In order to prevent personal injury or damage to the property, please read and understand (the safety
precautions) thoroughly and follow them correctly.
■The severity of injury or damage that occurs when ignoring instructions and improperly using the
cleaner is classified and explained below.
Content that "prompts warning or attention".
”Prohibited” content that must not be performed.
"Directive" content that must be performed.
Meaning of symbols
This indicates content that "may result in serious injury or death".
This indicates content that "may result in minor injury or property
damage".

● Do not disassemble, repair, or alter.
Doing so may cause leaking, heat generation, fire, or injury.
For repairs, please consult with the Hitachi authorized service agent.
● Keep the body and charging station away from water and other liquids.
The battery may rupture and cause the product to catch fire or malfunction.
● Do not connect the contacts of the body and charging station with metal objects.
Do not carry or store with metal necklaces, hairpins, etc.
The battery may short-circuit and cause leaking, heat generation, rupturing, or fire.
● Do not throw into fires or apply heat.
The internal battery may rupture and cause fire.
Be sure to follow these directions.

Immediately request for inspection and repair by the Hitachi authorized service agent.
● Use AC 100-240V socket.
● Periodically wipe off dust, etc. from the plug with a dry cloth.
● Make sure to fully insert the plug.
● Disconnect the plug from the socket when performing charging station maintenance.
If the cord is damaged, it must only be replaced by the Hitachi authorized service agent in
order to avoid a hazard.
● Do not damage the cord.
[Do not damage, tamper, unreasonably bend, pull, twist, tuck, or place heavy objects on the cord, etc.]
● Do not use damaged cords and plugs, or loose socket.
● Do not let the cord get caught in the rotating rotary brush.

Do not insert or disconnect with wet hands. Do not touch the contacts of the charging station and body.
●
Do not charge using a combination other than the included charging station and body.
● Do not use the included charging station to charge other types of rechargeable
batteries or non-rechargeable batteries.
Doing so may cause fire or electrical shock.
●
During charging, the stick cleaner with the charging station must be placed in a well
ventilated area.
●
The cleaner does not operate even after pressing the control button though it is fully charged.
● The power turns on and off when moving the plug or cord.
● Sometimes the cleaner stops during operation.
● There is an abnormal sound during operation.
● The body is deformed or abnormally hot.
● The cord is damaged or abnormally hot.
● There is a burning "smell".
● There are other abnormalities.

● Discontinue operation during maintenance.

● Do not carry the body or place it on the floor while it is set on the charging station.
The body may fall and cause injury or damage the floor.
● Do not clean using the tip of the body without the handy brush.
Doing so may damage the floor.
● Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
● This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
● Only allow children at least 8 years old to use the charging station. Give sufficient
instruction so that the child is able to use the charging station in a safe way and
explain that it is not a toy and must not be played with.
● Instruct the child not to try and recharge non-rechargeable batteries because of the
danger of eruption.
● Examine the charging station regularly for damage, especially the cord, plug and
enclosure. If the charging station is damaged, it must not be used until it has been
repaired.

Also, do not disassemble, modify, or solder the battery, or charge the battery on its own.
Only repair technicians may replace the battery.
● Do not touch the metal contacts, nor short-circuit with any metal items.
● Do not carry or store with metal items [necklaces, hairpins, coins, keys, etc.].
● Do not subject the battery to strong shock such as driving with nails, hitting it with
hammers, or stepping on it, and do not throw it.
● Keep away from fire.
● Do not leave in places of high temperature, such as under direct sunlight, or in cars
exposed to the sun.
● Do not use batteries other than those specified for this unit.
● Do not put the battery in microwaves or ovens.
● Do not submerge the battery in water or expose it to water.
Doing so may cause leaking, heat generation, rupturing, fuming, fire, electric shock, or injury.
Battery (lithium-ion battery)
●
If the liquid inside the battery enters your eyes, do not rub your eyes, but thoroughly
wash them with clean water such as tap water immediately, and then consult a doctor.
Failure to do so may cause damage to your eyes.
● If the liquid inside the battery attaches to your skin or clothes, wash them with clean
water such as tap water immediately, and then consult a doctor.
Failure to do so may cause skin rashes.
WARNING
● Do not use the battery if it is leaking or has an abnormal odor, discoloration,
deformation, or damage due to being dropped.
Doing so may cause heat generation, rupturing, fuming, or fire. The liquid may cause damage if it attaches to the floor.
● Keep away from infants.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock or injury.
CAUTION
● Charge in areas where the room temperature is between 5°C and 35°C.
The battery may not charge correctly, or the charge time may be long. Failure to do so may also
cause the battery to deteriorate.

How to charge
The battery is not sufficiently charged at the time of purchase. Please charge it before use.
(Charge time is approx. 3.5 hours.)
●
If the indicator lamp does not turn on in red or if it immediately turns off, lift the body and set it on the charging station again.
● When you use the cleaner for the first time or when you have not used it for a long period of time, make
sure to charge it before use because the operating time may be shorter or charge time may be longer.
● When charging the cleaner near a radio, the radio may be interrupted by noise or the radio program
may be difficult to hear.
When charging, place the charging station 2 m or more away from the radio and use separate sockets.

● If you remove the body from the charging station while the indicator lamp is off and then set it on the charging
station again, the indicator lamp will turn on, which is normal.
● The standard charge time is approx. 3.5 hours. However, the charge time may vary depending on usage.
● The body or charging station may become hot while charging, which is normal.
● The body will not operate even if the control button is pressed while charging.

● If you will not use the cleaner for a month or more, fully charge and store it, and charge it once a year.
(Storing it when there is no remaining battery level will cause the battery performance and life to deteriorate.)
● If the battery is depleted and operation stops during cleaning, the cleaner may be operable for a short while by
pressing the control button again. However, do not repeat this procedure. The battery life will shorten.
● Charge in areas where the room temperature is between 5°C and 35°C. The battery may not charge properly in
places of low temperature, or places of high temperature such as under direct sunlight. (The operating time may
be shorter, or the charge time may be longer.)

When you lift the power head from the floor, the safety switch activates and the rotary brush stops rotating for your
safety. During the "High" operation, the power of the body is reduced to minimize the power consumption.

To prevent damage to the floor, move along the grain of the flooring.
● When cleaning a new tatami, its surface may become polished.
● If dust remains on the floor after pulling the power head towards yourself, lift the
power head and vacuum again.
Clean by moving back and forth. You can collect dust thoroughly when pulling back.
When cleaning a new carpet for the first time, the cleaner may collect many loose threads.

f dust gets tangled in the wheels, the wheels cannot rotate, which may
cause wear and tear and floor damage.
Please do periodic maintenance (about once a month). (P.E-24, E-25)

When the brushes, wheels, rotary brush, or roller are worn out, please consult
with the dealer where you purchased the cleaner as soon as possible. Using
the power head while they are worn out may damage the floor.
(We recommend replacing the brushes, wheels, rotary brush, and roller

The operation may be difficult depending on the floor type.
In such a case, switch to the "Standard" operation.

You can wash the inlet of the extendable multi angle wide brush with water. After washing, thoroughly air dry before use.
Vacuuming water may result in damage.
● If fibrous dust clogs the end or interior of the multi angle wide brush, suction power is reduced, so remove
the dust.

The linen beat head can vacuum mite dirts and dead
bodies, fine dust, lints, etc. without damaging the blanket.

Emptying the dust case
● Do not detach the dust case with the body set down.
Dust may spill.
● If dust spills inside the body, remove the dust and attach the dust case as it was.
● Do not turn the dust collection inlet downward when holding the dust case or placing it.

● When you complete cleaning, check whether
the dust exceeds the "Max line".
● Empty the dust case before exceeding the
"Max line". If the "Max line" is exceeded, the
dust may be difficult to remove from the dust
case.

Fine dust may disperse in the air when emptying the dust case.
Empty the dust case in a well-ventilated environment such as outdoors, or wear a mask and avoid
breathing in the dust.
Cyclonic cleaners have the advantage of not requiring paper bags,
but to clean with high suction power, we recommend frequent disposal of dust and
filter maintenance.
Check whether the dust in the dust case exceeds the "Max line".
● When you empty the "dust case", remove dust

Removing dust from filters
Turn the mark of the filter cover in the "Release"
(adjustment) mark direction.
Raise the filter cover
straight up.
Attach the inner cylinder filter and clean filter.

Do not firmly grip the filter cover. Doing so may cause deformation or damage.

Attach the maintenance brush to the back side of the dust case.

Do not turn on the power with the dust case attached to the body while the maintenance brush is not firmly
attached to the back side of the dust case. Doing so may detach the maintenance brush from the dust case.
Firmly attach the maintenance brush deep into the back side of the dust case.
Note
Adjust the mark of the filter cover with the "Release"
(adjustment) mark.
Pressing the filter cover, turn it in the "Attach"
(adjustment) mark direction.
Attach the maintenance brush to
the hook of the dust case.
Firmly attach the handle of the
maintenance brush.
Attach the groove of the dust case to the protrusion
of the body.
Firmly attach the dust case until your
hear a "click" sound.

Insert the protrusion of the charging station into
the attachment groove of the body. (P.E-9)
When you set the cleaner on the charging station while it is
operating, operation stops and charging begins.

Hold the handle, press the handle rotation
button, and release the handle lock.
Slowly rotate the handle to fold it until you
hear a "click" sound.

● Do not leave the body unattended while it is propped up.
Do not store in places of high temperature, such as near heaters or under direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Filter cover and filters
Fine dust may disperse in the air when performing maintenance.
Empty the dust case in a well-ventilated environment such as outdoors, or wear a mask and avoid breathing in the dust.
● Perform maintenance (wash with water) on the dust case and filters.
● To clean with high suction power, we recommend performing frequent maintenance.
Note
Perform maintenance when you are concerned about dirt.
Wring out a soft cloth soaked with water before wiping.
After washing the filters with water, thoroughly air dry them.
About 24 hours is required for the clean filter to dry. (The drying time varies depending on the environment and season.)
Do not use alcohol, cleansers, chemical dustcloths, etc.
They may cause cracks or discoloration.

WARNING
Risk of eruption, fire, electric shock, or injury.
● Disconnect the plug of the charging station
from the socket when performing charging
station maintenance.
● Do not use flammable objects,
combustibles (thinner, benzene), etc.

When the "indicator lamp flashes in red" or "suction power is weak"
Detach the filter cover and wash

You may have unintentionally vacuumed sharp objects such as glass shards or pins.
Be careful when performing maintenance.

Wash away the dust stuck
deep in the folds of the clean
filter with water.
Drying the clean filter and the sponge filter requires approx. 24 hours.
