This option is to make space between the units for the separable
duct type air conditioner. Before installing, please have the
installation manual of the indoor unit on hand for detailed
information.
2.2 Parts and accessories
• The following installation parts are furnished. Use them as
required.

3.1. Separating the unit
Refer to the “SEPARATION METHOD” attached to the control box
cover of the indoor unit.

3.2. Attaching the frames
(1) Remove 4 screws from the Heat exchanger unit.

(2) Attach the Heat exchanger frame with the 4 screws removed
in step 1, and 5 screws (accessories) on the upper part.

(3) Remove 2 screws from the Fan unit.

(4) Attach the Fan unit with the 2 screws removed in step 3, and
5 screws on the upper part.

When attaching the frames, hook the bottom part of the frame to
each unit and be sure there are no gaps.

3.3. Installing the units
Before installing the units between the beams, install a spacer on
the beams or platform to align the Heat exchanger unit and Fan
unit.

NOTES: Align the units so that there is no difference in height.

(1) Place the Heat exchanger unit (or Fan unit) on the spacer.

(2) Attach the Joint duct with 4 screws (accessories).

(3) Place the Fan unit (or the Heat exchanger unit) on the spacer.
Attach the unit to the Joint duct with 4 screws (accessories).

(4) Insert the Holding plate to both sides of the unit then tighten
with 2 screws (accessories) each.

NOTES:
Attach the holding plate on the opposite of the controller box
rst.
For ease of installment, leave the screw on the control box
side for last. Pinch the holding plate and control box as
shown, to attach the screw.
(5) Insert the Cable ties (4 places) and Cable clamps (4 places)
to the Joint duct on the right side of the unit (piping and
controller box side).

3.4. Wiring method
(1) Wire the thermistor wire as shown in the following gure.
Be sure to clamp the wires together with the cable tie and
cable clamps.

NOTE:
Other wires shown are for installation of drain pumps (option).
(2) Attach the EMI core (accessory) to the cable.
Make 2 loops around the core.
(3) Insert the cable in the slit in the foam then place the core
between the slit and cable clamp.
(4) Attach the connector to the PCB. (Refer to the installation
manual of the indoor unit.).
(5) After all installation work is complete, replace the control box
cover.
