This device is designed to receive and play
radio programmes and to play various
digital sound storage media in motor
vehicles. Any use contrary to the
instructions may result in electric shock
and danger to life may arise. Likewise,
any warranty claims become void.
Never open your CD car radio. No control
elements are contained inside. Leave any
repair works to a qualified workshop
authorized by us.
The device is designed for operation with
12V=direct voltage . Never try to
operate the device with a different
voltage.
In case that any metallic objects or
liquids should enter into the device,
separate the device immediately from the
voltage and ask your dealer for advice.
Never let children play with the device or
let them stick anything into the openings
because this might damage the device.
Incorporate the device into the
dashboard or middle console of a car as
described in the instructions. Do not
mount the device on t op of the
dashboard, since this would impair your
view on the street. In addition, sunlight
might lead to overheating and thus
damage the device.
If you do not follow the instructions when
connecting the device with the supply
voltage this might lead to a discharge of
the car battery. In that case you will not
be able to start the car.
Only operate the device by means of the
instructions given here if your car’s frame
is connected to the negative pole of the
battery.
Traffic safety must always be your guiding
principle. Please make sure that operating
the car radio does not distract you from
what is going on on the street.
Make yourself familiar with the device and
how it is operated before you start driving.
Please operate the car radio always with
an appropriate volume, so you can hear
acoustic signals of other vehicles,
especially those of police and rescue
services, in good time.
To minimise the risk of theft of the car
radio, we have fitted the device with a
detachable panel. So whenever you leave
the car
- switch off the device,
- remove the panel,
- put it into the box provided and take it
with you. Do not leave it in the car!
Do not leave the detachable panel in direct
sunlight. Do not touch the contacts.

Installation instructions
We recommend to entrust a garage with the installation of your new car radio. Then please
hand these instructions to the garage staff. If you install your new car radio yourself, please
follow these instructions carefully.
Place of installation
If there are several possible places in your car to install the car radio, please bear in mind
the following points:
Decide for a place that you think will later make it easy for you to operate the device.
The installation place must not interfere with the processes and visibility conditions in
your car.
Avoid installing your car radio in places that would subject the device to high
temperatures, be it through direct sunlight or the car heating.
Avoid installing your car radio in places that would subject the device to excessive dust or
dirt, e.g. near the ash tray. You also should avoid installing your car radio in places that
subject the device to increased levels of vibration
The angle of inclination of the device should not exceed 20°. Please use the supplied
installation material only.

Turn off the power of the main unit first.
Press the button to bring down the control panel.
Press the clip until a “click” sound is heard.
Carefully pull out the build-in flash MP3 player from the unit.
ISO connection
The car radio is fitted with an ISO connection. Please check before installation if the
necessary electrical connections in the dashboard are provided by a corresponding ISO
plug. If that is not the case, you can purchase such a plug in a car accessories store. The
wiring of the plug is printed on the respective cable sections. Connect the cables of the ISO
plug with the cables in the dashboard of your car.
For your orientation, please find the wiring listed below:

Replacing the fuse
The main fuse is situated next to the ISO connection. If you cannot switc h on the device in
spite of correct installation and power supply, this fuse might be blown. In this case please
replace the fuse with one of the same type. If the replaced fuse blows as well, it might be
due to a malfunction in the device. In this case please contact your dealer or the office
specified in the guarantee.
Warning: Always replace a damaged fuse with a new fuse of the same type.
”Patching up“ fuses or using a fuse allowing a higher current might destroy the device. In
addition all warranty claims will become void.

Here we go!
Please remove the MP3 unit first to avoid damaging it.
1. First loosen the two screws from the upper casing. Now you can push the
installation frame backward and remove it from the device casing.
2. Insert the installation frame into the installation hole in the dashboard.
3. Push the metal links in the upper and lower part of the installation frame
outward, so that the installation frame is secured tightly in the installation
hole.
4. Take the ISO plug from the dashboard and insert it into the connection at
the back side of the car radio. Insert the plug of the aerial cable into the
aerial socket. Now gently push the car radio into the installation frame until
the lateral metal pieces click into place.
Make sur e you keep the unlocking keys because without them you cannot
dismount the car radio!

5. You should also fasten the car radio from behind, if possible. Please refer
to the illustrations below.
6. After the installation is completed, re-attach the MP3 unit.
Dismounting
If you once should want to dismount the device, please follow these instructions:
1
. Pull off the black plastic frame. You
might need some strain to do so.
2
. Then insert the unlocking keys one
each left and right through the lateral
slots between the casing front and the
installation frame. That way the metal
pieces with which the installation frame
secures the radio are pushed outward
a bit.
3
. Move the unlocking keys deep enough
into the slots so that the notch of the
key is located directly under the plastic
guide.
4
. Now slightly lift both keys and use
them to pull out the radio from the
installation frame.

General operation
Switching the radio on / off
Press the PWR button with the car ignition turned on to switch on the device. The buttons
now light up in blue and you can read Welcome in the display, which quickly disappears.
Then the radio frequency is displayed. Push the button again to switch off the device.
Controlling the volume
Turn the VOL knob clockwise to increase the volume. In the display you can read a value
between 0 and 45. Turn the knob anticlockwise to reduce the volume.
Tone control
Bass
When you press the PUSH SELECT button twice, BAS appears in the display for five
seconds. Now turn the VOL knob to lower or raise deep frequencies. The respective value
from -7 to + 7 is shown in the display.
Treble
When you press the PUSH SELECT button three times, TRE appears in the display for five
seconds. Now turn the VOL knob to lower or raise high frequencies. The respective value
from -7 to + 7 is shown in the display.
Balance
When you push the PUSH SELECT button four times, BAL appears in the display for five
seconds. Now turn the VOL knob to adjust the volume ratio between right and left
loudspeakers. The respective value between 10L (left side only) and 0 (centred) to 10R
(right side only) is shown in the display.
Fader
When you push the PUSH SELECT button five times, FAD appears in the display for five
seconds. Now turn the VOL knob to adjust the volume ratio between front and rear
loudspeakers. The respective value between 10R (rear loudspeakers only) and 0 (centred)
to 10F (front loudspeakers only) is shown in the display.

Radio mode
When switching it on the device runs in the radio mode. To switch to radio mode from other
operation modes, push the MODE button so many times until a frequency or the name of a
radio station is shown in the display.
What is RDS?
RDS (Radio Data System) is a system for transmission of additional information with the FM
radio programme transmitted in many European countries. RDS radio tuner can filter this
information from the transmit signal and use it for various functions. This device uses the
following RDS functions:
Display of the name of the radio station
Display of programme type (PTY) and search for programme contents
Display of time
in the display. When you are tuned to a station that transmits RDS information, the name of
the radio station is automatically displayed.
Selecting the frequency band
Press the BD/ENTER button several times to select the desired frequency band: FM1 / FM2 / FM3
= FM, MW 1 / MW 2 = AM (Medium wave).
Searching for radio stations
Area Scan
Briefly press the SCN button to start a search run that is constantly scanning the current
frequency range. The car radio will play every radio station it finds for a few seconds before

Press the SKIP button or to search for next available station.
Press and hold the SKIP button or will activate MANUAL tuning.
continuing the search run. When the car radio finds a programme you would like to listen to,
press the SCN button again to stop the search run.
Saving radio stations
Saving radio stations manually
If you want to call up your favourite radio stations by station buttons you will have to save
them first. You can save
18 stations from FM band
12 stations from MW band and.
Since the device only has 6 station buttons, the FM band is divided into FM1 / FM2 / FM3 (3 x
6 = 18). Each F range comprises the entire frequency range to select from but at the same
time stands for different groups of saved stations:
FM 1 = stations 1 - 6
FM 2 = stations 7 - 12
FM 3 = statio ns 13 - 18
To save your favourite radio stations e.g. from the FM band you have to proceed as follows:
1. Select the frequency range FM1.
2. Tune to the first station you want to save.
3. Hold down the station button 1 for one second. Station number ”1“ appears
in the display and the station is now saved.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to allocate radio stations to the buttons 2-6
5. Press the BD/ENTER button to activate frequency range FM2.
6. Select the next 6 radio stations and save them as described above.
7. Repeat the described steps to save 6 more radio stations in FM3.
Saving radio stations automatically
As an alternative, you can also have the device save radio stations it receives with a strong
signal and allocate them to a station number. Just hold down the A/PS button for one
second in the desired frequency range. Once the device has saved the stations it starts
playing each one for a few seconds. If you want to stop this and continue to listen to the
station that is being played just press the A/PS button briefly.
Calling up saved stations
To call up the saved stations, select the F range first and then briefly press the
corresponding station button. If you press the A/PS button briefly, the radio will play the
saved stations in the current F range for a few seconds each. If you want to stop this and
continue to listen to the station that is being played just press the A/PS button briefly again.

When this key is pressed, it is operated as the conversion of each display mode as follow.
1) In case of receiving RDS station.

Press the AF button to turn ON/OFF alternative frequencies.
When AF/REG switching mode is selected, the radio checks the signal strength of the AF
all the time. When pressed long, it is activated as regional mode ON/OFF.
– Regional mode ON:
AF switching or PI SEEK is implemented to the station which have all PI codes same
as current station. REG segment is turned on, in LCD display.
– Regional mode OFF:
The regional code in the format of PI code is ignored when AF switching or PI SEEK
is implemented.
Press the TA button to turn ON/OFF traffic announcements.
When TA mode is on and traffic announcement is transmitted.
When the unit is in CD/MP3 mode, it will switch to radiomode temporarily.
If the volume level was under the threshold point, it will be raised to the threshold
point.
When TP station is received, TP segment is turned on in LCD display.
Press and hold the PTY button to turn ON/OFF Program type feature.
Turning VOL knob (right/left) to choose different Program Types.
Press PTY button again to start tuning to the selected program as below.

CD mode
Take an audio CD or an MP3 disc you have compiled with your computer and insert it
carefully printed side up into the disc slot. As soon as you have inserted the disc to
approximately half of its diameter, the device will start to transport the disc, automatically
switch to CD mode and start to play the disc. Reading MP3 discs will take a bit longer. If
there is already a disc in the disc drive, press the MODE button to switch from radio mode to
disc mode. The disc will automatically be played starting at the point where it had been
stopped. Once the device has played all tracks of a disc it will start again with the first track
Track selection and search
When playing a disc you can call up tracks by repeatedly pressing the TUNE/ TRACK
/
buttons briefly. Press the button twice to call up previous tracks and the button to call
up subsequent tracks.
When playing a MP3-CD press the 5 - button to skip 10 tracks backward, press the
6 - button to skip 10 tracks forward.

In the play mode you can select certain parts of a track by holding down the TUNE/TRACK
/ buttons and so fast forward ( ) or fast backward ( ). When you let go the button,
the track will be played normally again. During fast forward and fast backward the disc in
the display will rotate faster. When playing a MP3-CD the volume is muted.
Pause Button
During “PLAY”, press PAU button to “PAUSE” playback. Press the button once more to
resume play.
Repeat Mode
Press ‘RPT’ button to continuously repeat the currently played track. To cancel REPEAT,
press the button once more.
Intro Button (Preview all Tracks)
Press ‘INT’ button to preview all tracks. The first 10 seconds of each track of the disc are
played in normal progression. To cancel INTRO, press the button once more.
Random Button
Press ‘RDM’ button to play tracks in random instead of normal progression. To cancel
RANDOM, press the button once more.

M5: 10 Track down / M6: 10 Track up
Searching by Track
Press AS/PS, then searching track is activated. First digit will blink.
Press or to select the first digit.
Press SEL button to confirm. Second digit will blink for selection.
Repeat steps above for second and third digit.
Press BD/ENT button to start playing.
Searching by Character
Press AS/PS twice, then character search is activated. The first character will blink.
Press or to select the first character.
Press SEL button. Second character will blink for selection.
Repeat steps above for second and third character.
Press BD/ENT button to confirm.
The song which has the same character selected will be displayed.
Press or to select the song you want to play.
Press BD/ENT button to start playing.
Searching by Folder
Press AS/PS 3 times, then folder search is activated. The first folder will be displayed.
Press or to select the desired folder.
Press BD/ENT button to start playing.

Recording operations
The unit allows recording and stores it in the build in flash MP3 player.
CD MODE:
1. Select the desired track and play.
2. Press and hold REC• button. Choose between ‘NAND ONE TRACK’ or ‘NAND ALL
TRACK’ recording by pressing REC• button.
NAND ONE TRACK – Records currently played track.
NAND ALL TRACK – Records all tracks in the CD.
3. Press BD/ENT button to start recording. ‘REC’ starts flashing on the display.
4. To exit recording, press the BD/ENT button.
MP3 MODE:
1. Select the desired track and play.
2. Press and hold REC• button.
3. Recording starts and the copy percentage shows in the display.
4. To exit recording, press the BD/ENT button.
FM MODE:
1. Select the desired station.
2. Press and hold REC• button.
3. ‘REC’ starts flashing on the display.
4. To exit recording, press the BD/ENT button.
VOICE RECORDING:
1. Press MODE repeatedly and choose “NAND”.
2. Press and hold REC• button, then voice recording will start.
3. To exit recording, press the BD/ENT button.
DELETING FILES:
You can delete the music in the flash mp3.
1. Press MODE repeatedly and choose “NAND”.
2. Using / button, select the file you want to delete.
3. Press SCN button to delete files.
4. Press BD/ENT button to confirm.
RESET
Reset button (24) is placed on the housing.
The reset button is to be activated for the following reason:
Initial installation of the unit when all wiring is completed.
All the function button do not operate.
Error symbol on the display.
To Remove the Flash MP3 Player
1. Turn off the power of the main unit first.
2. Press the button to bring down the control panel.
3. Press the clip until a “click” sound is heard.
4. Carefully pull out the build-in flash MP3 player from the unit.

Installing Driver (for Windows 98 only)
You need to install the MP3 flash player driver for Windows 98 system before connecting
it to the computer. This unit includes a driver support disc for Windows 98. Open and
follow the readme.txt file on how to install the driver.
Charging Battery
This MP3 flash player comes with a built-in battery. You can charge by connecting it to
the computer’s USB port or by attaching it back to the head unit. Make sure to power on
the head unit for it to charge. While charging, battery indicator will scroll and will stop
scrolling when it is full.
Charging time: 4 hours
Playback time: 3.5 hours
Connecting MP3 Player to Computer
IMPORTANT: Make sure to POWER ON the MP3 player before connecting the USB cable
to the computer.
FLASH MP3 OPERATIONS
The display module of the unit can be used as a standalone flash MP3 player.

POWER OFF - Press and hold STOP over 4 seconds to turn off the unit.

Press button to start playing the track.
3. FAST TRACKING
While the track is being played, press and hold REW or FF for fast backward or
fast-forward play of the track.
4. SKIP / RETURN TRACKING
Press FF to skip forward to the next track. Press REW to skip backward to the
beginning of track. Press REW repeatedly to skip backward to previous track.
5. DIGITAL VOLUME CONTROL
To adjust the volume, press VOL+ to increase or VOL- to decrease the volume.
6. PAUSING PLAYBACK
While the track is being played, press to pause the current playback. Press the
button once more to resume playback.
7. STOPPING PLAYBACK
Press STOP button to stop playback.
8. BROWSING FILES
Press and hold button to browse files. Using VOL+ / VOL- to select folder name
and press FF to enter the selected folder. To play selected file, press FF. To exit,
simply press STOP button.
Note: RECORD folder is used by the system to store recording files. Please do not

9. EQUALIZER
a. In [PLAY MODE], press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘EQUALIZER’.
Press MENU again to enter.
b. Press FF/REW and choose between NORMAL/ROCK/JAZZ/CLASSICAL/POP.
Press MENU again to confirm.
10. PLAY MODE
a. In [PLAY MODE], press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘PLAY MODE’.

b. Press FF/REW and choose between REPEAT FOLDER/REPEAT ALL/REPEAT

11. GENERAL SETTINGS
a. In [PLAY MODE], press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘SETTING’.
Press MENU again to enter.
b. Press FF/REW and choose between the following:
CONTRAST – sets the contrast of the display.
BACKLIGHT – sets how many seconds the backlight will turn off
IDLE SHUTDOWN sets how long the unit turns off automatically after being idle.
INFORMATION – displays used and available free memory
FACTORY SETTING – sets the unit back to factory default settings.
FORMAT – formats the build-in flash memory.
ID3 LANGUAGE – sets the ID3 language for mp3 files. Select between East
or West Europe.
c. Press MENU again to confirm.
12. PLAY SPEED SETTINGS
a. In [PLAY MODE], press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘PLAY SPEED’.
Press MENU again to enter.
b. Adjust the speed using FF/REW button. 100% is normal play.
c. Press MENU again to confirm.
FM operations:
1. ENTER FM RADIO MODE
a. Press MENU, With REW/FF button, press and select [FM RADIO].
b. Press MENU again to enter FM mode. Radio station’s frequency will be shown
in the display.
Note: The earphone is also the antenna of FM radio. Make sure that the earphone is
connected to the MP3 Player.
2. PRESET STATION
a. In [FM MODE], Press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘PRESET’. Press
MENU again to enter.
b. Press FF/REW turn ON/OFF preset stations.
c. Press MENU again to confirm.
3. AUTO SCANNING THE WHOLE FM BAND
a. In [FM RADIO], press and hold over 2 seconds.
b. First 20 FM station detected will be stored in the preset memory.
4. HOW TO SAVE DESIRED FM BAND IN MEMORY CHANNEL
a. Make sure to set the PRESET station to OFF to activate manual tuning.
b. In [FM MODE], press REW/FF to tune to desired stations.
c. Press then REW/FF to choose the desired preset memory location.
d. Press again to store it to the PRESET memory.
5. STEREO/MONO
a. In [FM MODE], Press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘SOUND’. Press
MENU again to enter.
b. Press FF/REW and choose between STEREO/MONO selections.
c. Press MENU again to confirm.
Voice and audio recording
You can record by the built-in microphone or LINE-IN (3.5mm jack cable).

Enter record mode
Press MENU, With REW/FF button, press and select [RECORD]. Press MENU once
more to confirm.
1. Recording by MIC
Make sure unit is in STOP (standby) mode and no cable connected to LINE-IN.
a. In [RECORD MODE], press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘RECORDING
INPUT’. Press MENU again to enter.
b. Press FF/REW and choose ‘VOICE’. Press MENU again to enter.
c. Press FF/REW and choose ‘VAD’. With FF/REW, choose ‘OFF’.
Press MENU again to confirm.
d. With REW/FF button , select Exit to go back to Record Mode.
e. Press to start recording and STOP to stop recording.
2. Recording by LINE-IN
Plug one end of a 3.5mm jack cable to the LINE-IN of the unit. Plug the other end
to an external audio source.
a. In [RECORD MODE], Press and hold MENU. With FF/REW, choose ‘RECORD
ING INPUT’. Press MENU again to enter.
b. Press FF/REW and choose ‘LINE-IN’. Press MENU again to enter.
c. With REW/FF button , select Exit to go back to Record Mode.
d. Press to start recording and STOP to stop recording.
3. RECORD QUALITY SETTINGS
a. In [RECORD MODE], press and hold MENU. Choose ‘RECORDING MODE’.
Press MENU again to enter.
b. With REW/FF button , select the different KBPS settings.
Press MENU to confirm.
4. VAD SETTINGS
VAD is setting the sensitivity of the microphone. When recording from mic, it is
recommended to set it to ‘OFF’.
a. In [RECORD MODE], press and hold MENU. Choose ‘VAD’.
Press MENU again to enter.
b. With REW/FF button , select between ‘OFF’, ‘LOW’, or ‘HIGH’.
OFF – starts recording immediately without detecting voice level.
LOW – only start recording if the voice is a little bit above normal.
HIGH – only start recording if the voice is very loud.
c. Press MENU to confirm.
5. AUTO SYNC SETTINGS
AUTO SYNC makes synchronization recording with the LINE-IN recording device.
a. In [RECORD MODE], press and hold MENU. Choose ‘AUTO SYNC’.
Press MENU again to enter.
b. With REW/FF button , select between ‘OFF’, ‘1,2,3,4 sec.’
OFF – starts LINE-IN recording immediately.
1 sec – adds 1 sec to file before and after recording.
2 sec – adds 2 sec to file before and after recording.
3 sec – adds 3 sec to file before and after recording.
4 sec – adds 4 sec to file before and after recording.
c. Press MENU to confirm.
