Red Label Economy BPP20T, 2010T, RL4TPP, RLBRK10 Operating instructions

  • Hello! I've analyzed the provided document, which outlines the bleeding instructions for TRADEQUIP Porta Power models RL4TPP, RLBRK10, 2010T and BPP20T. This document provides guidance on identifying air in the system, refilling with hydraulic oil, and performing a bleeding procedure to ensure smooth operation of the pump and lifting ram. I'm ready to answer your questions about these instructions and the Porta Power.
  • What are the symptoms of air in the Porta Power system?
What grade of hydraulic oil should I use?
How do I bleed the pump assembly?
How do I bleed the Lift Ram?

Bleeding Instructions
Product Code/s: RL4TPP RLBRK10 2010T BPP20T
Bleeding Instructions
1. Remove the Filler Bung and if required, whilst holding the pump vertically refill with
*32 Grade Hydraulic oil until the oil is lapping the bottom of the filler hole then replace
the Filler Bung.
2. Start by placing the pump horizontally on a bench with the ram connected via the
hydraulic hose.
Note: place the ram on the floor.
3. Turn the release valve clockwise to the lifting position.
4. Hold the pump on the edge of the bench and operate the pump until the attached ram
has extended over half of its stroke.
The usual symptoms of a Porta Power with air in the system are as follows;
- No resistance in the pump stroke while pumping up a load [handle feels light]
- Most of the down stroke of the pump taken up but no movement on the Lift Ram
- Lift Ram jumps upwards while being pumped up
- Lift Ram slowly raises on its own after being fully retracted

5. While holding the pump vertically turn the release valve to the release position
and allow the ram to retract to fully retracted position.
6. At this point the Pump Assembly should be bled of air, however if the symptoms described at the beginning of
this instruction persist repeat steps 1 to 5.
Follow step 7 to bleed the Lift Ram.
7. With the pump and ram connected via the hose assembly, stand the ram vertically with the hose in the upper
position, repeat bleeding steps 1 to 6 until ram advances and retracts smoothly.
At this point both the Bottle jacks Pump and Bottle Jack Ram should be free of air and the Press ready for
operation.
*The TradeQuip range of bottle jacks use grade 32 Grade Hydraulic Oil for the correct operation and compatibility with the seals used in their construction.
