INSTALLATION AND USE

For installation:

The hood must be installed at least 43 cm from electric cookers and 65 cm from gas, gas oil

or coal cookers. If the installation instructions for a gas cooker specify a greater distance, then this distance must

be observed.

For installation and use:

Before installing or using the hood, read this manual carefully. The drawings are at the

front of the manual. The Manufacturer declines all liability for any faults, damage or fires caused by the appliance

as a result of failure to observe the instructions and recommendations given in this manual.

To install follow points (1

.....). Do not connect the appliance to the electrical power supply until

installation is completed. If the exhaust pipe is not provided, it must be purchased separately. The drilling

template for mounting the front panel is only supplied with selected models. The front panels are ready to mount

and available in various colours and should be bought separately.

Pull out the steam deflector

(FIG. A-1)

Remove the filter

(FIG. A,2-3, detail X)

or the grille

(FIG. A,2, detail Y)

To fix the hood, proceed as follows:

Position the drilling template on the inside right wall of the wall unit, with the arrow pointing towards the back

of the wall unit

(FIG. B-1).

Drill as indicated on the

template (FIG. B-2).

Repeat the procedure on the left hand side of the

wall unit (FIG. B, 3-4).

Position the hood

(FIG. B-5)

and secure it to the wall unit using the 4 screws provided

(FIG. B-6)

Fit the exhaust duct to the hood opening

(FIG. B-7).

If the sides of the wall unit are 16 mm thick, insert the 4 spacers on both sides of the hood

(FIG. B-8).

Adjusting the slide-out deflector

The hood can be installed below wall units of various depths. The opening and closure of the slide-out deflector

can be adjusted to suit individual requirements.

In order to do this, remove the extractor grilles, loosen the screws

(FIG. C-9)

, adjust the brackets to suit and

tighten the screws again.

Extractor version (FIG. D-A):

Fumes are extracted and expelled to the outside through a fumes exhaust hose

fixed to the collar at the top of the hood.

Attention: If the hood is equipped with a carbon filter, this must be removed.

Exhaust air must not be conveyed through a flue used for removal of fumes produced by gas combustion

appliances or other combustible materials, but must have an independent outlet. All national regulations

governing extraction of fumes must be observed.

Filter version (FIG. D-B):

the air is filtered by a carbon filter and recycled into the surrounding atmosphere.

Attention: if the hood does not have a carbon filter, order one and fit it before use.

Carry out the electrical connection

(FIG. B-10).

Close the steam deflector

(FIG. B-11).

With some models, a carbon filter support must be fitted

(FIG. E).

1. Control panel.

2. Extractor grilles with internal grease filters - External grease filters

(selected models only).

3. Lighting unit.

4. Pull-out steam deflector.

REPLACING BULBS:

1. Disconnect the electrical power supply.

2. Pull out the steam deflector.

3. Open the back grille (

a - fig. 2

) or lighting unit (

b - fig. 2

- selected

models only).

4. Remove the burnt-out bulb.

Replace using 40 W max E14 bulbs only.

5. Refit the extractor grille or lighting unit.

Replacing the fluorescent lamp:

1. Disconnect the electrical power supply.

2. Open the lighting unit (

fig.1

3. Remove the burnt-out lamp (turn the lamp anti-clockwise and

release it from the two lamp holders on either side). Replace using

14 W max neon lamp only. If the light still does not come on, also

replace the starter (bayonet fitting) located behind one of the

lamp holders, using a starter suitable for 14 W max bulbs.

4. Close the lighting unit.

REMOVING AND REPLACING OR CLEANING

THE GREASE FILTER:

1. Disconnect the electrical power supply.

2. Pull out the steam deflector.

3. Remove the extractor grilles (

c - fig. 2

) or grease filters

(

c1/c2 - fig. 3

4. Release the grease filter.

5. Remove the dirty grease filter.

6. After the grease filter has been renewed or cleaned (depending

on model), remount in reverse order, making sure the entire

extraction surface is covered.

Be sure to use a mild detergent when washing the filter.

FITTING OR REPLACING THE CARBON FILTER:

1. Disconnect the electrical power supply.

2. Pull out the steam deflector.

3. Remove the extractor grilles (

c - fig. 2

) or grease filters

(

c1/c2 - fig. 3

4. If the carbon filter is already fitted and needs renewing, press the

release buttons (

e - fig. 4

) and pull the filter out downwards.

5. If the filters are not fitted.

locate the carbon filter under the top clips (

fig. 4

secure in place with the bottom clips (

fig. 4

6. Refit the extractor grille.

7. Some models are provided with a round carbon filter: to fit, insert

the filter into its housing so that it covers the plastic grille, then

turn it in a clockwise direction until it locks into place. To remove,

proceed in reverse order(

CONTROL PANEL

Light switch.

The switch has two positions (lights OFF - lights ON).

To switch on the lights: move the switch to the right.

Speed selector switch.

The extraction speed switch has several settings, depending on

the amount of steam and fumes.

To increase the extraction speed: move the switch to the right.

1. Packaging

recycling symbol .Dispose of the appliance in conformity with

local environmental regulations. Packaging materials can be

dangerous for children. Keep packaging materials (plastic bags,

polystyrene, etc.) well out of their reach.

2. Appliance

This appliance is marked in compliance with European Directive

2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

By ensuring that this appliance is scrapped suitably, you can help

prevent potentially damaging consequences for the environment and

health.

The symbol on the appliance or accompanying documentation

indicates that this product should not be disposed of as unsorted

municipal waste but must be taken to a collection point for the

treatment of WEEE.

Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental

regulations for waste disposal.

For further information on the treatment, recovery and recycling of

this appliance, contact your competent local authority, the collection

service for household waste or the shop where you purchased the

appliance.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL

RECOMMENDATIONS

WARNING!

• Do not allow children or infirm persons to operate the

appliance without supervision.

• Make sure that children do not play with the appliance.

1. Do not connect the appliance to the mains electricity supply until

installation is completed. Always disconnect the hood from the

mains before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

2. Do not “flambé” food under the hood. Naked flames could

cause fire.

3. Do not leave pans unattended when frying. Cooking oil can

catch fire.

4. Regular cleaning and maintenance is essential to correct

functioning and good performance. Regularly remove dirt

deposits. Regularly clean or replace filters. Never use flammable

materials as hoses for extracted air.

5. If the hood is used together with non-electrically powered

appliances, ambient negative pressure must not exceed 4Pa

(4 x 10

-5

bars). Make sure that the room is adequately ventilated.

Electrical connections

Before connecting the hood to the mains, make sure that the voltage

specified on the data plate corresponds to the voltage in your home.

The data plate is located inside the hood behind the grease filter.

If the appliance is fitted with a power supply cable and plug, the plug

must be inserted in an accessible socket.

If the hood does not come pre-fitted with a mains plug, fit one that

conforms to applicable standards or use a double-pole switch with a

minimum breaking gap of 3 mm.

Replacement of the power supply cable with power plug or flexible

cable may only be carried out by an authorized Service Centre or a

qualified electrician.

Cleaning the hood

Warning!

Failure to remove oil and grease at least once a month

could lead to fire.

Use a soft cloth damped in a neutral detergent. Never use abrasives

or alcohol.

Before using the hood

Please read these instructions carefully in order to get the best out of

your new hood.

Packaging materials can be dangerous for children. Keep packaging

materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) well out of their reach.

Make sure the hood has not been damaged during transport.

Installation, electrical connections and replacement of the mains lead

with a plug or new flexible cable must be carried out by a qualified

technician in compliance with local safety regulations.

Declaration of conformity

This product has been designed, manufactured and sold in

conformity to the following standards:

- the safety standards of the "Low Voltage" Directive 73/23/EEC

- protection requirements of “EMC” Directive 89/336/EEC

amended by Directive 93/68/EEC.

Troubleshooting guide

Hood does not work:

• Is the power plug properly inserted in the mains socket?

• Is there a power failure?

• Is the mains fuse OK?

The hood is not extracting efficiently:

• Is the right extraction speed selected?

• Do the filters need to be cleaned or replaced?

• Are the air outlets blocked?

Light does not work:

• Does the bulb need to be replaced?

• Is the bulb correctly fitted?

• Is the mains fuse OK?

AFTER-SALES SERVICE

Before calling Technical Assistance

1. Check to see if you can fix the problem yourself (see

”Troubleshooting guide”).

2. Switch the hood off for a few minutes then switch it back on and

see if the problem has gone.

3. If the problem persists, call Technical Assistance.

Specify:

•the nature of the problem,

• the model of hood, stated on the data plate inside the hood,

accessible by removing the grease filters.

• your full address,

• your telephone number and area code.

• the service code (the number appearing below the word

SERVICE on the data plate inside the hood behind the grease

filter).

If any repairs are needed, contact an authorised Service Centre (to

ensure that only original spare parts are used and that repairs are

made correctly).

Failure to comply with these instructions may compromise the safety

and quality of the product.
