WITH AHV180/AHV240 AND AHH180/AHH240 SERIES UNITS
Package 1 or 1 contains:
1- Electric element/harness!control box assembly
4- Bolts
4- Washers
4- Lockwashers
1- Plastic bushing
1- Strain relief bushing
1- Snap hole plug

Installation of these electric heaters must conform
with standards in National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) "Standard for Installation of Air
Conditioning and Ventilation Systems NFPA No.
90A," "Standard for the Installation of Residence
Type Warm Air Heating and Air Conditioning Systems
NFPA No. 90B," manufacturer's installation
instructions and local municipal building codes.
Heaters are approved for clearance to combustible
materials as listed on heater rating plate. Accessibility
and service clearances must take precedence over
fire protection clearances. All wiring must conform
with local codes and the National Electric Code (NEC)
ANSI-C1.
ES180/240 series heaters are used as primary heaters
for AHV and AHH series units. These heaters may be
installed in either upflow or horizontal application
and are designed for indoor use only.
ES180 heaters are used with AHV180/AHH180 units.
ES240 heaters are used with AHV240iAHH240 units.
1-Remove duct work from supply air side of
blower/coil unit (if unit has been previously
installed).
2- Remove blower access panel.
3-Apply provided insulation strips around the
adjoining cabinet surfaces. See figures 1 and 2.
4- Remove 3" knockout in corner of AHV/AHH unit.
5-Align heater unit with blower/coil unit; four
mounting holes in blower coil cabinet line up with
four spot nuts in ES unit and pipe nipple on ES
unit lines up with knockout just removed. Refer to
figures 1 and 2.
6- Bolt the two cabinets together using bolts and
washers provided.

If ES heater is being installed in an existing AHV or
AHH installation, a change in power supply wiring
will be required. Remove original supply wires or
disconnect source and blower contactor kit. Install
snap hole plug in mullion.
1- The ES unit contains the blower motor contactor
relay, wiring harness and subfusing. Route the
blower motor harness from the blower motor
contactor through the box containing the
subfusing though the wiring conduit nipple into
the blower/coil unit to the blower motor wiring
make-up box. Secure the strain relief bushing,
provided, at the blower motor wiring make-up
box. See wiring diagram figure 3 for proper
wiring.
2- High and low voltage field wiring provisions are
provided in the ES series units.
ES electric heater applications require specific blower
air volumes. To determine unit cfm, refer to the
AHV/AHH series installation instructions.
Refer to AHV/AHH series installation instructions and
to the AHV/AHH series heater installed nameplate for
proper duct connections and clearances.
Set room sensor for proper HEAT or AUTO operation
if switching subbase is used. Close disconnect switch
and position heat setpoint lever above room
temperature.
