DISPLAY:
ACCESS TO SPECIAL TRUCK MODES:
Press and hold the horn button while turning on the key (if so equipped) to
access Special Truck Modes.
Or…
Enter the Operator-Specific PIN Code followed by the green ON button. (The
factory default PIN is 1.)
Continue to hold the horn button while the display (read in the numeric field)
scrolls through the following modes:
H = Hour Meter Readings
E = Error Codes
P = Parameters
Pn = Software / Hardware Versions
Release the horn button when the mode you are seeking is displayed.

HOUR METER READINGS:
With H (Hour Meter) shown in the display and the Hour Meter icon illuminated,
you may choose to view other displays by simply rotating the thumb lever.
You can then scroll through the following Hour Meter functions with the thumb
lever:
A = Key Switch Hours
B = Activity Hours (drive, lift and lower)
C = Drive Motor Hours
D = Pump Motor Hours
E = Service Reminder Meter
Simply release the thumb lever when the Hour Meter you are seeking is reached,
and the appropriate reading will appear.
Press the red OFF button to exit the hour meter mode.
ERROR CODE HISTORY:
After accessing the Special Truck Mode, hold the horn button until E (Error
Codes) appears on the display and the wrench icon is illuminated.
Then simply use the thumb control to scroll either forward or backward through
the Error Code History.
Release the thumb lever when the number of the Error Code (1 through 50)
appears.
The display will first show the error code then the hour meter when it occurred.
Again rotate the thumb lever until the next Error Code 1 thru 50 appears.
Release the lever and the new error and hour meter reading will appear on the
display.
Simply press the red OFF button to exit.
NOTE: Error codes are divided into C (Caution) and E (Error). C codes are not
stored in memory as they are only cautions.

PROGRAMMING TRUCK PARAMETERS:
Access the Special Truck Mode just as before.
Release the horn button when P (Parameters) appears on the display and the
parameter control icon is illuminated.
Use the thumb lever to scroll up or down to the parameter you wish to change or
view, as shown on the chart on the following slide. Release the lever when the
parameter you are seeking is shown.
Press the horn button once to gain access to adjustment of the selected
parameter. The parameter symbol on the display will now flash.
To change the parameter setting, simply rotate the thumb lever to the desired
setting. Then press the horn button to confirm the change. End parameter
changes with the red OFF button.
Exit Parameter mode by simply pressing the red OFF button.
NOTE: Additional parameters, called Service Parameters, are accessible only
with the use of a Service Key. Please refer to the 7HBW23 Service Manual for
further details.

SOFTWARE / HARDWARE VERSIONS:
Enter the Special Truck Mode as before.
Continue to hold the horn button until Pn appears on the display then release the
horn.
Then, as before, scroll with the thumb lever to view the following:
HPn = Hardware Part Number
HSn= Hardware Serial Number
Then, simply end this section by pressing the red OFF button on the keypad.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
In addition to the material covered, the 7HBW23 has many additional items to display
such as:
Battery voltage at the ETAC
Motor armature and field current
Inputs from various switches
Refer to the 7HBW23 Service Manual for additional information

SERVICE KEY:
Connect the Service Key in point J41 and press the green ON key to start the lift truck.
The battery status should now be shown, and the battery icon should be illuminated
continually.
Simply press the horn button to toggle between the display modes listed in the following
table.
NOTE: When more than one letter is shown in the chart, each of those icons will be
illuminated.
