AEG EWA1260 has a see-through water level indicator, which makes the measuring of water easy. It is equipped with an automatic shut-off function, which turns the device off when it reaches the boiling point or when the jug is lifted from the base. Thanks to the possibility of 360-degree rotation of the jug on the base, it is easy to lift and put down, even for left-handed users. It has a push-button lid, which makes operation easy, and a removable and washable anti-limescale filter. The water level indicator means you only boil the water you need, which saves energy.

Read the following instruction carefully before using the appliance for the

rst time.

• Thisapplianceisnotintendedforusebypersons(includingchildren)with

reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience

and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction

concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised that they do not play with the appliance.

• Childrenshallnotplaywiththeappliance.

• Cleaningandusermaintenanceshallnotbemadebychildrenunlesstheyare

older than 8 and supervised.

• Keeptheapplianceanditscordoutofreachofchildrenlessthan8years.

pour water into the kettle. Make sure

water level is visible in the water level

indicator, but not exceeding the Max.

5. The automatic switch o function.

When the water has boiled or the

kettle is moved from the base, it will

switch o automatically. If you wish to

stop the heating process before the

water is boiling, simply lift up the ON/

OFF switch to the OFF position.

4. Close the lid and make sure it snaps

in correctly. Otherwise the auto

switch o function will not work

reliably. Place the kettle onto the

base.PressdowntheON/OFFswitch;

the indicator light will illuminate and

the kettle will start to heat up.

1. Before cleaning, always unplug the

appliance. Never rinse or immerse

thekettleorbaseunitinwater.Just

wipe with a damp cloth, using no

abrasive detergents. Occasionally

rinse out the kettle with clean water.

3. Decalcifying is recommended

regularly, depending on water

hardness. Fill the kettle with water

and decalcifyer according to

decalcifyer product instructions.

Do not boil the solution as it could

foam over. Afterwards, rinse kettle

thorougly with fresh water.

strainer insert and lift out. Cleaning

the heating plate –supercialspots

of rust may appear on the base unit.

Problem Possible cause Solution

The appliance switches o before boiling. Too much lime scale at the base of the kettle. Runthedecalcifyingprocedure.

The appliance does not switch o. Close lid until it locks.

Instert the strainer correcttly.

The appliance cannot be switched on. After operating with little or no water, the

appliance has not cooled down suently.

Allow to cool a short time and try again.
