27-225 - ADD A CAMERA TO TOYOTA PRIUS/ LEXUS RX (40 PIN CONNECTOR)
PLEASE NOTE
Power of the additional rear view camera should be taken from the ACC line (first key turn), otherwise
the camera input will not be active. Depending on the type of camera (more specifically, on the voltage
required for work) +6 V output voltage of the monitor may be used. If the camera requires more than +6 V
it should be connected to the ACC line.
PLEASE NOTE
In some cases the head unit may not have a REVERSE wire. If that's the case, you need to extend the wire
from the +12 V tailgate lamp as the cable will not work otherwise.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I have connected a rear view camera using a Plug & Play connection cable but image from the camera
does not appear on the screen.
Some cars need to have their rear view camera input additionally activated. This procedure can
usually be done by a dealer or using diagnostics equipment or software. We usually clarify this in
the product description.
In most cases, camera should be powered up from the ACC line i.e. when powering on, the head unit
should recognize the camera video signal. Otherwise, rear view camera input will not be active.
In most cases, NTSC cameras should be used (which is clarified in the product description). Most
cars do not recognize PAL rear view cameras.
In some cars, all doors have to be closed for the rear view camera image to appear on the screen.
I have connected a Plug & Play camera/video connection cable; the connectors fit but image does not
appear on the screen.
Make sure your head unit is present in the compatibility table of the product description. Toyota
Touch/Entune gen.1 and Toyota Touch 2/Entune gen.2 head units are easily confused. Although they
may have the same connectors, image will not be shown while the car is moving or will not appear
on the screen at all.
