Safety information

Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the

supplied instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible if an

incorrect installation and use causes injuries and damages. Always

keep the instructions with the appliance for future reference.

General Safety

• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar

applications such as:

– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other

working environments;

– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and other residential

type environments.

• Do not change the specification of this appliance.

• The operating water pressure (minimum and maximum) must be

between 0.5 (0.05) / 8 (0.8) bar (Mpa)

• Obey the maximum number of 9 place settings.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the

manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or similarly qualified

persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put knives and cutlery with sharp points in the cutlery basket with

the points down or in a horizontal position.

• Do not keep the appliance door open without supervision to

prevent to fall on it.

• Before maintenance, deactivate the appliance and disconnect the

mains plug from the mains socket.

• Do not use water spray and steam to clean the appliance.

• The ventilation openings in the base (if applicable) must not be

obstructed by a carpet.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mains using the new

supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets must not be reused.

Children and vulnerable people safety

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above

and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities

or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given

supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe

way and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.

• Keep all detergents away from children.

• Keep children and pets away from the appliance door when it is

open.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children

without supervision.

Safety instructions

Installation

• Remove all the packaging.

• Do not install or use a damaged appliance.

• Do not install or use the appliance where the

temperature is less than 0 °C.

• Obey the installation instruction supplied with

the appliance.

Electrical connection

Warning! Risk of fire and

electrical shock.

• The appliance must be earthed.

• Make sure that the electrical information on the

rating plate agrees with the power supply. If

not, contact an electrician.

• Always use a correctly installed shockproof

socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters and extension

cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage to the mains

plug and to the mains cable. Should the mains

cable need to be replaced, this must be carried

out by our Authorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mains socket

only at the end of the installation. Make sure

that there is access to the mains plug after the

installation.

• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnect the

appliance. Always pull the mains plug.

• This appliance complies with the E.E.C.

Directives.

• Only for UK and Ireland. The appliance has a 13

amp mains plug. If it is necessary to change the

fuse in the mains plug, use fuse: 13 amp ASTA

(BS 1362).

Water connection

• Make sure not to cause damage to the water

hoses.

• Before you connect the appliance to new pipes

or pipes not used for a long time, let the water

flow until it is clean.

• The first time you use the appliance, make sure

that there is no leakage.

• If the water inlet hose is damaged, immediately

disconnect the mains plug from the mains

socket. Contact the Authorised Service Centre

to replace the water inlet hose.

Use

• Do not sit or stand on the open door.

• Dishwasher detergents are dangerous. Obey

the safety instructions on the detergent

packaging.

• Do not drink and play with the water in the

appliance.

• Do not remove the dishes from the appliance

until the programme is completed. There can

be detergent on the dishes.

• The appliance can release hot steam if you open

the door while a programme operates.

• Do not put flammable products or items that

are wet with flammable products in, near or on

the appliance.

Service

• Contact the Authorised Service Centre to

repair the appliance. We recommend only the

use of original spare parts.

• When you contact the Authorised Service

Centre, ensure that you have the following

information that is available on the rating plate.

Indicator Description

Wash Washing phase. It comes on when the washing phase operates.

Dry Drying phase. It comes on when the drying phase operates.

End of cycle End indicator.

Salt Salt indicator. It is always off while the programme operates.

Rinse aid Rinse aid indicator. It is always off while the programme operates.

Programme selection mode

and user mode

When the appliance is in programme selection

mode it is possible to set a programme and to

enter the user mode.

In user mode, the following settings can

be changed:

• The level of the water softener according to the

water hardness.

These settings will be saved until you

change them again.

How to set the programme selection

mode

The appliance is in programme selection mode

when the on/off indicator comes on and start

indicator starts to flash.

When you activate the appliance, usually it is in

programme selection mode. However, if this

does not happen, you can set the programme

selection mode in the following way:

Press and hold simultaneously Start and Delay

until the appliance is in programme selection mode.

1) The pressure and the temperature of the water, the variations of the mains supply, the options and the quantity of dishes can

change the values.

2) With this programme you have the most efficient use of water and energy consumption for crockery and cutlery with normal

soil. (This is the standard programme for test institutes).

3) With this programme you can wash a load with fresh soil. It gives good washing results in a short time.

4) Use this programme to quickly rinse the dishes. this prevents the remaining food to bond on the dishes and bad odours to

come out from the appliance. Do not use detergent with this programme.

When the appliance is first

installed

Before using the appliance for the first time

1. Ensure that the electrical and water

connections comply with the installation

instructions.

2. Remove all packaging from inside the

appliance.

3. Check if the factory set of the water softener

complies with the water hardness in your area.

If not, adjust the level of the water softener.

4. Pour 1 litre of water into the salt container and

then fill with dishwasher salt.

5. Fill the rinse aid dispenser.

6. Open the water tap.

7. Processing residues can remain in the

appliance. To remove these residues, start a

washing programme without loading the

baskets and without using detergent.

Filling with salt

Caution! Only use salt

specifically designed for

dishwasher use. All other

types of salt, especially table

salt, will damage the water

softener. Only fill with salt

just before starting one of the

complete washing

programmes. This will

prevent any grains of salt or

salty water, which may have

been spilt, to remain on the

bottom of the appliance for

any period of time and cause

corrosion.

1. Open the appliance door and remove the

lower basket.

2. Unscrew the cap of the salt container by

turning it anticlockwise.

3. Pour 1 litre of water into the container (this is

necessary only before filling with salt for the

first time).

4. Screw on the cap of the salt container by

turning it clockwise until it stops with a click.

Make sure that there is no trace of salt on the

screw thread or on the gasket.

5. Turn the cap of the salt container clockwise to

close the salt container.

Do not worry if water overflows

from the unit when filling with salt,

this is quite normal.

The water softener

The water softener removes minerals from the

water supply, which would have a detrimental

effect on the washing results and on the

appliance.

The higher the content of these minerals, the

harder your water is. Water hardness is

measured in equivalent scales.

The water softener should be adjusted

according to the hardness of the water in your

area. Your local water authority can advise you

on the hardness of the water in your area. It is

important to set the right level of the water

softener to assure good washing results.

How to set the water softener level

The appliance must be in programme selection

mode.

1. Make sure that the programme marker on the

knob is aligned with the indicator on/off .

2. To enter the user mode, press and hold

Delay. At the same time turn the knob

counterclockwise until the programme marker

is aligned with the first programme. Release

Delay when the indicators Start and on/off

start to flash.

3. Press Delay.

• The indicator End of cycle starts to flash.

• The indicators Start and on/off continues

to flash.

• The intermittent flashing of End of cycle

refers to the current set level, e.g. 5 flashes

+ pause + 5 flashes = level 5.

4. Press Delay again and again to change the

setting. Each time you press Delay the level

number increases. After level 10 you will start

again from level 1.

5. Turn knob to on/off position to confirm the

setting.

Filling with rinse aid

Caution! Only use branded

rinse aid for dishwashers.

Never fill the rinse aid

dispenser with any other

substances (e.g. dishwasher

cleaning agent, liquid

detergent). This would

damage the appliance.

Rinse aid ensures thorough rinsing,

and spot and streak free drying.

Rinse aid is automatically added

during the last rinse.

1. Press the release button (D) to open the lid

2. Fill the rinse aid dispenser (A) with rinse aid.

The maximum level for filling is indicated by

'max'.

3. Clean up any rinse aid spilt during filling with an

absorbent cloth to avoid excess foaming during

the next washing programme.

4. Close the rinse aid dispenser. Press the lid until

it locks into position.

Adjusting the rinse aid dosage

The factory set in position 3. You can set the

rinse aid dosage between position 1 (lowest

dosage) and position 4 (highest dosage). Turn

the rinse aid selector (B) to increase or reduce

the dosage.

Daily use

1. Check if it's necessary to refill with dishwasher

salt or rinse aid.

2. Open the door, slide out the baskets and load

cutlery and dishes.

3. Fill the detergent dispenser with detergent.

4. Select a washing programme suitable for the

degree of soil and the type of load.

5. Start the washing programme.

Loading cutlery and dishes

Sponges, household cloths and any object that

can absorb water must not be washed in the

appliance.

• Remove all left over food and debris from

dishes.

• Soften remnants of burnt food in pans.

• Dishes and cutlery must not impede the

rotation of the spray arms.

• Load hollow items with the opening

downwards so that water cannot collect in the

container or a deep base.

• Dishes and items of cutlery must not lie inside

one another or cover each other.

• To avoid damage to glasses, they must not

touch.

• Lay small objects in the cutlery basket.

• Plastic items and pans with non stick coatings

have a tendency to retain water drops. These

items will not dry as well as porcelain and steel

items.

• Light items (e.g. plastic bowls) must be loaded

in the upper basket and arranged so they do

not move.

For washing in the dishwasher the following cutlery and dishes

are not suitable: are of limited suitability:

• Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother-of-

pearls handles.

• Plastic items that are not heat resistant.

• Older cutlery with glued parts that are not temper-

ature resistant.

• Bonded cutlery items or dishes.

• Pewter or copper items.

• Lead crystal glass.

• Steel items prone to rusting.

• Wooden platters.

• Items made from synthetic fibres.

• Only wash stoneware if it is specially marked as be-

ing dishwasher-safe by the manufacturer.

• Glazed patterns may fade if machine washed fre-

quently.

• Silver and aluminium parts have a tendency to dis-

colour during washing: Residue, e.g. egg white, egg

yolk and mustard often cause discolouring and

staining on silver. Therefore always clean leftovers

from silver immediately, if it is not to be washed

straight after use.

The lower basket

The lower basket is designed to take pots, pans,

lids, dishes, salad bowls and cutlery. Serving

dishes and large lids should be arranged around

the edge of the basket, ensuring that the spray

arms can turn freely.

The two rows of prongs in the lower basket can

lie flat to allow you to load pots, pans and

bowls.

The cutlery basket

Warning! Knives with long

blades, stored in an upright

position, are a potential

hazard. Long and/or sharp

items of cutlery such as

carving knives must be

positioned horizontally in the

upper basket. Take care when

loading or unloading sharp

items such as knives. Forks

and spoons should be placed

in the removable cutlery

basket with the handles facing

downwards and the knives

with their handles facing

upwards

Mix spoons with other cutlery to prevent them

from sticking together. For best results we

recommend you use the cutlery grid. If the size

and dimensions of the cutlery do not allow the

use of the grid, this can be easily removed.

The upper basket

Arrange items on and underneath the cup racks

so that water can reach all surfaces. Avoid to

put plates in the first three sectors in the front

part of the basket. Make sure the plates tilt

forwards.

Glasses with long stems can be placed upside

down in the cup racks. For taller items, the cup

racks can be folded upwards.

Moving the upper basket to the higher

position

1. Move the front runner stops (A) of the upper

basket outwards and slide the basket out.

2. Refit the basket in the higher position and

replace the stops (A) in their original position.

Moving back the upper basket to the

lower position

1. Move the front runner stops (A) of the upper

basket outwards and slide the basket out.

2. Refit the basket in the lower position and

replace the stops (A) in their original position.

Caution! Never lift or lower

the basket on one side only.

When the basket is in the

higher position do not put

cups on the cup racks.

Warning! Always close the

appliance door after loading

the baskets. An open door can

be a hazard.

Use of detergent

Caution! Only use detergents

specifically designed for use in

dishwashers. Please observe

the dosing and storage

recommendations as stated

on the detergent packaging.

Using no more than the correct

amount of detergent contributes to

reducing pollution.

Fill with detergent

1. Press the release button (B) to open the lid

2. Put the detergent in compartment (A).

3. If the programme has a prewash phase, put a

small quantity of detergent in on the inner part

of the appliance door.

4. If you use detergent tablets, put the tablet in

compartment (A).

5. Close the lid. Make sure that it locks into

position.

Caution! Detergent tablets

from different manufacturers

dissolve at different rates. For

this reason, some detergent

tablets do not attain their full

cleaning power during short

washing programmes.

Therefore, please use long

washing programmes when

using detergent tablets, to

ensure the complete removal

of detergent residual.

Using the multi-tablets

When you use tablets, that contain salt and rinse

aid, do not fill the salt container and the rinse aid

dispenser.

1. Adjust the water softener to the lowest level.

2. Set the rinse aid dispenser to the lowest

position.

What to do if you want to stop using

multi-tablets

Before you start to use separately detergent,

salt and rinse aid do the following procedure.

1. Set the highest level of the water softener.

2. Make sure that the salt and rinse aid containers

are full.

3. Start the shortest programme with a rinsing

phase. Do not add detergent and do not load

the baskets.

4. When the programme is completed, adjust the

water softener according to the water

hardness in your area.

5. Adjust the released quantity of rinse aid.

1. Close the appliance door

2. Turn the knob until the programme marker is

Starting the washing

programme with delay start

You can set the washing

programme with the appliance

door open or closed.

1. Close the appliance door

aligned with the programme you want to set.

Refer to 'Washing programmes'.

• On/off indicator comes on.

• Start indicator starts to flash.

3. Press delay start button to delay the start of

the programme of 3 hours.

• The programme starts and the indicator of

the washing phase is on.

• On/off indicator and start indicator are on.

4. Press Start. Start indicator comes on. When

the countdown is completed, the programme

starts.

Cancelling a delay start in

progress

1. Press and hold start button and delay start

button until the start indicator starts to flash.

2. Press start button to start a washing

programme.

When you cancel a delay start, the

appliance goes back to programme

selection mode.

Warning! Interrupt or cancel

a washing programme in

progress only if it’s absolutely

necessary. Hot steam may

escape when the appliance

door is opened. Open the

door carefully.

Interrupting a washing

programme in progress

1. Open the appliance door. The washing

programme stops.

2. Close the appliance door. The programme

continues from the point at which it was

interrupted.

Cancelling a washing

programme in progress

1. Press and hold start button and delay start

button until the start indicator starts to flash

2. Press and hold start button until the start

indicator starts to flash.

Make sure that there is detergent in

the detergent dispenser before you

start a new programme.
