The GFD Model 3-Phase Ground Fault Display is intended for the use
on grounded systems to detect and indicate the phase of the first ground
fault condition. This enables corrective action to avoid the potential hazards
resulting from a second ground fault. With a nominal 3 phase line voltage
applied, a flashing normal green LED gives indication of a non-fault condition
and integrity of the wire connection to the corresponding phase. When there
is a phase-to-ground fault or a lost connection to the corresponding phase
occurs a flashing red LED gives positive fault indication.
INSTALLATION
BE SURE TO TURN THE POWER OFF PRIOR TO INSTALLING THIS
DEVICE
1. Follow all Local, State, and National Electrical Codes when installing this
equipment.
2. A 7/8” hole or 1/2” conduit knockout will have to be located on a visible
surface of the panel being monitored. When mounting on a hinged door,
place the hole location as close to the panel hinge as possible. This will
reduce the amount of cable slack required to properly open and close the
panel door. See Figure 1.
3. Remove the mounting hardware and insert the wiring harness and the
threaded nipple through the hole. Secure the unit in place by reinstalling
the locknut. Do not over torque.
4. Refer to Figure 2 for proper wiring connections.
NOTE: Matched color pairs must be kept linear from line to load side of the
fuse(s). Solid color to the line side, white striped to load side.
5. TURN POWER ON. All three green LEDs should flash independently at
a rate of 2 flashes/sec, indicating a normal operating condition.
6. If all three LEDs do not flash, TURN POWER OFF and check wiring con-
nections.

MAINTENANCE
Upon final installation, no routine maintenance is required. A periodic check
of the system is recommended. The GFD model is not field serviceable and
should be returned if repair is needed (field repair should not be attempted
and may void warranty). Be sure to include a brief description of the prob-
lem plus any relevant application notes. Contact customer service to
receive a return goods authorization number before shipping.
