SurgeX SX2120 Installation guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the SurgeX SX2120 Installation Instructions. This document outlines the installation process, electrical specifications, and features of the SX2120 power conditioner, including the rear panel receptacles, as well as indicator lights. I'm ready to assist with any questions you may have.
  • What is the maximum load for each receptacle?
How many switched outlets are there?
How many always-on outlets are there?
What does the green Self-Test light indicate?
What voltage and amperage is required for the unit?

120 Volt Connections
The SurgeX SX2120 is designed to be installed in a 19 inch equipment rack and
requires two units (2-U) of rack space. Connect power to the unit by plugging the
cord into a 120V ac receptacle. The SX2120 must be plugged into a 20 amp
receptacle. If a 120V, 20 amp receptacle is not available, you will need to have one
installed by a licensed electrical contractor.
The SX2120 has a total of 14 receptacles on the rear panel: two switched banks
each with 6 outlets, and two outlets always on. There is also a front panel courtesy
outlet which is always on. Each receptacle is rated for a maximum load of 15
amps, but the total load for the unit must not exceed 20 amps. Plug the equipment
cords into the always-on and switched receptacles as needed to power the
equipment.
The always-on and courtesy receptacles provide power as long as power is
supplied to the SurgeX. The 12 switched outlets provide power only when the front
panel switches are on.
Indicator Lights
There are two red Power lights and a green Self-Test light. Each red Power light
indicates that the corresponding power switch is turned on and power is applied to
the unit. The green Self-Test light indicates that power is applied to the unit and
the internal surge protection circuitry is fully functional.
