Adjusting the optical axis
1. While viewing the camera's LCD monitor, adjust so that the circle of
the eyepiece aligns with the center of the LCD monitor by turning
the camera position adjustment knob (horizontal) ③ and camera
position adjustment knob (vertical) ④ .
When turning on the camera, if what you see is like Fig. A, the field of
view of the Fieldscope/EZ-Micro is out of alignment to the lower left
relative to the camera. Adjust the camera position adjustment knob
(horizontal) ③ and camera position adjustment knob (vertical) ④
until it looks like Fig. B.
2. Loosen the camera position fixing screw (backward and
forward) ⑤ , move the bracket and the camera forward and fix it
where the field of view is clear and four corners of vignetting are
about the same size as in Fig. C.
(Make sure the lens does not hit against the eyepiece/DS mount.)
Fig. D is an example of the field of view not being clear enough.
Depending on your combination, it may not appear as in Fig. C.
3. If it appears like Fig. E, the right side of the camera is closer to the
eyepiece/DS mount or the camera is misaligned to the left as in Fig. F.
Loosen the camera shoe fixing screw ⑥ , then adjust the camera's
position to get it closer to Fig. C while watching the LCD monitor.
Operate the camera position adjustment knob (horizontal) ③ if
necessary.
4. Set at the zoom position where no vignetting occurs by operating
the camera's zoom (depending on the camera model, pay special
attention so that the lens does not hit against the eyepiece/
DS-mount). Vignetting may not completely disappear.
[Note]
If you see a black section as in Fig. E at the top or bottom of the field
of view, it cannot be adjusted to appear like Fig. C or Fig. D. Please
readjust the camera zoom position and use it where no vignetting
occurs.
