LW Scientific M5-IT

The LW Scientific M5-IT is an infinity microscope with a 50X oil immersion objective, designed for high-resolution imaging and differential counting. Here are some of its key features and use cases:

  • High resolution and clarity: The infinity optics and PLAN Achromatic objectives provide sharp, detailed images with minimal distortion.

  • Epi-fluorescence compatibility: The infinity design allows for the addition of an epi-fluorescent light source, enabling fluorescence microscopy techniques.

  • Differential counting: The 50X oil immersion objective provides a wide field of view (twice that of a 100x objective), making it ideal for fast and accurate differential cell counting.

Infinity optics, also referred to as infinity-corrected optics, are a superior laboratory-
grade alternative to standard DIN 160 optics found on low-cost microscopes. In
an infinity system, light rays exiting the objective travel in a parallel path toward the
head creating an “infinitely variable” distance between the objective and the
eyepieces. This allows for additional accessories, such as an epi-fluorescent
light module, to be inserted into the light path beneath the head while maintaining
parfocal optical properties. Standard DIN 160 microscopes utilize a “finite” optical
system where the objectives must be at a fixed distance of 160 mm from the
eyepieces. LW Scientific offers a full line of Infinity PLAN flat-field objectives,
including the 4X, 10X, 20X, 40X, 100X and the newly-introduced 50X oil, for use on
the M-Series LabScope. LW Scientific infinity objectives are interchangeable with
many other brands of infinity microscopes as well...just look for the infinity logo.
Infinity optics produce higher resolution and clarity than DIN 160 optics, and all LW
Scientific Infinity objectives are PLAN Achromatic for a 100% flat field from edge to edge.
The M-Series infinity microscopes allow future addition of advanced optical accessories
such as an epi-fluorescent light source.
Use LW Scientific’s Infinity objectives on other brands of microscope. Now you can
upgrade your existing microscope by adding a 50x Infinity objective from LWS.
