DIFFERENT TYPES OF BOXING GLOVES
1. Bag Gloves: Used to hit the heavy bag, double end bag and other special
bags. Usually made of heavier foam for protection. These would not be
used for sparring or real boxing due to the fact they don’t have enough
give.
2. Sparring Gloves: These gloves are used for sparring and making contact
with other fighters. Most sparring gloves have a wraparound closure to
protect against cuts from the lace up styling.
3. Training Gloves: These gloves can be used for either heavy bag work or
sparring, but should not be used for both together as they will wear down
too quickly. The ounces indicate how large or small the hand compartment
is and the lighter gloves are intended for lighter weight fighters.
