ABOUT THE REMOTE CONTROL
This remote control gives you easy access to the features of DISH
Network
TM
satellite TV receivers.
You can set up the remote to control as many as three devices
along with the receiver. These may be TVs, VCRs, DVD players,
cable TV boxes, tuners, or audio amplifiers.
This remote can be used with both IR only and IR/UHF receivers
(a UHF receiver has an antenna attached to its back panel).
This remote cannot be used with the DISH Network Model 7100/
7200 (DishPlayer) receiver.
On most non-DishPVR receivers, the SKIP BACKbutton is now
the SYSTEM INFORMATION button.
With a DishPVR receiver, the DVR List, PTV List or PVR list
button functions as the PVR button. Pressing it when the remote
is in SAT mode will open the PVR Recorded Events menu.
With the JVC Model HM-DSR100-D-VHS, when the remote is
in SAT mode, the VCR buttons function as labelled. For
example, PLAY will start playing a videotape, STOP will stop the
tape, etc.
When this remote is used with a DishPVR receiver, pressingthe
POUND (#) Button opens the Alpha Search menu.
IF YOUR RECEIVER DOES NOT RESPOND TO THIS
REMOTE
It may be that the receivers address was changed and is no longer set
to #1. This is important because if the receiver and remote are not set to
thesameaddress,theremotecannotcontrolthereceiver.
To check the receivers address, turn off the receiver (leave the TV on),
and press the System Information or Info button on the front panel to
open the Important System Information screen. If the receiver
does not have such a button, pull the Smart Card to open the
Important System Informationscreen. If the remote address is not
1, you will need to change address (see page 23 for instructions).

REMOTE CONTROL SIGNALS
The remote control uses both Infra-Red (IR) light and UHF signals to
control the satellite receiver and other devices.
IR light travels only short distances (40 feet or less), and cannot
go through walls or other solid objects. You mustpoint the remote
control directly at the device, with no objects blocking the signal
path.
UHF signals can go through
walls but IR signals cant. To
use UHF signals to control the
receiver, the receiver must
have a UHF antenna attached
to it
’s
back panel.
