IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using
your
projector,
basic safety precautions should always
be
followed,
including
the
following:
1. Read and understand all instructions.
2. Close supervision
is
necessary when
your
projector
is
used
by
or
near children.
Do
not
leave
your
projector
unattended
while
in
use.
3. Care
must
be
taken
as
burns
can
occur
from
touching
hot
parts.
4.
Do
not
operate
your
projector
with
a damaged
cord
or
if
the
projector
has
been dropped
or
damaged -
until
it
has been
examined
by
a
qualified
serviceman.
5.
Do
not
let
cord hang over edge
of
table
or
counter
or
touch
hot
surfaces.
6.
If
an
extension
cord
is
necessary, a
cord
with
a suitable
current
rating should
be
used. Cords rated
for
less
amperage
than
the
projector
may overheat. Care
should
be taken
to
arrange the cord
so
that
it
will
not
tripped
over
or
pulled.
7.
Always
unplug
projector
from
electrical
outlet
when
not
in
use.
Never
yank
cord
to
pull
plug
from
outlet.
Grasp
plug
and
pull
to
disconnect.
8.
Let
your
projector
cool
completely
before
putting
away.
Unplug
cord
from
the
body
of
projector
and store
it
at
suitable place.
9.
To
protect
against electrical shock hazards,
do
not
immerse
this
projector
in water
or
other
liquids.
10.
To
avoid electric shock hazard,
do
not
disassembl~
this
projector,
but
take
it
to
a qualified serviceman when some
servide
or
repair
work
is
required.
Incorrect
reassemb'
ly
can
cause
electric shock hazard when the
projector
is
used
subsequently.

SETTING
UP
Place
the
projector
on
a
table
of
suitable
height
so
that
the
projection
lens
is
opposite
the
center
of
the
screen.
Check
the
voltage
shown
on
the
BACK
COVER
PLATE
.
Insert
the
cable
plug
into
the
SOCKET
and
then
the
other
end
into
an
electrical
outlet.
Raise
the
Fl
LM
SUPPLY
ARM
fully
until it
stops.
ADJUSTING
FOR
FILM TYPE .
Press
down
the
FILM
SELECTOR
LEVER
for
Super
8
or
Single 8
to
show
"S".
Lift it
to
show
"R"
for
Regular 8
and
remove
the
SPINDLE
ADAPTER.
The
SUPPLY
SPINDLE
accepts
reels
of
all
8mm
film
formats.
For
Super
8 film slide
the
spindle
adapter
on
the
spindle.

THREADING
FILM
Place the
AUTOMATIC
TAKE-UP
REEL
supplied
with
the
projector
on
the
TAKE-UP
SPINDLE
. Push and rotate
the
reel
until
the
keys
of
the
spindle
fit
into
the slits in
the
reel.
With
the
perforated
edge
of
the
film
facing
towards
you,
place
a reel
of
film
on
the
SUPPLY
SPINDLE
.
Push
and
rotate
the
reel
until
the keys
of
the spindle
fit
into
the
slits in the reel.
Turn
the
REEL
LOCK
LEVER
down
to
lock
the
reel in
position.
Trim
the
end
of
the
film
by
the
trimmer
supplied
with
the
projector.
Remove
the
LENS COVER and center
the
light
beam
on
the
screen. The beam
is
centered
vertically
by
turning
the
ELEVATION
WHEEL.
Turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"F"
and insert
the
trimmed
end
of
the
film
into
the
FILM
GATE
.
Turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"L"
and
you
are
ready
for
projection.
PROJECTION ·
For
forward
projection,
turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"F"
and then
to
"L".
For
reverse
projection,
turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"R"
and then
to
"L".
To
stop the
motor
and lamp,
turn
it
to
"OFF".
Turn
the
VARIABLE
SPEED
CONTROL
DIAL
to
"FAST"
to
increase the speed
or
to
"SLOW"
to
reduce
it
.
Normally
the
speed
control
should
be
set
halfway
between
"FAST"
and
"SLOW".
A
built-in
looper
will
form
and size the
loop
automatically.
If
the
loop
slips during
projection,
the
picture
will
start
jumping
on
the
screen and a chattering noise
will
be
noticed
.
Should
this
happen,
press
down
a
few
times
"F"
of
the LOOP
FORMER
during
forward
projection,
and
"R"
during
reverse
projection
until
the
picture becomes steady once again.
To
zoom the lens, slide the lens-barrel back and
forth
until
the
picture
fills
the
screen
to
the
desired image size.
To
focus the
picture, rotate
the
barrel or
knob
until
the projected image
is
sharp and clear.
If
the
picture
is
high
or
low
on
the screen
during
projection,
rotate the
FRAMER
until
the
picture
is
properly
centered on
the screen.

REWINDING
For
single frame
project
ion,
press
the
STILL
LEVER
com-
pletely d·
own
to
"STILL".
Keep
your
finger
on the
STILL
LEVER,
but
not
for
more than 60 seconds.

After

still
projection
lift
the
STILL
LEVER
to
its
"RUN
"
position
.
4000G L:
For
normal
projection,
set the
TR
I-MOTION
LEVER
to
NORMAL.
For
slow and step
motion
projection,
move the lever
to
SLOW
or
STEP.
The
18
fps
film
speed
will
be
reduced
to
6 fps
at
SLOW and 2
fps at STEP. These SLOW and STEP
motion
speeds operate
even
during reverse
projection.
To
reverse the
direction
of
the
film
in
order
to
see
a
portion
of
it
that
has
been projected
or
for
a special
effect,
turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"R"
and
"L"
.
To
make the
picture
steady, where necessary,
press
down
"R"
of
the LOOP
FORMER.
After
all
of
the
film
has
reached the
AUTOMATIC
TAKE-UP
REEL,
turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"OFF".
Attach
the
end
of
the
film
to
the
SUPPLY
REEL
, passing over the
Fl
LM
REWIND
GUIDE,
by
giving a
few
turns
tightly
counter-clock-
wise.
Turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"R"
and adjust the
speed
control
to
the
maximum.
LAMP REPLACEMENT
~
Turn
the
ROTARY
SELECTOR
to
"OFF"
and disconnect the
AC
power source.
After
taking the
COVER
FIXING
SCREW
off,
remove the
MECHANISM
COVER
by pulling
it
towards
you.
To
remove the lamp
from
the socket, hold lamp securely while
pushing
down,
rotate counterclockwise, then
lift
the lamp
out
of
the socket.
To
replace the new lamp reverse the above
procedure.
