Read all the instructions and retain them.•
Do not expose the camera to extreme temperatures, humid-•
ity, dust or water.
Do not aim the camera at the sun or strong light as the lens •
may be damaged.
Protect the camera lens and avoid scratching it.•
Use only the supplied accessories. Use of any other accesso-•
ries could damage the appliance and will void the warranty.
Clean the camera with a cloth designed to clean spectacles •
or camera lenses.
WARNING: This appliance uses a Lithium Ion Battery. Do not
expose the battery. There is a risk of leakage, explosion, re or
burns if the camera is opened, or immersed in water or if the
battery terminals are short-circuited with a metal object.
LEAKAGE: If the battery is punctured or mishandled the battery
contents may leak. If battery contents come into contact with
skin or eyes, rinse the aected area continuously for 15 minutes
in clean cold water and seek medical help immediately.

Disposal: Waste electrical products should not be dis-
posed of with household waste. TIn the EU this means
that the camera can only be disposed of at a site with
special facilities for receiving used batteries. For your
nearest facilities visit your local authority website.

Preliminaries
INTRODUCTION
This tiny but powerful camera is only thumb-sized but capable of
recording great video. The included accessory pack gives you lots of
mounting options for a variety of situations. Its size and light weight
make it perfect for carrying everywhere - just in case.
The camera may be used stand-alone or as a webcam when con-
nected to a suitable PC

When not in use the camera and the accessories should always be •
left in the box for safe storage.
UNPACKING
Remove the camera carefully from packing. The camera is in a •
protective see-through plastic wrap. We suggest you do not at-
tempt to remove the wrap as all camera features are accessible
with the case on. Unwrap and uncoil the USB cable.
CONNECTING THE MICRO SD CARD
You will need to purchase a micro SD card. The camera will not operate
without the card installed. The camera supports cards up to 32 GB.
Insert the micro SD card into the SD card
slot as shown. Press it gently home us-
ing your thumb nail on the outer edge.
To remove the card place your thumb
nail on the edge and push inwards gen-
tly. The card will now release and can be
easily removed.
If you operate the camera without an SD
card it will power o after 30 seconds.
CHARGING THE CAMERA BATTERY
Fully charge the built-in battery before using the camera
Connect the camera to a USB port on your PC using the USB cable
provided. You may also use a Mains- USB adaptor.
While charging, a solid red light will glow and a blue light will ash.
Once fully charged, both lights will remain lit indicating the camera
is ready for use.
Note: when the battery power is low, the camera will enter protec-
tion mode and will not turn on until recharged.

Recording a Video
STANDARD RECORDING
Ensure the Micro SD card has been inserted; if it is missing, the
camera will power o automatically after 30 seconds.
To switch the camera on:• Press the POWER button.
The blue indicator light will glow to indicate startup mode.
To start recording:• Press the Record button.
A solid blue light will illuminate and a red light will ash slowly to indi-
cate recording is in progress,
During recording: • For best results, ensure the main object of
focus remains 50cm from the camera in sucient lighting
To stop recording:• Press the record button again.
The le will be automatically saved. The red light will ash quickly to
indicate ‘le saved’ and then will turn o.
To make further recordings• : Repeat the procedure.
Note: It takes a few moments to save a le after recording. Allow the
procedure to nish before starting a new recording, Pressing the record
button repeatedly may disrupt this procedure.
SOUND ACTIVATED RECORDING
Press the POWER button to turn the DV camera on. •
The blue indicator light will glow to indicate startup mode.
Press the MODE button to change to sound activated mode.•
The blue light will remain on and the red light will ash rapidly to indi-
cate sound acitvated standby mode.
When a sound greater than 60 decibels (60dB) is picked up by the cam-
era, it will begin to record automatically. While lming, the blue light
remains on and the purple light ashes slowly.
When the camera enters sound activated mode it will run for a mini-
mum of 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, if there is no sound, the DV Camera
will save the le automatically and revert to standby mode. If the sound
continues after 2 minutes, the camera will continue to lm.
Any sound louder than 60dB will activate the camersa and another re-
cording cycle will commence.
When recording ensure the microphone is not obscured.
MANUAL AND AUTO POWER OFF
To manually turn the power o: • hold the power button for 3
seconds and then release.
The indicator lights will illuminate then turn o.
Auto-power o function•
When battery power runs low while lming, the le will be 1.
saved automatically before the camera turns o.
When there is not enough space left on the Micro SD while lm-2.
ing, the le will be saved automatically before the camera pow-
ers o.
In standby mode, if no actions are made for 45 seconds, the 3.
camera will auto-power o.
Playing a Video Recording
Connect the camera to the computer.•
The camera can be connected to a computer while in o mode, standby
mode or video mode.
After USB connection, a Removable disk icon representing the •
Mini DV Camera will appear in the Autoplay menu.
If the DV camera cannot be identied lease re-connect it.
Click Open Folder” to open the folder•

tains the recorded vid-
eos. Click to open the
folder and display your
recordings.
Click a recording to play the le
via your default media player.
Note: It is better to copy or
cut the video le onto your PC
hard drive before playing it.
Large video les may not play
without interruption directly from the Micro SD.
Set the time stamp
After recording your rst video, insert the Micro SD into your PC •
or attach the mini DV player to the computer.
Open the TAG,TXT le. Change the time shown to the correct •
time and date in the format YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS and save
the le.
The next video you take will display the new time and date in •
the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Note: the tag le will continue to show the original time and •
date but the videos will show the updated information. If you
need to change the time or date again, repeat the above pro-
cess.

USING THE MINI DV AS A WEBCAM
Connect the unit to the PC
The device is plug and play so you need no driver software for Win-
dows XP and above. The PC will detect and install the software.
Follow the prompts and allow the software to install.
Windows 7 and above: you need to be registered as the adminis-
trator to install the software. When the software has installed you
may see this security message:
Click “Install” and after installation re-boot the PC..
Whenever the camera is connected to the PC the SD drive con-1.
tents will deploy. For use as a webcam, simply close the win-
dow.
Sometimes the camera may not be detected. If this occurs re-2.
move and re-insert the USB cable. If this does not work, remove
the USB cable and re-boot the PC. The drive should then be de-
tected.
You will need to install a suitable video capture program from the
web. There are several free programs that provide excellent results.
One such program is MyCam. This is a free download from CNET:

Download the le and unzip the le to a folder. The program is de-
ployed from the folder by clicking on “MyCam.exe
Connect the DV cam to the PC. The removable disk will appear 1.
under your removable storage drive.
Press the power button on the DV camera once and the icon 2.
will disappear. A USB icon may appear or it may not depending
on your operating system.
Deploy the program and wait a few seconds for the program to 3.
recognise the camera.
Use the software to record videos and still images4.
The next page will give you a brief summary of the MyCam software.

About MyCam
Still Image Capture: 1. Captures a still image. YThe im-
age capture is displayed on the bar at the bottom of the
screen (See A below).
Record/Stop: 2. Press to start and stop recording. When a
recording is stopped the recording is saved and the cap-
ture appears at the bottom of the screen (See B below) .
The screen reverts to display the live video stream.
Device:3. Allows you to select he DV cam (general-UVC) or
other imaging device.
Options: 4. Allows you to specify a default folder (which
can be dierent for images and videos) and various qual-
ity parameters.
To display an image or play a stored video:
Navigate to the folder and click the image/video • or
If the image/video icon appears in the bottom bar, simply •
click on the icon. The image/video location is displayed
and the le will play with your default programme.
Note: When you record a video the on screen image may
move very slowly and the image appear jerky. The recording
will be perfectly OK however!
After a short period when the camera has been fully recogn-
ised by the software this jerky motion will cease.

Using the Accessories

IMPORTANT NOTES
Reset
If the DV camera is functioning irregularly, the factory settings
may need to be reset. To do this, use a pin–shaped object to
press the ‘reset’ button on the cameras side.
Storage
Store the unit in a safe place at room temperature, away from
sources of heat or damp and out of reach of children.
Software upgrades
The manufacturer will occasionally upgrade this product’s
software. Please contact your local retailer for the latest soft-
ware information.
Conditions of Use
Please adhere to local laws when using this camera. Publish-
ing recordings obtained surreptitiously and without the sub-
jects consent could constitute an oence.
