PRECAUTIONS
PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO
EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY
1. Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open since open-door
operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not
to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
2. Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or
cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
3. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven
door close properly and that there is no damage to the: (1) door (bent), (2) hinges
and latches (broken or loosened), (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.
4. The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except “properly
qualified service personnel”.
5. Make the following safety checks on all ovens to be serviced before activating the
RF Energy, and make repairs as necessary: (1) interlock operation, (2) proper door
closing, (3) seal and sealing surfaces (arcing, wear, and other damage), (4)
damage to or loosening of hinges and latches, (5) evidence of dropping or
abuse.
6. Before turning on microwave power for any service test or inspection within the
microwave generating compartments, check the RF Electronics, Coaxial cables,
wave guides, antennas and cavity for proper alignment, integrity, and connection.
7. Any defective or misadjusted components in the interlock system, monitor, door
WARNING

seal, and microwave generation and transmission systems shall be repaired,
replaced, or adjusted by procedures described in this manual before the oven is
released to the owner.
8. A microwave leakage check to verify compliance with the Federal Performance
Standard should be performed on each oven prior to release to the owner.
RF INTERFERENCE CONSIDERATIONS
The IBEX oven generates radio frequency signals. This device has been tested and was
determined to be in compliance with applicable portions of FCC part 18 requirements, and to
the protection requirements of Council Directive 89/336/EEC, the approximation of the laws of
the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility at the time of manufacture.
However, there is a possibility of a small amount of interference with weak broadcast signals if
the microwave oven is too close to a radio or TV or similar equipment. If interference is
present, it may be reduced by:
-Cleaning the door and sealing surface of the oven
-Increasing the separation of the oven from the receiving device
-Using an antenna to obtain stronger signal reception for the receiving device

the door may need adjustment. Inspect the door locking movement and the door gasket for
issues. Contact your local IBEX Authorized Service for any repairs or adjustments needed on
this equipment service inspection.
DOOR LOCKING INSPECTION
When closing the oven door, the action should be smooth with no binding. The door must
exert enough pressure on the gasket to prevent steam from exiting the oven cavity. If the door
closing is extremely tight, contact your local IBEX Authorized Service for any repairs or
adjustments needed on this equipment.
DOOR GASKET INSPECTION
Visually inspect the door gasket for cracks, splits, and missing sections.
Using a strip of plain paper, position the paper between door-gasket and the front, flat, vertical
surface above the cooking cavity then close the door. The paper should fit tightly and not be
easily removed when pulled. Check door-closure tightness near the corners and in the center
locations at the left, top and right sides of door. If the door gasket is not sealing properly,
contact your local IBEX Authorized Service for any repairs or adjustments needed on this
equipment.
DOOR GASKET REPLACEMENT
Contact your local Authorized Service to replace the gasket.
COOLING FANS
The IBEX Oven uses a powerful fan to circulate air through the internal oven electronics and
component areas. Routine visual inspection of each cooling fan vent (louvers) is recommended.
Make sure the cooling fan is operating and the oven basement is free of obstruction, dust and
debris.
ALARMS AND ERRORS
Any "Error #" or “Warning #” on the display control screen indicates an error has occurred.
Refer to the service manual and contact IBEX Authorized Service.
When a Warning occurs, the oven is still operational, but service inspection is required to avoid
major damage to the unit. When an Error occurs, the oven will not be operational.
In the case of RF power failure, the IBEX Oven will continue working in “convection-only
mode.
In the case of User Interface failure, the IBEX Oven will continue working in “convection-only
mode with the default temperature of 375ºF (180ºC)
