Setting up your Hypercom T4230 or M4230
Step 1: Install the SIM module as shown below
Power off the terminal, turn the terminal over
and remove the SIM cover as shown.
Slide the metal carrier lock down and swing the
carrier into a vertical position as shown.
Using your fingers, insert the SIM module into
the module carrier with the gold side facing the
terminal as shown. Push the SIM module in
until it stops.
Swing the module carrier down until it touches
the connector, then slide the metal carrier lock
up to close it. Reinstall the SIM cover as
shown.
Step 2: Configure the Terminal
These are the parameters that need to be set.
Parameter Definition/Function
GPRS Network Access
Provider Name
The network name of the GPRS access provider
GPRS Network User Name The user name to access the service.
GPRS Network Password The password used to access the service.
Here are the steps to set the parameters
To set the terminal GPRS configuration:
1. Press Home and then the Function key to enter Maintenance mode. A password may be required.
Type the maintenance password, then press Enter. (The default maintenance password is 028510.)
2. Press 3 to access the terminal maintenance features.
3. Press 1 to access the terminal settings.
4. Press 2 to access the GSM/GPRS configuration selections.
5. Press 1 to set the GPRS configuration.
6. Press 3 to enter the name of the GPRS network access provider.
7. Type telargo.t-mobile.com then press Enter. (dot and dash are both under the 1key)
8. Press 4 to enter the GPRS network user name and login.
9. Type HCOM then press Enter.
10. Press 5 to set the network password.
11. Type HC38 then press Enter.
12. Press Home to save the changes.
13. When prompted to save the changes, select Yes, then press Enter.
14. The screen indicates that a save is in progress.
15. Press any key to restart the terminal. The terminal will reboot and return to the terminal desktop.
