General Information
Bluetooth
communication
Bluetooth
devices transmit a low 1mW signal and communicate
on a frequency of 2.45 GHz. This frequency band is also
internationally used for industrial, scientific and medical devices
(ISM). The low power limits the communication range to about 10
meters (30 feet). However the communication range may be
reduced due to electromagnetic environment and obstacles found
within the 10 meters radius.
Below conditions cause loss of signal quality and communication
range.
- There are obstacles such as human bodies or metal objects.
- Other devices using the same frequency band are in use (eg:
cordless phones, microwave oven, medical devices and
wireless LAN device).
- The unit is placed on a steel or other metal cabinet.
When this unit is placed too near a Wireless LAN device or
microwave, noise interference may occur, causing crackling
sound. It may also reduce the communication speed and cause
invalid connection. If these happen, do the following:
- Place the unit at least 10 meters away from the Wireless LAN
device.
- Turn off the Wireless LAN device if it is less than 10 meters
away.
- Place the unit closer to the
Bluetooth
source device.
Avoid using this unit in hospitals. The microwaves emitted may
affect the electronic medical devices.
This unit supports security capabilities which comply with the
Bluetooth
standard enabling a secure
Bluetooth
wireless
connection. However the security level may vary depending on
the setting. Please be careful when using
Bluetooth
wireless
technology.
SHARP is not responsible for any information leakage during
Bluetooth
communication.
Connection with all
Bluetooth
devices is not guaranteed.
- A device which features
Bluetooth
functionality is required to
comply with the
Bluetooth
standard, specified by Bluetooth SIG,
and be authenticated.
- Even if the device complies with the above
Bluetooth
standard,
specific devices may not connect or work correctly. This is due
to the feature and specification of the device.
Notes when using unit with a mobile phone
This unit cannot be used to talk over the telephone even when
there is a
Bluetooth
connection made to a mobile phone.
Please refer to the operating manual supplied with the mobile
phone for details on operation of your mobile phone whilst
transmitting the sound using a
Bluetooth
connection.

Bluetooth
Listening to Bluetooth enabled devices
About Bluetooth technology
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range radio technology that
enables wireless communication between various types of digital
devices, such as mobile phone or computer. It operates within a
range of about 10 meters (30 feet) without the hassle of having to use
cables to connect these devices. Since the Bluetooth technology
does not require line of sight between the communicating devices, it
is not necessary to line up the transmitting device and the receiver,
as in the case of infra red technology.
Communication System and Bluetooth Profile of this unit
There are many available Bluetooth Profiles describing the basic
communication methods, specific functions and uses, to enable
communication between devices.
This unit supports the following:
Communication System: Bluetooth Specification version 1.2
Bluetooth Profile : A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)
A2DP enables audio streaming from an A2DP equipped Bluetooth
stereo audio source device (eg mobile phone) to this unit. By
converting wireless stereo audio signal to analogue audio signal, you
can enjoy listening to the sound through this speaker system.
Note:
For details on how to operate the device to be connected, refer to
the operating manual supplied with the device.
Pairing Bluetooth devices
Bluetooth devices need to be initially paired first before they can
exchange data. Once paired, it is not necessary to pair them again
unless:
Pairing information is deleted whilst repairing, etc.
Pairing is made with more than 8 devices.
Pairing can only be made one device at a time. This unit can be
paired to a maximum of 8 devices. If subsequent device is paired,
the oldest device paired, will be deleted and replaced with the new
one.
This unit is reset. All pairing information is deleted when unit is
reset. (see page 13)

successfully paired with the source device.
3 Perform pairing procedure on the source device to detect
this unit. (Refer the source device operating manual for
details).
“DK-V2” will appear in the detected devices list (if available) in
the source device.
Notes:
Place the devices to be paired within 1 meter (3 feet) of each
other when pairing.
Some source devices are unable to display lists of detected
devices. To pair this unit with the source device, refer to the
source device operating manual for details.
4 Select “DK-V2” from the source list.
If Passcode* is required, enter “0000”.
Pairing indicator (blue) on the unit will stop blinking once the
unit is successfully paired with the source device. Pairing
information is now memorised in the unit.
* Passcode may be called PIN Code, Passkey, PIN number or
Password.
5 Start the Bluetooth connection from the source device.
Some audio source devices may connect with the unit
automatically, otherwise follow the instructions in the source
device operating manual to start connection.
Notes:
If this unit or the source device is turned off before Bluetooth
connection is completed, pairing will not be completed and the
pairing information will not be memorised. Repeat step 1
onwards to start pairing again.
To pair with other devices, repeat steps 1 - 5 for each device.
This unit can be paired to a maximum of 8 devices. If subsequent
device is paired, the oldest device paired, will be deleted from
the list.
Once a device is ousted or deleted from the pairing list, the
pairing information for the device is also deleted. To listen to the
sound from the device again, it needs to be re-paired. Perform
steps 1 - 5 to pair the device again.
Passcode of this unit is fixed to “0000” and can only be paired
with Bluetooth source device whose passcode is also “0000”.

Troubleshooting chart
Many potential problems can be resolved by the owner without
calling a service technician.
If something is wrong with this product, check the following before
calling your authorised SHARP dealer or service centre.
General
Condensation
Sudden temperature changes, storage or operation in an extremely
humid environment may cause condensation inside the cabinet.
