Assembly instructions
The running boards are mounted to two mounting points on the
chainstay. The following instructions guide you through assembling
the running boards safely to your bicycle.
Removing the rear wheel may not be necessary for
assembling the running boards but could make the
installation easier.
Once the running boards are installed, the rear wheel nuts
need to be tightened with the Globe offset wrench supplied
with this accessory. Keep the offset wrench for future use.
Flip the bike over (optional)
Flipping the bicycle over onto the handlebar and saddle may make
assembly of the running boards easier.
CAUTION: Due to the weight of the Globe bicycle, this
process may be easier with the help of another person.
CAUTION: Make sure the HMI display is loosened and
rotated on the handlebar to avoid damaging the screen
when the bicycle is flipped upside down.

The accessory support is found in the small parts box that comes
with the bicycle and is used when mounting the running boards
to the bicycle. It must be loosely assembled to the frame before
installation. If it is already installed, it must be loosened before
installation.
CAUTION: Make sure the bicycle is powered off on the HMI
display.
zPlace the bicycle on the kickstand for support.
zSlide the M10 x 137 mm bolts (A) with washers (B) through the
rear bar (C) from the flat edge side.
zSlide the rear bar spacers over the bolts locating the cutout on
the rear bar.
zSlide the accessory support assembly through the holes on the
rear of the frame.
zThread two nuts (F) with washers (E) onto the bolt.
zUsing the 8 mm short end hex key, lightly tighten (clockwise) the
two bolts. Use the 17 mm socket on the Globe offset wrench to
stop the nuts from rotating.
Do not tighten the accessory support bolts until the running
boards are securely installed.
It is recommended to deflate the rear tire before beginning
the running board assembly.

zInsert an M10 x 65 mm bolt with washer into the front (A) and
rear (B) chainstay mounting holes from inside of the frame.
The front mounting bolt can be difficult to insert because of
the fender location. When installing the bolt, flex the fender
outward to help the bolt head clear the fender.
Inserting the front bolt may be easier with the rear wheel
removed and/or removing the fender mounting bolt with a
4 mm hex key.
zLoosely thread the front and rear bolts into the corresponding
running board mounts. Ensure the indicator pin (C) at the rear of
the running board is inserted in the accessory support.
zGently rocking the running board up and down while you tighten
makes this step easier.
zUsing the 8 mm short end hex key, tighten (clockwise) the
mounting bolts until the tool leaves a clear imprint in the palm of
your hand (20 Nm / 177 in-lbf).
zRepeat the steps with the opposite running board.
Torque the accessory support Assembly Guide
Globe Running Boards
zOnce both the running boards are installed and all four
mounting bolts are fully torqued, tighten the accessory support
bolts. Using the 8 mm short end hex key, tighten (clockwise) the
two bolts until the tool leaves a clear imprint in the palm of your
hand (40 Nm / 354 in-lbf). TIP: Use the 17 mm socket on the offset
wrench to stop the nuts from rotating.
zIf you loosened the rear fender mount, use a 4 mm hex bit and
torque wrench to torque the bolt to 4 Nm / 35.5 in-lbf.
zIf removed, re-install the rear wheel and re-inflate the tire
following the instructions in your Globe User Manual.
Heel clearance
CAUTION: Running boards may reduce heal clearance,
specifically when walking alongside the bike or pushing
the bike off while seated on the bicycle.

Safety information
WARNING! The Globe running boards are intended for use
on Globe Haul LT bicycles only.
WARNING! Before your first ride and regularly thereafter,
ensure the running boards are secured to the bicycle.
WARNING: The area where you ride may require specific
safety devices. It is your responsibility to familiarize
yourself with the laws of the area where you ride and
to comply with all applicable laws, including properly
equipping yourself, your passengers, and your bicycle as
the law requires.
WARNING: You and your passenger must always wear
a cycling helmet that meets the latest certification
standards and is appropriate for the type of riding you
do. Most serious bicycle injuries involve head injuries
that might have been avoided if the rider had worn an
appropriate helmet.
WARNING! Riding with passenger on your bicycle affects
the handling by altering the center of gravity, weight, and
balance. It may also negatively impact your cornering
ability, increase your necessary stopping distance, and
reduce your ability to slow down and maneuver, especially
at higher speeds or down a steep grade. All of this can
result in a loss of control, potentially causing serious
injury and/or death. You should also become familiar with
and practice riding with the passenger in a controlled
environment away from traffic.
WARNING! Never exceed the maximum allowed cargo
weight for your bicycle/fork or the rack’s maximum
allowed cargo weight limit. However, the weight limit of
the accessory may be lower. Always adhere to the lower
of the weight limits of either the rack or the accessory. See
the table for the Globe bicycle racks and fork weight limit
guidelines.
