PRESENTATION
Dear client,
ELSEA s.r.l. would like to thank you for choosing the
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 ZLA40C ZLA40CB the new and
compact wash/dryer, who,s characteristics we are sure will fullfill
your working needs.
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 ZLA40C ZLA40CB has been
designed and built in total line with the directive 459/96, with
premium quality materials and the maximum of reasearch to reduce
the risk of breakdowns.
This manual has been written to minimise the risk of injury to the
operator and also to teach the operator the correct use of the
machine ,its functions and its long life.
Before use, we suggest that the user fully reads the manual, and to
scrupulously keep to the instructions contained there in For safety
reasons do not try any kind of operation not specifically mentioned in

1. DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
The constant research applied to wash/dry machines has enabled ELSEA S.r.l. to realise
WASH/DRYER Mod.Nimbus, a type of wash/dryer, extremely versatile and manageable,
with compact dimensions perfect for your place of work, cleaning your floor surfaces
perfectly, with optimum suction of liquids and simple to use.
The machine has been given an interchangeable brush, level to 360mm assembled on a plate
of completely stainless steel, the machine has also been built on a “chassis body”, that is a
bearing tank that acts as a chassis, to which all the components are fastened ( the wheel axis,
suction motor, and the brush plate).
This solution has allowed us to obtain certainly, a reliable working machine for our time,
with unique characteristics in the market, these characters are its simplicity function and
strength and above all low maintenance, light and practical, with asthetic beauty.
Also, the best design of the dryer (squeegee) and its particular collaboration with the brush
has allowed to obtain the perfect suction, of all detergent liquid onthe floos surface.
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 ZLA40C ZLA40CB has been dsigned and
built in line with electrics ruling EN60335-1.

3. SAFETY INFORMATION
In consideration of the safety rules of the machine directive 459/96, and electric rules En
60335-1 e 60335-2, and of D.Lgs. 81/08 ( safety only text) the machine type
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 ZLA40C ZLA40CB adheres to the minimum
required safety features.
In particular the machine is built with the following technical features to protect the operator
in its use and maintenance.
All moving parts ,mechanical or not,are protected by guards with hexagonal sunken
screws.
The start ( which puts the suction and brush motors in motion) can be exclusively done by
using :I / O of the general ignition, situated on the control panel of the machine ( general
power to all the circuit), and successively pressing the button START to operate the
motors singly ( brush rotation,suction).
On the contrary, it is possible for the operator in an emergency, to stop the machine at
any moment by using the same button I /O.
Whatever operation, brush plate, suction motor, battery chamber, must always be done
with the machine switched OFF.
Labels of danger and caution are placed in certain areas, if these ares are not respected,
you are putting yourself at risk.
3.1. CAUTION
1. ELSEA s.r.l. DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR MACHINE
GUARANTEE in the case of modifications, infringements or contrivance, however
small, and which ever part, the aqquired product is used for any thing it was not built
to do.
The machine has been built to top grade to satisfy the market in quality and
production.
All materials and components used in its making satisfy the safety rules CEE and
ELSEA s.r.l. hold the respective certification.
2. Only use brushes given with the machine, or those specified in the instruction
manual, Using other brushes could compromise the safety of the machine.
3.2. ATTENTION
1. this machine is not adapted to vaccum dangerous dust,debris.
2. Do not use the machine on a tilt more than suggested in the manual.
3. The machine must only be used by trained persons.
4. The machine must be disconnected from its power source ( cable if mains electric, or
its battery during cleaning or maintenance and during exchange of parts.

5. Use adequate protection ( gloves) during contact with liquid detergent and during the
change of brush.
6. All accidental splash of detergent in the eyes must be washed out thoughroughly with
plenty of water and medical help sought.
7. Handle the battery with care, all accidental contact of battery fluid with the eyes or
sensitive parts of the body must be quickly washed out with plenty of running water
and medical help sought, use gloves and goggles.
8. Do not disperse battery fluid into the environment.
4. USE OF THE MACHINE
The floor washing machine, WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 ZLA40C
ZLA40CB HAS BEEN BUILT ONLY AND EXCUSIVELY FOR THE CLEANING OF
FLOORS, USING A MECHANICAL ROTATING BRUSH ACTION,and a chemical action
of water and detergent solution.
Also, during its advance motion, the dirt removed and the detergent solution on the floor
come collected via a suction motor ( dryer or squeegee) which, through tubes, passes the
said liquid into a waste tank.
Every other use is considered inappropriate and consequently dangerous, if the safety rules
are not followed with this machine it could result in damage to the machine and its operator.
Every operation of maintenance, repair, brush change, etc, must be done with the electrics
sectioned.

5. MOVING THE PACKING
The machine is delivered direct from the factory,mounted on a europallet.
The europallet must be moved using a fork lift truck.
CAUTION: Absolutely avoid stopping whilst moving the machine in its packing state.
No part of the machine is designed to take any weight.. therefore, not for any reason must
any raising hooks be placed on the machine. If the machine falls during lifting it could cause
grave damage to peronnel and itself .
6. UNPACKING THE MACHINE
Now the machine has to be unpacked.
Proceed as follows:
1. remove external packing, the machine will be fixed to the pallet base with steel straps.
2. Remove steel straps and fixings.
3. Tilting the pallet back gently, allow the machine to slowly roll off,keeping hold .
4. retain the steel straps and fixing bolts for any future re packing.

7. PREPARING THE MACHINE FOR SERVICE
Before putting the machine into service,follow these pointers:
First thing, check the machine has not been damaged, in particular,all external parts are
intact.
The packing contains all the components (squeegee, brush , instruction manual, spare
parts catalogue, guarantee.)
In the unlikely case of damage, problems or missing parts, do not proceed with assembly,but
call the selling agent or directly to ELSEA.
7.1. Preliminary operations
7.1.1. Dryer (squeegee)
The squeegee is fixed directly behind the brush, in a “hugging” manner .

Insert the suction tube in the opposite pipe, carefully rotating to one side the squeegee in
order to fit correctly.
There is no need to fix the squeegees raising cable, as this always works directly on the
support.

7.1.2. Assembly and charge of battery
The battery chamber is accessible at the back of the machine, and is found directly on the
waste tank, this permits easy maintenance of the battery, and much safer.
To install the battery for the first time, or to change, proceed as follows ( note: every single
detail is explained and shown in photos in the following paragraphs.):
1. remove the rear protection guard, loosening the two fixing screws.
2. Put back the battery in the waste tank
3. make sure the battery has been connected properly, lastly connect the power cable.
4. Close the panel
5. Safely connect the two red connectors ( Anderson plug fitting) to the electric.

7.2. Splash guard
The chamber where the dryer brush rotates is delimited by a rubber band which has the
scope to avoid water splashes but holds detergent on the brush. The rubber band, or
“bumper” is fixed on the brush plate across two steel rings. Dismantling is done by
releasing the rings on the opposite grooves in the brush plate.

7.3. Mounting the brush
The brush is easily mounted raising the brush plate across the opposite third wheel near the
back of the machine, on the side SX of the brush plate, as shown in the pictures.
1. Switch off all motors, shutting down power to all the machine.
2. Using the raising lever on the brush plate, as shown in the Fig, turning until the third
wheel is not resting on the floor and the brush plate is raised off the floor.
3. Position the brush under the brush plate, central to the hub, and with two hands
pushing up with one decisive movement so it fastens and remains parallel to the
brush plate.
4. Make sure the brush is fixed and positioned on the hub. ( the pivots of the central hub
must sit in the seats as shown in fig 14.
5. Lower the brush plate ,again using the lever, in the opposite direction.
Switch power back on, and switch on brush rotation. Fig 8

Filling the solution detergent tank.
The solution detergent tank is on the front of the machine, to fill you need to unscrew the
plastic cap on the top. Filling is simply done through this filler cap.. ( see fig ) .

Refill the tank with clean warm water ( not exceeding 50° C), at this point add the detergent
in the way and concentration suggested by the seller.
ATTENTION: TRY TO AVOID CAUSING TO MUCH LATHER, which could damage the
suction motor For this reason it is advisable to use the minimum amount of detergent, as
suggested by our company. Use a low lather solution and eventually introduce some anti-
lather liquid in your waste tank. Not for any reason must high acid solutions be used.
7.4. Note: detergent tank capacity = 35 litres
WASTE TANK
The waste tank is positioned centrally and constitutes the“ main frame ” of the machine.
To empty the tank,once filled with waste water you need to proceed this way:
Empty waste water in a place where it is not going to harm the environment .
Unfasten the corrugated waste tube, after having positioned it into the waste outlet,
open the waste tap.

To clean the waste tank it is neccessary to unscrew on of the two caps which are placed on
top, of the side ( one right one left).
This operation only needs to be done if you need to clean the waste tank, proceed as follows:
Remove the washer taps
Fill with 4/5 litres of detergent/water solution.
Move the machine from front to back to clean the tank.
Empty as previously shown.

The waste tank contains a float,which, by a led light on the control panel signals that the
waste water level is not at maximum. When the light switches off the waste tank needs
emptying.
NOTE: Maximum waste water capacity = 36 litres
7.5. Battery charging
The state of battery charge can continuously be see by a series of led lights on the control
panel.
Green led on: battery charged
Yellow led on: battery will soon need charging
Red led on: no charge , charge battery immediately.
To re-charge the battery pack proceed as follows:
1. Switch off general ignition
2. take out the Anderson type plug, at the back of the machine.
3. Plug the charger into the domestic mains, assembled at the back of the machine.

NOTE: Only use the battery charger supplied with the machine ,avoid any other charger as
it may not have the same characteristics.
7.6. Adjusting handlebar tilt
The machine has been given a practical tilt adjustment ( height) on the handlebars.
To adjust the handlebar height you need to use the closing screw which is situated on the
stirrup,as shown in the Fig.
loosen the screws ( on the battery chamber, left and right),
Position the handlebars to the desired height.,
Tighten the screws.
