1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Important Warnings
Before using your appliance read this instructions manual carefully and
keep it in a safe place as you may need to consult it in the future.
Before turning on your appliance, and to ensure a safe and correct
operation, do not use if:

This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 and by
people with reduced physical, sensorial or mental capabilities and/or
lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given instructions
on using the appliance safely and if they understand the hazards
involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and
maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.

1.1. Power Supply
Make sure the main voltage is compatible with the appliance’s. If this is
not the case please consult the Customer Support Service.
1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables
Do not tangle the cord or pull it to disconnect the appliance. Also, keep
the cord away from warm surfaces.
Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket.
Take it to the Technical Support Service for replacement.
1.3. Humidity and Water
Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance
to become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous.
To avoid re hazard or electric shock do not expose your appliance
to humidity or water. Furthermore, do not place your appliance under
water (e.g. for cleaning).

1.4. Cleaning
Unplug the cord from the power supply after using the sandwich
maker and wait until it cools down, cleaning afterwards its inside with a
wet cloth. Also check if the exterior side is clean.
Remove the oil residues that may exist by soaking them with a kitchen
cloth. Do not rinse the sandwich maker by emerging it in water, to
avoid electrical discharges or operation problems in the appliance.
Wipe the outside with an only slightly moistened cloth making sure
that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots.
Do not clean the inside or outside with abrasive scouring pads or steel
wool as this will damage the nish.
Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
1.5. General Precautions
• Please follow the instructions in the user manual which help to
properly install and operate this product and enjoy its advanced
features. Please keep the instructions for future reference.
• Read all instructions before using the product.
• Maintenance and service operations are only to be carried out by
authorized dealers.
• Any damage caused by manual modications to the product is not
covered by the warranty.
• If this product is used for other purposes than originally designed, or
if it is not correctly connected, the product may suer damage and
the warranty will be voided.

• The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when
the appliance is in use. Make sure not to touch these hot parts of the
appliance.
• Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of
space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
• Do not place the product on or near a gas or electric burner, or
inside or on top of a heated oven or other heat source.
• Do not allow the product to touch curtains, wall coverings, clothing,
dishtowels, or other ammable materials during its use.
• Do not touch the product’s hot surfaces. Do not move the product
while it is plugged in. Allow the product to thoroughly cool before
handling it.
• Do not use attachments not recommended for use with this product
or not sold by the product manufacturer.
• Do not use the product near water or other liquids.
• Do not place or drop the product into water or other liquids. If the
product falls into water, unplug it from the power outlet immediately.
Do not touch or reach into the water.
• Do not leave the product unattended when it is in use. The
appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external
timer or separate remote-control system.
• Do not put pull the Power Cord where it connects to the product as
it could fray and break.
• Do not plug or unplug the product into/from a power outlet with wet
hands.

• This product is intended for indoor, non-industrial, non-commercial,
household use and only as a sandwich maker and healthy grill. Do
not use the appliance outdoors or for any other purpose.
• Do not let the Power Cord hang where it may be tripped over or
pulled (e.g., over the edge of a table or counter).
• To avoid a circuit overload when using this product, do not operate
another high-wattage product on the same electric circuit.
• A short power supply cord is shipped with this product. An extension
cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must
be used:
- The marked electric rating of the cord must at least be equal to
that of the product.
- Arrange the extension cord so that it does not hang where it can
be tripped over or pulled unintentionally.
- Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food. All
food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this
product.
- During the initial uses of this product, it may produce some
smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.

2. USE AND OPERATION

1. Before using this product for the rst time, clean it as described in
the “Care and Maintenance” section.
2. Press the end of the Locking Latch nearest the Handle to unlock the
product.
3. Open the unit by pulling the Handle up.
4. Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into a standard
power outlet. Check that the Power Indicator Light is orange.
WARNING: The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the unit will
become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear
heat resistant mitts or gloves and only touch the black portion of the
Handle.
5. After the unit has preheated for approximately ve minutes, the
Ready Indicator Light will turn green, indicating the product is ready
for use.

6. Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the Lower Plate
using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.
CAUTION: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will
scratch and damage the Plates’ non-stick coating.
7. Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top of the food.
NOTES:
• The cooking time for dierent food depends on the type and
thickness of the food.
• Food should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
8. When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to open the
Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more food is to be
cooked, close the Plates to maintain the heat.
9. Repeat Steps 7-9 until all cooking is complete, reapplying cooking oil
as necessary.
10. Turn o the product by unplugging the Power Cord from the power
outlet.
11. When the unit has completely cooled, clean and dry it.
12. Lock the unit in its closed position by pressing the end of the
Locking Latch farthest from the Handle.

BECKEN has designed this appliance in order to guarantee maximum
reliability. However, if a problem occurs do not attempt to open the
appliance - there is a risk of electrical shock. If you are not able to solve
the problem, please contact the Costumer Support Service of any
Worten, Modelo or Continente store in order to be assisted. Worten
Equipamentos para o Lar provides a 2-year warranty for manufacturing
defects from the date of purchase of the appliance.
WARNING: Any attempt to repair the appliance without contacting the
manufacturer or seller will void the warranty.
All users must be familiar with these instructions. Knowing what could
go wrong can help prevent problems from occurring.
4. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
In order to protect the environment we strive to
reduce the volume of packaging used, limiting
it to three easily sorted materials: cardboard,
paper and plastic. The appliance is manufactured
using recyclable materials after disassembled
by a specialized company. Please comply with
local regulations concerning the recycling of all
materials.

Este aparato podrá ser utilizado por niños de ocho años o más y

supervisión o se les haya proporcionado instrucciones para usar este
aparato de un modo seguro, y entiendan los riesgos que conlleva. Los
niños no deben jugar con el aparato. La limpieza y mantenimiento no
deben ser realizados por niños sin supervisión.

1.1. Alimentación
Compruebe que la tensión de la red eléctrica es compatible con la
indicada en el aparato. En caso de que no sea compatible, consulte al
Servicio de Atención al Cliente.
1.2. Cable de alimentación y otros cables
No enrolle el cable de alimentación ni tire de él para desenchufar el
aparato. Asimismo, manténgalo alejado de supercies calientes.
Nunca utilice este aparato si el cable o el enchufe están dañados.
En su lugar, llévelo a un servicio técnico autorizado para que proceda a
su sustitución.
1.3. Humedad y agua
No utilice el aparato en lugares húmedos. No deje que el aparato se
moje en ninguna circunstancia, pues puede ser peligroso. Para evitar
el peligro de incendio o descarga eléctrica, no exponga el aparato al
agua o la humedad. Asimismo, no sumerja el aparato (por ejemplo, para
limpiarlo).

1.4. Limpieza
Desconecte el cable de la toma de corriente después de utilizar la
sandwichera y espere hasta que se enfríe. A continuación, limpie su
interior utilizando un paño húmedo. Verique igualmente si el exterior
se encuentra limpio.
Retire los restos de aceite que puedan quedar, pasando un papel o un
paño de cocina. No sumerja la sandwichera en agua para enjuagarla
ya que, si lo hace, podrá provocar descargas eléctricas o problemas de
funcionamiento en el aparato.
Limpie el exterior únicamente con un paño ligeramente húmedo,
asegurándose de que no entra nada de humedad, aceite ni grasa en las
ranuras de refrigeración.
No limpie el interior ni el exterior con esponjas abrasivas o estropajos de
acero, pues dañarán el acabado.
No sumerja el aparato en agua u otros líquidos.
1.5. Precauciones generales
• Por favor siga las instrucciones del manual de instrucciones, que
ayuda en la instalación y operación adecuada de este producto
y en sus características avanzadas. Guarde las instrucciones para
referencia futura.

• Utilice siempre el producto en una supercie plana y resistente al
calor.
• Cuando el aparato está en funcionamiento, la temperatura de las
supercies de contacto pueden ser muy elevadas. Por ello, no toque
estas piezas calientes del aparato.
• Utilice el producto en una zona bien ventilada. Mantenga un espacio
mínimo de entre 10 y 15 cm en todos los lados del producto para
permitir una adecuada circulación de aire.
• No coloque el producto sobre un quemador eléctrico o de gas, ni
cerca de él, ni en el interior o encima de un horno caliente u otra
fuente de calor.
• No deje que el producto roce cortinas, revestimientos de pared, ropa,
paños u otro material inamable durante su uso.
• No toque las supercies calientes del producto. No mueva el
producto mientras esté enchufado. Deje que el producto se enfríe
bien antes de manipularlo.

• Este producto está pensado para su uso en interiores, no industrial, ni
comercial, solo para su uso doméstico y solamente como sandwichera
y grill saludable. No utilice este aparato en exteriores ni con ninguna
otra nalidad.
• No deje el cable de alimentación colgando donde pueda tropezarse o
tirar de él (como en el borde de una mesa o encimera).
• Para evitar una sobrecarga del circuito mientras utiliza este producto,
no ponga en funcionamiento otro producto de alta potencia en el
mismo circuito eléctrico.
• Este producto se suministra con un cable de alimentación corto. No
se recomienda utilizar un cable alargador con este producto pero, si
debe utilizar uno:
- La clasicación eléctrica indicada en el cable debe ser como
mínimo igual a la del producto.
- Coloque el cable alargador de forma que no cuelgue donde
pueda tropezarse o tirar de él accidentalmente.
- No utilice este producto para cocinar o descongelar comida
congelada. Todos los alimentos deben estar completamente
descongelados antes de cocinarlos con este producto.
- Durante los primeros usos de este producto, puede generar algo
de humo, pero es algo normal y desaparecerá a medida que se
use.

2. UTILIZACIÓN Y FUNCIONAMIENTO
2.1. Descripción del producto

2.2. Instrucciones de funcionamiento
1. Antes de usar este producto por primera vez, límpielo siguiendo las
indicaciones del apartado «Cuidado y mantenimiento».
2. Presione el extremo del pestillo de bloqueo para llevarlo lo más cerca
del asa posible para desbloquear el producto.
3. Abra la unidad empujando el asa hacia arriba.
4. Cierre las placas y encienda la unidad enchufándola a una toma de
corriente estándar. Compruebe que la luz indicadora de encendido es
naranja.
ATENCIÓN: las placas de cocción y supercies de metal de la unidad
se volverán muy calientes durante su funcionamiento. Para evitar
los riesgos de quemaduras, utilice guantes o manoplas resistentes al
calor y solamente toque la parte negra del asa.
5. Cuando la unidad se haya precalentado durante aproximadamente
cinco minutos, la luz indicadora de listo para usarse se volverá verde,
indicando que ya puede utilizar el producto.

6. Utilice el asa para levantar la placa superior. Coloque los alimentos
en la placa inferior utilizando utensilios de madera o de plástico
resistentes al calor.
PRECAUCIÓN: no utilice utensilios de metal en este producto, ya que
rayarán y dañarán el recubrimiento antiadherente de las placas.
7. Utilice el asa para bajar la placa superior y situarla sobre los alimentos.
NOTAS:
• El tiempo de cocción de cada alimento dependerá del tipo y el
grosor.
• Los alimentos deben cocinarse bien antes de consumirse.
8. Cuando los alimentos se hayan cocinado de la forma deseada,
levante el asa para abrir las placas y retire la comida con ayuda de los
utensilios. Si necesita cocinar más comida, cierre las placas para que
conserven el calor.
9. Repita los pasos de 7 a 9 hasta que termine de cocinar, volviendo a
aplicar aceite de cocina en caso necesario.
10. Apague el producto desenchufando el cable de alimentación de la
toma de corriente.
11. Cuando la unidad se haya enfriado completamente, límpiela y
séquela.
12. Bloquee la unidad en su posición cerrada alejando al máximo el
extremo del pestillo de bloqueo del asa.
