6.2 System Memory
NOTICE
Before installing any devices, turn OFF the board and unplug the power cord.
Failure to do so will cause severe damage to the board and components.
6.2.1 Features
l Two 204-pin DDR3L SODIMM sockets
l Supports 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
l Supports up to 16GB system memory
l Supports dual channel memory interface
The system board supports the following memory interfaces:
Single Channel (SC) Data will be accessed in chunks of 64 bits (8B) from the memory channels
The DIMMs are on the same channel.
DIMMs in a channel can be identical or different. We recommend using
identical DIMMs.
You don't need to populate all slots.
Dual Channel (DC) Data will be accessed in chunks of 128 bits from the memory channels. Dual
channel provides better system performance because it doubles the data
transfer rate.
DIMMs of the same memory configuration are on different channels.

6.2.2 Installing the DIMM Module
The system board used in the following illustrations may not resemble the actual board. These
illustrations are for reference only.
To install the DIMM Module, complete the following steps
1. Make sure the PC and all other peripheral devices connected to it has been powered down
2. Disconnect all power cords and cables
3. Locate the SODIMM socket on the system board.
Note the key on the socket. The key ensures the module can be plugged into the socket in only one
direction.

4. Grasping the module by its edges, align the module into the socket at an approximately 30 degrees
angle. Apply firm even pressure to each end of the module until it slips down into the socket. The
contact fingers on the edge of the module will almost completely disappear inside the socket
5. Push down the module until the clips at each end of the socket lock into position. You will hear a
click”, indicating the module is correctly locked into position

6.3 Jumper Settings
6.3.1 Clear CMOS Data
If you encounter the following situations:
l CMOS data becomes corrupted
l You forgot the supervisor or user password
you can reconfigure the system with the default values stored in the ROM BIOS.
To load the default values stored in the ROM BIOS, complete the following steps:
1. Power-OFF the system and unplug the power cord
2. Set pins 2 and 3 of the jumper to ON. Wait for a few seconds and set the jumper back to the default
setting: pins 1 and 2 to ON
3. Plug the power cord and power-ON the system.

6.3.2 Auto Power-ON Selection
To select the method of powering on the system use JP16:
l To power-on whenever AC power comes in, set JP16 pins 2 and 3 to ON
l To use the power button, set pins 1 and 2 to ON
When using the JP16 Power ON feature to power the system back on after a power failure occurred, the
system may not power ON if the power lost is resumed within 5 seconds (power flicker).
