INSTALLATION
TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL ELECTRIC SHOCK, BE SURE CONTROL CABLE IS DISCONNECTED
FROM POWER SOURCE OR INTERFACE BOX BEFORE WORKING INSIDE THE WIRE FEEDER.
1. Make sure control cable is removed from the Power Source or Interface Box.
2. Remove the blank panel from the rear of wire feeder (see Figure 1).
3. Remove the base tray from the bottom of wire feeder and install the current detector supplied with the option
module. The current detector is required for operation of the spot time and trigger lock functions. The current
detector consists of a "U" shaped steel clip and a reed switch assembly. To install the current detector remove
one nut from the reed switch assembly and adjust the other nut to the end of the threads toward the leads. Slip
the leads thru the rear panel and slip the "U" shaped clip over the left or right welding cable depending on which
side you want the module to operate on. (see Figure 2).Then slide the reed switch through the holes in the "U"
shaped clip with the leads facing away from you and install the other nut. Do not overtighten. Reinstall the base
tray to bottom of feeder.
4. Locate and remove the jumper plug from the P3 or P4 connector on the relay board (PCB2) depending on which
side the module is to operate on. Connect to P3 for right side or P4 for left side (see Figure 3). DO NOT DISCARD
the jumper cable. If for any reason the option module is removed, the jumper must be reinstalled for proper
operation. Connect the cable supplied with the option module between the P1 connector of the module board
and the P3 connector of the relay board (PCB2).
5. Install the option module in the place of blank panel using the same screws removed in step 2.
6. Reconnect the control cable removed in step 1.
SETUP
1. Set the PRE-FLOW, POST-FLOW, and BURNBACK controls for the desired times (clockwise increases time).
2. If spot welding is desired, place the CONTINUOUS/SPOT/TRIGGER LATCH switch in the SPOT position and
set the potentiometer to the desired time. Timing will not begin until welding current is detected.
3. If TRIGGER LATCH is desired, place the CONTINUOUS/SPOT/TRIGGER LATCH switch in the TRIGGER
LATCH position.
NOTE
The trigger will not latch unless current is detected prior to release of the trigger.
If the arc is broken while the trigger is latched, the trigger will unlatch approxi-
mately three seconds after loss of current detect.
SPOT and TRIGGER LATCH cannot be used simultaneously.
