Before First Use
1. Remove all packing materials and literature.
2. Wash the cooking surface by wiping with a sponge
or cloth dampened with hot water. Rinse and dry
thoroughly.
NOTE: Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring
pads. Do not immerse the French Toast Maker in
water.
How to Operate
CAUTION: Unit gets very hot, use pot holder when
touching hot unit.
1. Place the unit on a flat, level surface. Plug the
power cord into a wall outlet. Both the Red and
Green indicator lights will turn on.
2. Allow the unit to preheat for about 3 minutes
before cooking. The Green ready light will turn off
when the correct temperature is reached.
3. The unit is now ready to start baking. You can
brush with a cooking oil or place butter for flavor
on the cooking plates.
4. For French Toast, place your mixture in a shallow
flat pan/dish. Dip your sliced bread (about 1 inch
thick) in the mixture so both sides of the bread are
covered. Place each slice over 3 sticks. Repeat with
another piece of bread and place next to the first.
The two pieces should be side by side.
5. Close the lid and lock the handle clip. Cook
approximately 3 minutes or until brown on both sides.
Note, the green “ready” light will turn on and off as
the to keep the correct cooking temperature.
Check for doneness by lifting the handle.
Note: Cooking times will vary. The unit gets very hot
and cooks fast.
6. When done, unplug, then carefully remove the food
from the unit with a plastic utensil. The bread will
have indentations that will help you cut into sticks.
IMPORTANT
n Steam may escape from around the edges, use
potholders when opening and closing.
n Do not leave the unit plugged in when empty.
n Do not keep opening the cover.
n Do not use knives, metal or other sharp object on
the the nonstick cooking plates.

How to Clean
1. Unplug the French Toast Maker power cord from the
wall outlet.
2. Allow the appliance to cool completely.
3. Wash the cooking surface with warm soapy water
using a sponge or soft cloth. Do not use abrasive
cleaners or scouring pads. Do not immerse the unit in
water.
4. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
HINTS AND TIPS
n The French Toast Maker has a non-stick surface for
even baking and easy clean–up. A small amount of oil
can be added to the unit for additional flavor, if
desired. Cooking spray is not recommended as it
may harm the not-stick surface.
n Slightly stale bread or somewhat dry bread works
best.
n For your next French Toast, substitute Heavy cream or
half and half for the milk and see what a difference it
makes.
n If you like a crunchy French toast, use a little flour in
your egg/milk mixture.
n There’s really no rule for the amount of eggs and milk
to use. The heavier the mixture is with eggs the more
dense the french toast will be. If you prefer a lighter
french toast, add a bit more milk.
