IBM MX1004-SPARE-M is a spare unit for the IBM Proventia MX1004 Multi-Function Security Appliance.
You can use the IBM MX1004-SPARE-M as a cold spare for a high availability deployment. In the event of a failure of the primary appliance, the spare appliance can be quickly and easily brought online to maintain business continuity.
The IBM MX1004-SPARE-M comes with the same features and functionality as the primary appliance, including:
- Stateful firewall inspection
- Intrusion prevention
- Virtual private networking (VPN)
- Content filtering
- Anti-spam and anti-virus protection
In addition, the IBM MX1004-SPARE-M can be managed centrally with the IBM Security Management System, which provides a single pane of glass for managing all of your IBM security devices.
