instructions are part of the product. They contain important informa-
tion about safety, usage, and disposal. Before using the product,
please familiarize yourself with all operating and safety instruc-
tions. This appliance may only be used as described and for the
purposes indicated. Please also pass these operating instructions
on to any future owner.
Warning types
The following warning types are used in these operating instructions:
This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to
potential injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that
follow this symbol to avoid possible injury and death.
DANGER indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in minor or moderate injury.

turned off:

3. Do not place or store the appliance where it can fall or be
pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.

Return the appliance to a service center for examination and
repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the
cord around the appliance.
6. Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on
a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings
may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and
the like.

10. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
11. Do not direct hot air toward eyes or other heat sensitive areas.
12. Attachments may be hot during use. Allow them to cool
before handling.
13. Do not place appliance on any surface while it is operating.
14. While using the appliance, keep your hair away from the air
inlets.
15. Do not operate with a voltage converter.

Electrocution possible if used or dropped in tub.
Unplug after using.
For household use only.
Never use the appliance near water, and keep it away from
sinks, baths and other similar containers. The proximity of water
is hazardous, even if the appliance is turned off. Always discon-
nect the plug from the electrical outlet after use.
Treated surfaces will be hot during
use and may cause burns. Place hot iron only on flat, non-flam-
mable surfaces. Do not leave unattended.

In event of operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appli-
ance, remove the plug from the power socket.
Disconnect the appliance by pulling on the plug itself, not on the
power cord.
Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance, and protect
the cord from being damaged.
Do not kink or crush the power cord, and route it in such a way
as to prevent people from stepping on or tripping over it.
Never hold the appliance, the power cord or the power plug
with wet hands.
Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is
completely free of electrical power ONLY when unplugged.
Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance
yourself. Should you do so, the safety of the appliance can no
longer be assured and the warranty will become void. Only
allow authorized technicians to repair a defective appliance.
Ensure that the power cord 4 does not become wet or moist
during use. Route the cord in such a way that it cannot be
crushed or damaged.
Ensure that objects can never penetrate into the inside of the
appliance, particularly metal hair clips, pins or hairpins.
Do not cover the air intake 6 while operating the appliance.
Clean the air intake at regular intervals.
Always use the appliance with the attachments fitted, never
on its own, since the attachment insertion slot 1 becomes hot
during operation.
Allow the appliance to cool down before attaching or
detaching attachments.
Use only the supplied original accessories, since these have
been optimized for interaction with the appliance. Other parts
may not be adequately safe.

Keep the air inlet and outlet openings clear to ensure unim-
paired air flow. Otherwise, the appliance may overheat.
Exercise caution when using hair spray, water atomizers, etc.
The air flow may blow these substances directly into your eyes.
Also, these substances must not be allowed to penetrate the
appliance, since they may be flammable, aggressive or electri-
cally conductive.
Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric
shock, there is only one way this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet. If the plug does not completely fit into the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
Intended use
This appliance is intended for human hair care and only for use in
domestic households.
It is not intended for use on animals or in commercial or industrial
environments.
This appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use
beyond the scope described in these operating instructions.
Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will
not be excepted. The operator alone bears liability.

If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result

service hotline (see 3 year limited warranty section).
Unpacking
Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instruc-
tions from the box.
Remove all packaging material.

Packaging materials should not be used as a toy. There is a risk of
suffocation.

First use
Before using the appliance for the first time, please ensure that

the appliance and its accessory parts are in perfect working
condition,
all packaging materials have been removed.
Clean all of the attachments as described under "Cleaning and
maintenance".

Operating instructions
Connect to power source
This appliance is fitted with a safety connector , which con-
tains a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). If the appliance
malfunctions (e.g. by coming into contact with water), the GFCI
changes to "off" and the appliance will no longer have power.
If the Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter in the safety connector is no longer functioning,
discontinue use. Unplug the safety connector and contact the
customer service department.
We recommend testing the safety connector before each use
to make sure it is functioning perfectly:
1) Plug the safety connector into an electrical outlet. Ensure
that the power being supplied from the electrical outlet match-
es the voltage specified on the label.
2) Now press the "Test" button . The "Reset" button will jump
out a little more from the safety connector . Now the appli-
ance cannot be turned on again. The Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter is working.
3) Press the "Reset" button so that it snaps back into place.
You can now use the appliance.

Attachment fitting / removal
After operation, the appliance
components may be hot!
Fitting Attachments
Insert the desired attachment into the attachment insertion slot
1, so that the front arrow symbol on the attachment points at
the arrow symbol on the attachment insertion slot 1 .
Turn the attachment clockwise until it clicks into place. The
back arrow on the attachment now points at the arrow on the
attachment insertion slot 1 .
Removing attachments
First turn the appliance off and allow it to cool down.
Press the release button 7 and turn the attachment counter-
clockwise .
The attachment can now be removed by pulling it out of the
attachment insertion slot 1.
Turning on /off / Selecting a heat level
After you have inserted the required attachment and connect-
ed the plug to the power socket, you can turn the appliance on
with the level switch 3 and select the output level:
"OFF" The appliance is turned off
"1" for reduced air-flow strength with heat
"2" for high air-flow strength with heat
You turn the appliance off by sliding the level switch 3 to the
"OFF" position.
To fix the styling, you can activate the "Cool Shot" switch 2.
The styling will be fixed by the cool air stream:
During operation, slide the "Cool Shot" 2 upward.
The air flow will be cooler.
When you want to deactivate the cool air stream, slide the
"Cool Shot" switch 2 downward.

Using the attachments
Large round brush

This attachment gives the hair more volume or large curls.
Wind a slightly damp strand of hair around the large round
brush q.
Turn the appliance on to level 1 or 2.
When the strand is dry, slide the "Cool Shot" switch 2 upward.
Wait until the strand has cooled.
Unwind the large round brush q from the strand.
Proceed with the other strands in the same way.
Small round brush 10
With this attachment you can make your hair curly or wavy.
Wind a slightly damp strand of hair around the small round
brush 0.
Turn the appliance on to level 1 or 2.
When the strand is dry, slide the "Cool Shot" switch 2 upward.
Wait until the strand has cooled.
Unwind the small round brush 0 from the strand.
Proceed with the other strands in the same way.

Curling tongs

With this attachment you can put small ringlets (angel curls) into
your hair.
Secure the tip of the strand with the clip on the curling tongs 9.
Then wind the slightly damp strand of hair around the curling
tongs 9.
Turn the appliance on to level 1 or 2.
When the strand is dry, slide the "Cool Shot" switch 2 upward.
Wait until the strand has cooled.
Open the clip of the curling tongs 9 a little and pull the curling
tongs 9 out of the strand.
Proceed with the other strands in the same way.
Double brush

This attachment is suitable for drying particularly long hair.
Take up a lock of hair near the root using the open double
brush w, then close the double brush w and keep it closed.
Turn the appliance on to level 1 or 2.
Pull the hair slowly through the double brush w so that the lock
is dried all the way to the ends.
Proceed with the other strands in the same way.
Half-round brush 8
The half-round brush 8 is suitable for combing and simultaneous
blow drying of the hair.
Styling jet

With this attachment you can target parts of your hair for styling
and blow-drying.

Cleaning and maintenance
Always remove the safety con-
nector from the electrical outlet before cleaning the appliance.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANC-
ES should you immerse the appliance in water or other liquids
during cleaning!
After being cleaned, the appli-
ance must be completely dry before using it again.
Allow the appliance to cool
sufficiently before cleaning it.
Do not use any aggressive
cleaning liquids or solvents. They could damage the surface.
Clean the appliance only with a slightly damp cloth.
Allow the appliance to dry completely before using it again or
before storing it.
If necessary, wipe the storage bag r or the attachments
8/9/0/ q/w/e with a damp cloth.
Clean the air intake 6 regularly with a soft brush.
Storage
If you plan to not use the appliance for an extended period,
store it in the storage bag r. The appliance must be cooled
down for this!

Tips for the perfect hairstyle
Only style your hair when it is already almost dry.
Divide your hair into individual strands for more volume.
You will achieve additional volume by starting to dry your hair
at the hairline and working down towards the ends.
After turning the appliance off, wait for a few seconds before
releasing the curl.
Let your hair cool down sufficiently before combing it out.
Fix the hair with a little hairspray.
Disposal
Electrical appliances may not be thrown away as part of normal
household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical appliance,
dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable
in your state. This will ensure that old electrical appliances are
recycled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.
Further information about disposal is available on the Internet
at www.epa.gov.
Disposal of the packaging
Note the marking on the different packaging materials and sepa-
rate them as necessary. The packaging materials are marked with
abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:
1–7: Plastics
20–22: Paper and cardboard
80–98: Composites
Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly
manner.
If possible, keep the appliance’s original packaging during the
warranty period so that the appliance can be packed properly
for return shipment in the event of a warranty claim.
