Before you begin
Make sure you have the following:
1. Edirol R09 MP3/WAVE Recorder
2. Power cable and power adapter
3. SD memory card (this should be inserted at bottom of record under panel)
4. 2 x AA batteries (if not using mains power)
5. USB cable
Check the settings on the back look like this:
Switching on
Recommend: Using
mains power
at all times where possible to
prevent recording to fail
due
to battery power loss
If using mains power:
A. Connect power cable to power adapter
B. Connect plug to power source
C. Connect power to side of recorder
If using batteries:
A. Open bottom panel by sliding it away from recorder until it stops.
Press, hold and slide battery release button to left and then slide bottom panel away from
recorder again
B. Insert batteries
C. Close bottom panel
1. Press and hold power button at side of recorder for more than 2 seconds
Recording
1. Set record mode by pressing and holding down 'Finder/Menu' button for more than 2
seconds
2. Press 'Rec/Enter' button
3. Change sample rate and record mode using the navigation/control buttons and 'Rec/Enter'
button
Recommend sample rate; 48KHZ and record mode; MP3-128KHZ (for mp3 recordings) or WAV-
16bit (for wave recordings)
4. Press 'Finder/Menu' button repeatedly until back at main screen
5. Press 'Rec'
Note:
This is not recording
but in 'Standby mode'. In this mode you can check your levels
before recording
6. Press 'Rec' again
To stop recording press 'Stop' using control/navigation buttons
Playback Your Recordings
Note: This recorder
does not have speakers
. To listen back you will need to plug in
headphones
at the side of the recorder. Use the Volume buttons to adjust volume
Use the control/ navigation buttons to play, pause and stop playback.
Press the scan buttons to switch between tracks
Press and hold the scan buttons to fast-forward/rewind
Transfer Your Recordings
1. Turn on recorder (see 'Switching on')
2. Connect USB cable at bottom of recorder (under panel)
3. Connect USB cable to computer
The recorder will appear as a 'Removable device'
4. Open to view files
5. Select recorded files (e.g. R09_0001, R09_0002)
6. Copy and paste to computer
7. Confirm transfer and delete files from recorder
8. Close 'Removable Disk' window and eject recorder from computer
