Overview
ThinkServer TS150 and TS450
The Lenovo ThinkServer TS150 is a follow-on system of the Lenovo ThinkServer
TS140. The Lenovo ThinkServer TS450 is a follow-on system of the Lenovo
ThinkServer TS440.
The TS150 and TS450 are 4U, one processor socket tower servers. The TS150
supports the latest Intel Celeron, Pentium, Core i3, and Xeon E3-1200 v5 family
processors. The TS450 supports the Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 family processors only.
Note: The equivalent model of the TS150 in China is TS250 and the equivalent model
of the TS450 in China is TS550. For reference, in this course, only TS150 and TS450
are used.

The TS150 and TS450 key features include:
TS150: Support for one Intel Celeron, Pentium, Core i3, Xeon E3-1200 v5 series
processor
TS450: Support Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 series processor
Four DDR4 DIMM slots, minimum 4 GB, maximum 64 GB (16 GB UDIMM x 4)
Intel Greenlow C236 chipset
Support for optional storage drive conversion kit (TS150 only)
Support for easy-swap and hot-swap hard disk drive (TS450 only)
Support software RAID configuration
Power supply (depending on model):
o TS150: fixed power supply only
o TS450: support fixed power supply or hot-swap power supply
Support for Lenovo ThinkServer EasySetup v4.0.1a

The TS150 supports an optional storage drive convertor kit. Figure 10 shows the 2.5-
inch drive convertor kit for the TS150 storage drive bay 3.

Note: For TS150, if installing a 2.5-inch HDD drive or SSD drive into a 3.5-inch drive
bay, install the drive into a 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch drive adapter first. For more details about
internal drive installation of the TS150, refer to ThinkServer TS150 Hardware
Maintenance Manual on Lenovo support (Available after December 7, 2015).

BIOS options
Most of the BIOS options for the TS150 and TS450 are the same as the predecessors.
Refer to the following sections for the major changes of the TS150 and TS450 BIOS.
PCI express configuration
A new PCI Express Configuration option is available on the Devices page as shown in
Figure 15. Users can configure the PCI slot speed in BIOS through this option.

OS optimized defaults
A new OS Optimized defaults option is available on the Exit page as shown in Figure
16.

Note: If the system installed Windows 10 on the system, Lenovo suggests that users
enable this option to optimize the OS performance. If the system installed an OS other
than Windows 10; for example, Windows 2012 or Linux OS, the OS optimized option
must be disabled. If not, users may not boot to the OS successfully.
