Connecting to a PC
To connect by USB communication
Use the USB cable and the USB spacer to connect this product to a PC.
CAUTION
• Insert the USB spacer securely to the depth of the USB cable connector.
• ItisnecessarytoinstallthesoftwareonaPCbeforeconnectingtheUSBcabletoaPC.
1. Connect the PC side connector of the USB cable to the USB port of the PC.
2. Attach the USB spacer to the DST-i side connector of the USB cable.
3. ConnecttheDST-isideconnector(withtheUSBspacerattached)tothisproduct.

To connect by wireless LAN communication
Theseguidelinesexplainhowtoexecute necessarysettingsonaPCscreentousetheDST-iwirelessly,registerthe
DST-isettings,andconnecttowirelessLANcommunicationforNorthAmericanmodelsonly.PleaseconsultwithyourIT
professionalforsetupandpropernetworksetting.
Thefollowingtwotypesofcommunicationmodesaresupported.However,itisrecommendedtosetupcommunications
throughinfrastructuremode.
• Infrastructuremode-AllowscommunicationbetweenaPCandtheDST-iviaanaccesspoint(i.e.router).
• Adhocmode-AllowsdirectcommunicationbetweenaPCandtheDST-i(peer-to-peer).
NOTE
• AdhocModeforWindows8.1operatingsystemisnotastandardselection.ForWindows8.1users,pleaseconnect
usinginfrastructuremodeorthroughtheUSBconnection.
YourPCmustbeequippedwithwirelessLANcapability(adapter)andforinfrastructuremodeanappropriateaccess
point(wirelessLANrouter)isnecessarytoproperlyconnectthePCtotheVCI;pleaserefertoPCand/orrouteroperation
manual for proper setup.
OncenetworkconnectionisestablishedthroughWiFiorUSB,utilizethe“DST-iConnectionManager”onthePCto
establish DST-i communication.
TheavailableDST-iunitswillappearonthePC:
FromtheavailableDST-i,selecttheappropriateserialnumber(S/NonthelabeladheredtothebackoftheDST-i)and
“SetDefault”toallowautomaticconnectionforfutureinterface.
Oncecommunicationisestablished,execute the HDS application. Please refer to the DST-i Wireless LAN Connection
Set-upInstructionsforfurtherdetailsonwirelessPCsettings.
NOTE
• Connection by wireless LAN communication is only possible on a model with wireless LAN.
• WhenwirelessLANcommunicationwiththePCisestablished,thePCcommunication(wirelessLAN)indicatoron
thisproductashesblue.
• WhenconnectingviabothLANcommunicationandUSBcommunication,theUSBconnectiontakespriority.

When connecting both the datalink cable and the USB cable at the same time
Use the USB cable and the USB spacer to connect this product to a PC.
1. Loosen the screw on left side of the datalink cable.
2. Attach the USB cable lock to the USB cable.
3. Connect the DST-i side connector to this product.
4. TightentheUSBcablelockwiththescrewonleftsideofthedatalinkcable.

ThisproductcanuseanSDmemorycardbyinsertingitintotheSDmemorycardslot.
ThevehicledatacanbestoredintheSDmemorycard.
CAUTION
• Use an SD memory card or an SDHC memory card.
• ThisproductdoesnotsupportanSDXCmemorycard.
• UseanSDmemorycardlabeledwiththeSDlogomarkandconformingtotheSDstandard.ThefollowingbrandSD

NOTE
• IfthenotchontheSDmemorycardsidefaceissettothe“Lock”position,datastorageanddeletionaredisabledby
thewriteprotectfunction(writeinhibit).Makesuretounlockthewriteprotectfunctionbeforeuse.

1. TurnthemodeswitchofthisproductOFF.
2. PushtheSDmemorycardlightly.
3. TheSDmemorycardisejectedalittle.Pullitoutgently.
