AS Steribox
Information on Cleaning
The filter can remain in the box during all manual and mechanical cleaning operations. The box can be manually cleaned
and disinfected with all common neutral, non abrasive cleaning agents. Do not use metal brushes on the box. Stubborn
deposits can be removed in an ultrasonic bath.
The box is dish washer proof using any common cleaning agents, and suitable for all common chemical and thermal
desinfection methods. It is important that the box is rinsed to ensure all residues are removed. The final rinse should
be carried out with deionised water. Following these cleaning instructions will ensure the correct functioning of the AS
Steribox and enhance its lifetime.
Information on storage
The shelf life of the sterile content as in accordance to DIN 58953-9, should be determined by the protocols of your
Institution. It is important to ensure that the sterile content is protected from dust, dirt, humidity, mechanical damage and
hazardous substances during storage.
Visual inspection
Prior to cleaning, it is important that the AS Steribox is checked for any damage that could allow the penetration of
germs. Any damage must be rectified by qualified and trained personnel. Damaged parts must be replaced.
Safety seals
Unauthorised opening can be prevented by using safety seals attached between the lid and the base of the box.
Filters
The filter must be periodically replaced. The time scale will depend on the type of filter in use and the instructions of your
Institute.
Recommended sterilisation methods:
Autoclave sterilisation at 121°C or 134°C
More methods:
Formaldehyde, ethylene oxide at maximum of 65°C. The ventilation time required is twice that of a metal container. (gas-

To open
Press down the red button
1. Simultaneously pull the
lower part of the safety
lock outwards 2. Lift the
upper part to unlock 3.
To close
To close the box, clip on the
upper part of the safety lock
and press down.
To change the filter
Insert a flat blade into the
filter support recess and
remove the cover.
Remove the old filter and
replace it. The new filter
should have the rough
side facing the out.
Replace the coloured plas-
tic disk in the filter cover.
The filter cover can then
be snapped back into
place. The box is now
ready for use.
